Recent Review: The truck showed up a day earlier than we thought. We were not home. Our tank was partially hidden by fencing and was not easily accessible. The driver was able to access it and filled our tank without any problem. He left us a not asking that we provide access to the tank next time and to fix a latch that was screwed together. We were so pleased that he was able to deliver our gas instead of just leaving us a note saying he could not access the tank. He went the extra step and we appreciate it!

Recent Review: We had a lot of emails and calls to determine the best tank replacement and the exact dimensions. The old tank was inside and there were several sets of narrow doors that had to be navigated to bring in the new tank. The crew finished in a half day and did a neat job transferring the oil in the old tank to the new, and in replacing pipes and fittings.

AScudder-Taylor Oil
On the date above was a routine oil delivery,  The oil tank has a device to monitor oil tank levels and telephone the company when the level goes down to 1/4th tank. They then make the delivery automatically. It is a great service.

FMurphy’s Fuel Oil Co
I have been doing business with Murphys for 4 years and had them come out to fill my fuel tank as normal. Since it was supposed to be so cold this.  weekend I had it filled when I had an 1/8 of a tank left. I got hoe checked the gauge and it said 7/8 full not completely full. The bill claims they put in 178.7 gallons and which is normal amount except I usually call when tank starts to say empty. My last four fill ups when tank was empty is as follows: 01/02/14  182 gallons 02/12/14  187 gallons 11/07/14  180 gallons 01/09/15  169 gallons As you can see the 178 was in normal expectations but I had more fuel in my tank than normal when I called for refill and now my tank says only 7/8 full. I called Murphys and said I had a concern with the bill and the person who I was speaking to who claimed to be the OWNER accused me of trying to rip them off. He wouldn't even listen to me and what I was trying to explain. I had me him look a the numbers referenced above and once he looked at them he got really p***** off and started telling me to take my business elsewhere which I will gladly do. I called to ask about my bill and I told I was a liar and that I was basically stupid. I will NEVER do business with them again. Please check your bills and the history of them to see if this is happening to you.

AFLANAGAN ENTERPRISE
I spent $4300 and that included removal of the old oil tank. I received 5 or 6 bids and they were the most competitive one. They removed my old oil tank, removed my old boiler and installed a new gas fired boiler. I converted some heating oil to gas. So they removed the old oil heating equipment. The value relative to the cost was good and they seemed to do a good job. Their overall customer service was fine also.

ARITTENHOUSE ENERGY SERVICES
After returning from a vacation in early March I noticed a strong odor of home heating fuel oil.  I knew I had a tank under my basement staircase but the oil burner it serviced had been removed in '97 when I converted to gas heat.  The tank was in an area that had been enclosed long before I bought my house in 1986 and was not easily accessible without removing a wall.  After trying to mask the odor for two weeks to no avail I finally called Rittenhouse and spoke with a customer service rep who referred me to Mr. Eric Riedlbauer.  I explained to Eric that I had just listed my house for sale and had an open house scheduled in two days and that I was concerned about how the oil odor might adversely affect the showing.  Eric asked me my location and when I told him he said he'd be there in 15 minutes.  I barely had time to tear down some paneling but I managed to do so and Eric and Wendell arrived promptly, sized up the problem and immediately diagnosed that the tank was indeed leaking.  They left and within 45 minutes or so had a proposal to me to remove the tank.  Eric said that if I wanted them to remove it on Tuesday, 3/24 that he could rearrange their schedule to make that happen so that my open house could remain on the schedule.  I was stunned because 1) he knew I would not be a repeat customer since I had converted to gas heat and also shocked that he would go to such lengths to accommodate my situation.   The crew of Wendell, Andy and Jerry arrived on schedule Tuesday morning and promptly went to work to drain approximately 250 gallons of remaining oil from the 330 gallon tank and then pull out and cut into pieces, clean and remove the tank as well as removing the fill and vent piping.  And, they put down heavy paper and plastic to protect all of the floors that they had to walk across thereby protecting the carpet I had just installed in my basement less than two months before.  They cemented the holes where the pipes had been and cleaned up everything to the point that there was no trace of what had transpired.  They applied materials to the spot where the oil had leaked and after rebuilding the area that had to be demolished for them to be able to access the tank there is absolutely no trace whatsoever of any oil odor remaining in the house.  And, the new buyer of my home won't have to worry about a tank that was determined to have a leak rupturing and discharging all of its oil in the basement.  Rittenhouse, Eric and his crew are to be commended for outstanding service.  Not only were they prompt, professional, accommodating and friendly but the price seemed extremely reasonable for what had to be done and the small space within which they had to perform their tasks.

Estimator arrived the next day after call and delivery was scheduled for following day. Two crews arrived on time. I was told by estimator that oil that was removed from old tank would be filtered to remove any sludge before pumping back into the new tank. The on site crew said that they could not do that. The crews were not customer service oriented. Large wrenches were thrown onto concrete floor several times. Luckily there was no damage to floor. I asked crew member if he planned on removing interior door before removing old tank. He said it was not necessary. He proceeded to ram the tank through the doorway and damaged the door and casement. He was ready to repeat the process with the new tank until I insisted that he remove the door. It took less than 30 seconds to remove the door. I was told that I would be contacted by Petro supervisor about the damage but I am still waiting. I cleaned up the floor as work progressed. The crew made no effort to do a more thorough cleaning.

The salesman was great. That's where is ends. They were very slow to respond to do the installation even though we were told we would be at the top of the list since we didn't have heat. We actually had to force the appointment. They still and probably won't do all the work they were supposed to do. The dropped the oil tank down the steps breaking my door and still used the same tank. So today I had an oil delivery and the tank was leaking. I call them up and and the lady who answered the phone kept me on hold for 20 minutes then wanted me to leave someone a message. Then the installation person on the phone told me I needed to call the people who filled the tank. So long story short they finally came to fix it and was an easy fix but was horrible customer service and response.
