Recent Review: Working with Mr Couturier was a pleasure. We value his expertise and knowledge. He guided us thru out this process, yet, listened to our concerns, and he was always considerate of our budget. (which was greatly appreciated). Glenn's work is superior and his craftsmanship speaks for itself. He has vision and wonderful ideas. We have just completed Phase 1 of our project. as of March 2013. Looking forward to Phase 2 - addition of Master Bedroom Suite - addition of family/great room - addtion of 2 car garage - new porch / front of house We feel so very fortunate to have been introduced to Mr Couturier and working with him. Looking forward to Phase 2 and the completion of our project with him.

GLUCKMAN & CO
Recent Review: My wife and I have been talking about remodeling our kitchen for years. Our house is a 50 plus year old brick bungalow with a 25 year old addition which creates the large kitchen and upstairs master bedroom and bath. Our concern was getting any contractor to do the job right and account for walls and floor of an old addition and older house that were not close to being square or plumb. We needed to use this kitchen during the remodel as much as possible and were afraid of what the contractor would find as they de-constructed the existing kitchen. We knew our electrical was a mess and the panel was almost full. In short, we were afraid of running into a money pit and even worse, have a contractor do a poor job and leave us hanging. This was a once in a lift time project for us with only one shot at getting it right. Dorien Gluckman came over on a Saturday to give us an estimate. He spent almost 3 hours going over all the details and walking thru the project explaining every step and all our choices. His explanations were easy to understand and he told us the and quot;whyand quot; behind everything. What sets Gluckman and Co apart from other companies is their communication and attention to detail. We always knew what was going on via email and phone calls. Dorien proactively called us constantly and we could always reach him on his cell. His engineering background was evident; not just on major structural issues but also on a number of minor issues we would have never caught. His attention to detail was outstanding. We recommend Gluckman and Company without reservation. Gluckman and Co did such a great job and were such a pleasure to work with we can say without reservation that this was the best contractor we've ever hired.

Recent Review: During our most recent winter, our master bedroom sustained damage from an ice dam. The water backup created drooping patches in our ceiling as well as damage to the plaster wall. Based on work we have had done in other rooms we were certain that the walls were uninsulated so we decided to have Conrad come in and replace the damaged areas and also remodel our existing closet which allowed us to add some much needed insulation to the drafty room. We contacted Conrad to act as contractor for the job. In my dealings with Conrad, he always made it a point to return my phone calls promptly and patiently answered any questions that I had. Personally, I've been in more situations then I care to admit with contractors, plumbers, electricians, etc, where they lack the basic courtesy to return your calls. So, when you can find one who actually returns your calls you know there is a good chance you found the right one! The first day and part of the second involved demolishing the plaster walls which is not a task I envy in the slightest. We have hardwood floors and Conrad made extra care to protect them during the process by bringing in wood boards to seperate the wall residue from the floor so that none of the plaster would scratch the floors (at the time we had no idea plaster was so damaging). The remaining time was spent on Conrad and his crew insulating and drywalling the exposed areas and adding some new trim pieces to the baseboard. That same week one of Conrad's subcontractors came out and did a great job mudding and taping the new walls. The finished product looked great and required minimal sanding. Now, construction aside, my wife was, of course, only concerned about two things. The dust and the well being of our two cats. Conrad and crew did a great job cleaning up the floor afterwards (we expected we'd just have to do all of cleaning when they left) which was greatly appreciated. Also, we kept our cats locked in the basement during the ordeal and they always made sure to let the cats out of their prison before they left each day (although it's hard to tell if they appreciated the gesture...they are cats, afterall).

It was a great experience from start to finish.  They were always here to make sure work was getting done and they always kept me updated on a very regular basis on how things were progressing.  All the builders  with Halldale were very honest, knowledgable,  and hard working.

Working with the owner Glenn Couturier of Halldale Builders and his crew was a joy .. The were methodical in their approach to blending the new addition with the existing home.  Reliable and ethical !! They were here every day.! Which to me says volumes. Started June 2014 ending Oct 2014. Glenn explained everything as the construction was in progress.  From my vision and wish list to choosing building materials,  ie new windows, doors, tile for the new bath room. He would share with us the work for the week .. keeping us informed every step of the way. If there was any issue he would let us know and we would talk it over. Another example of how very ethical he was ..  He would always give us alternatives / options to make informed decisions. Glenn is a man of his word, his craftsmanship and attention to detail, all these  qualities are what sets him apart from other contractors, in my humble opinion. Our forever home,  our vision and dream is now a reality .. every detail, all the finishing touches from outside to inside .. is our dream come true. He is like family to us .. and his crew !! Respectfully, Rosanne Tartaro Chuck O'Donnell Owners.
