Recent Review: The new owners of the company were two very pleasant young men who knew their trade and did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. About a cord of wood is burned each year, so I plan to get the chimney inspected/cleaned again next year to see if it will require annual cleaning or if the interval can be extended to every two years. Very pleased with the service.
Recent Review: Bernard came to clean the dryer vent. He was right on time and did a very nice job of cleaning up afterward. We were so impressed with him, we asked him to come out the following week and sweep the chimney. Actually, we asked him to do both, but he told us one was quite clean and really did not need his services. His return visit to work on the chimney went equally well. He was on time again and cleaned up completely afterward. I highly recommend his services.
Recent Review: Downeast chimney did a great job both fixing and cleaning my entire stove pipe (metalbestos/black) chimney system which is my primary heat source. Dave the owner was prompt, friendly, punctual and extremely hard working. He was very easy to work with and I would highly recommend him for both chimney cleaning and maintenance, and/or constuction.

1. 2008 excellent work cleaning chimney/stove pipe. Even vacuumed out our wood stove. 2. 2009 terrible work cleaning chimney stove pipe. Spilled soot on our rug and tracked it on our stairs. Left chimney cap askew. Unresponsive when we called to complain, no discount offered. No apology offered. 3. When we needed a part for our wood stove we asked for help and advice. We had several phone conversations trying to pick out the right part, and eventually faxed over our stove manual's parts list and the stove shop personnel ordered the part. After trying to install it, we discovered it was the wrong part. Our stove was all apart (in November) so we had to go out of town for the correct part. When we returned the wrong part to Rocky's we were charged a $30 restocking fee, even though the error was on their part. We called the owner and he would not consider canceling that fee. In summary, you cannot trust that they will give you good service, you cannot trust that they will stand behind their work, and the owner seems more concerned with saving $30 than keeping a customer. We will travel to Farmington to buy our Harmon Pellet Stove.
