College Park Interior Trim Installation

I signed up for one of the Big Deals with J W Handyman to have some trim work done in the master bedroom area.  The work entailed two men for 1.5 hours.  I spoke with Jesse, the owner to set up the work.  He was very courteous and responsive and arranged for two of his handymen to come out to my house to do the work.  They arrived on time and went to work right away.  When one of the workers carried his ladder up our stairs he banged the ladder against the stair rail.  The trim work was done OK--not perfect, but the caulking done around the trim was sloppy and I had to sand/clean it up prior to painting it.  When they were leaving, I asked one of the workers to be careful to not hit the stair rail since he was carrying a small ladder and other tools.  You guessed it...he accidentally banged the stair rail again and made a scuff mark on the wood.  Overall, I believe I got my money's worth but I am not sure I would use them again due to the carelessness.

Paul showed up on time, had all the required tools, discussed the scope and got right to work.  finished when he said he would and charged a fair price.

Ari (company co-owner) and Carlos came to perform 4 hours of interior trim painting. Ari had been very understanding in first scheduling the appointment and then rescheduling it for a week later. They showed up on time. I walked thru the job with Ari to show him the basement room (doors, stairs, windows and all the trim) that needed to be painted. I had moved all the furniture for him ahead of time so he was able to get to work right away. They sanded and prepared all the painted surfaces and vacuumed as they worked. They used drop clothes as well so they were very neat. They completed the work on time and did a wonderful job. When we were inspecting the job in completion, I was talking to Ari about the work and I could tell he took as much pride in his own work. One thing he did do that was unexpected but very professional was they re-caulked everywhere so the paint - caulk line was fresh, clean and looked really good. I would recommend ABL Painting and will have Ari back out to quote another job later this year.

We had a great experience with All American Painting, all the way from scheduling the estimate to touching base with them after the work was done. They were responsive, thorough, and even came back to touch up a couple of areas that we had concerns about. They were a bit more expensive than another quote we received but we felt they gave us a more complete estimate and there were no hidden fees or "extra work" required - we paid exactly what we were quoted.

Jim the Handyman recently installed a new exterior front door and some interior door trim for my home. Top notch service. Like all of the houses in this neighborhood, ours was built in the 1960's so there is always something that needs repair or replacement. We will definitely call Jim the Handyman before anyone else.

Called Jim's office and they set up an estimate for the next week.  They called the day before to remind us about the appointment. Jim came to our home to look at the door before providing the estimate and was able to schedule me for service a few days later. They also called the day before to remind us of the service date.  A different guy came out to change the lock (deadbolt and separate knob/handle which we provided) and replace the trim around the door.  He did a good job - the new lock works and trim looks good.  He provided and replaced the entire strip of trim and not just the damaged section, which made it look much cleaner.   We previously hired Jim to hang our TV on the wall and to caulk around our tubs and those have stood up well over several years.

Larry Richards came to the house personally and gave me his best thoughts on how to fix what a previous (unqualified) contractor had left. He was quite frank with his assessment which I found reassuring. He was forced to deal with some challenges after taking over someone else's work. He kept me informed about the order status and when he said his guys would be at my house, they were there. His guys showed up promptly at 8 am, were courteous and polite, and wore shirts bearing the company logo. They cleaned up after themselves to the point that had I not seen the work, I would not have known they were there working. When a shortage of supplies arose, Larry did not charge me for the extra cost stating, "it was my mistake." His carpenters are superior. They capped off the trim in a minor but very professional manner that others may not have bothered with. I will be hiring Richards Construction on my next project!

Painters were very professional and courteous and were careful, thorough, and detail-oriented in their work.    Completed all work to my satisfaction (even though I am very particular about any work being done in my house). They reviewed all work with me at the end of each day and made all requested touch up requests as promised. This was truly a great company to do business with.  Their people are excellent.

We are very happy with the work performed.  The owner (Jesse) came to our house and walked us through the an estimate and what needed to be done.  We were dealing with them in the middle of an office move so a response time / scheduling issue occurred but was quickly resolved.  The team was very professional and took the time to do this right (carefully removing the interior trim around the door to use when it went back in).  The water test says it all - no water in the basement!

Worker expertly diagnosed all issues and fixes related to drafty door and down-draft range.  Also installed trim around stove top expertly.
