Recent Review: Serra did an absolutely outstanding job for us building a large flagstone patio, walkway, and stone wall. From start to finish, our experience with them was just super and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Serra, our project manager David Jacinto, and their crew. David is very exacting, professional and particular: he came to the site at least 3 times before we signed the contract to answer every question and go over every detail. He was patient, professional, and meticulous in his planning and measurements, and it was a joy to work with him. My husband and I concluded that he was the perfect customer service guy: every time an issue or question came up he resolved quickly, fairly and reasonably. It was a big project that took more than a month to complete, but their crew came every day without fail to work in 95 degree weather. Jose the team leader and his team clearly take great pride in their work: I didn't think you could lay flagstone as tightly and neatly as they did. As a bonus, they were so friendly and kept everything very tidy. We are a bit picky aesthetically, and they more than delivered. As requested, our stone wall looks just like a dry-stack wall although it is in fact 4" veneer set in concrete. They carefully made all the drainage holes disappear; managed to find aged flagstone for our walkway to make it match the existing 15 year old one; pulled up and redid a step we didn't like without any complaint. We would hire them again in a second.

ALifetime Stones & Construction
After speaking to many stone masonry companies, I contracted Lifetime Stone to build an accent wall made out of natural local stone in my home. Out of all the companies that I interviewed, this company seemed to have have the best and most beautiful work. Antonio, the owner of the company, is the nicest person and not only has an amazing eye for design, he is knowledgable and enthusiastic about natural stone. In terms of the construction: I have to admit, I was very worried about all the dust in my house because this was my first major project, however, his team came early and taped off sections of the house to minimize the mess and did a great job of cleaning at the end of each day. The wall came out amazing!!!!!! AND I have a new found love and appreciation for stone. I'm already thinking of more projects and how to incorporate stone :) Thanks so much Lifetime Stones!!

ALifetime Stones & Construction
Here's why I'm Lifetime Stones biggest fan: 1) Eddie Lovius, Lifetime Stone's lead project manager, was extremely responsive (via email and/or by phone.) Honestly, it felt as though he was at my beck and call. He truly places a premium on customer service. 2) Eddie and his foreman Raul, played an integral role in the planning of the project. And, interestingly enough, they were de facto designers. (In fact, Eddie picked out the stone.) 3) Lifetime Stones pricing for labor, in my estimation, was quite reasonable. Not to mention, Eddie was mindful of my budget from the start. 4) Eddie took it upon himself to follow up with the manufacturer to verify the dimensions of the wall and to make sure that I ordered enough stone. And not only that, his discussions with the manufacturer resulted in my wife and I receiving a generous discount from the manufacturer. I mean, when does that happen? All in all, I couldn't be happier with Lifetime Stones! I'm mean I'm just in awe by how beautiful our stone wall looks. (Raul is truly a craftsman.) So, needless to say I would hire Lifetime Stones again in a heartbeat

AClassic Stonescaping & Gardens LLC
I've owned this old house (now over 75 years old) for 15 years, so I've been through my share of projects and contractors, and I can easily say that Classic Stonescaping is at or near the top of my list. My new patio rocks (no pun intended) - it's exactly what I had envisioned, and it has completely remade the look of my back yard. I can't wait to get going on some landscaping to enhance it, but even without plantings, it's gorgeous. The main patio is dry-set flagstone with brick edging (they repurposed my old bricks).  The wall around 2 sides was tricky because there was already an old concrete retaining wall buried very close to my neighbor's fence, but they were able to remove it and the new wall they put in has a lovely curve - it'll serve as both a retaining wall and seating for gatherings because it's the perfect seating height. The crew had to do some pretty intricate brick cutting in order to accommodate a "soldier-course" of bricks at the base of the curves, and they did a beautiful job. The steps up to my patio door are perfect, as well as the steps leading down to the yard. I hesitated as to whether or not to include the water feature because of the added expense, but now I'm so glad I did (bear in mind that the $20K included that).  Jeff designed it very nicely to tuck into a small area and it looks natural and lovely. The birds are digging it and it adds a very peaceful feel to the yard. So in sum, I have nothing but positive comments with regard to the quality of Classic Stonescaping's work. There is more to a project, however, than the quality and craftmanship. While those aspects are probably the most important, HOW the project is managed, and the communication skills of the team, are almost as important. Jeff Jones not only patiently helped me make decisions on the design and educated me on the options, he also managed and coordinated the project with military precision.  He knew exactly when to have large stone orders delivered, worked around the weather (this project was done in Jan-Feb), and ran an efficient and organized crew. I loved the fact that he didn't just show up now and then -- he was right there doing the work with the rest of the guys. And even when he was out getting supplies, his crew was able to answer any questions I had and everyone tried hard to accommodate any requests I had along the way. Bottom line: I very highly recommend Jeff Jones and Classic Stonescaping for any patio, stonework, etc. I consider myself a fairly exacting customer with high expectations, and I would not hesitate to hire them again. I will post photos soon!

AAce Deck & Fence
We used Ace Deck & Fence initially to replace an existing chain link fence with a 6ft. wood privacy fence in our backyard.  That project went very well so we decided to hire them again to put a stone veneer on our cinder block retaining wall.  The crew was very punctual and began work right away.  They pointed out an issue with the retaining wall leaning out and recommended rebuilding a new wall.  I spoke with Ali (one of the owners) and he worked with us on a fair price for replacing the wall.  The new wall, stone veneer, and capstone turned out better than anticipated.  We now have a nice capstone on our retaining wall that we can use as seating when guest come over.  The hideous cinder block retaining wall is now a nice decorative feature that ties together our stone patio and walkway.

AAmerican Exteriors & Masonry
Working with these guys was a pleasure. Nate helped get our designs right, and Israel listened to our concerns and followed through all the way to the end. The masonry guys are artists and did such a quality job with the concrete porch. We love the final result of the stone veneer, paver pathway, and soldier course around the entire porch. These guys really know what they're doing. We're very happy with our new porch and will enjoy it for years to come. American Exteriors and Masonry are recommended!

AJP Companies Inc
The bidding and contacting process went very smoothly, representatives were timely and responsive. Construction started and finished as scheduled. During the layout of the concrete driveway forms, the contractor was very responsive in accommodating some very specific slope and drainage requirements I had. The stone walkway abutted some existing stone paving that was to remain. The blending of the new to the old was done very well. Overall I was was very pleased with the professionalism and communication before and during the construction and I am very pleased with the final product.

ALifetime Stones & Construction
Lifetime Stones provided excellent customer service from start to finish.  The quality of workmanship was excellent, and we are thrilled with the end result.  They completed the estimated job exactly as described within the time frame promised. Eddie Lovius was very helpful and responsive during the estimating process.  When we originally called Lifetime Stones for an estimate, we had a different vision for the front of the house.  Since the original front stoop was brick, we thought we would stick with brick pavers.  Eddie completed several estimates for several different scenarios, working with us to save money where we could.  He recommended the full color flagstone with the natural stone veneer to complement the existing stone elements on our house.  It took us almost a month to decide.  Once we did, the crew was able to start our project within five days. Alexander and his crew were polite and professional.  They demolished the existing bricks on the front stoop and removed the flagstone slabs on our existing walkway.  We wanted to save this flagstone for another use, so they kindly preserved it and even moved it to our shed.  They rebuilt our front steps and covered all sides of the stoop so that none of the old brick was visible.  Laying out flagstone is an art with all of the different sizes and colors, and their quality of workmanship was admirable.  They answered all of my questions patiently and replaced an installed stone that we were not happy with.  Alexander even came back after the completion of the project to clean off a few of the stones.  Overall, the job took about one week because of two to three days of rainy weather. We are thrilled with the result and love our new flagstone porch and walkway.  It looks like it was built with the house.  We spent a little more than we were planning for this project but have no regrets.  We are happy clients.  Lifetime Stones has a one year guarantee on their work and offers a 5% discount to all Angie's List members!
