Recent Review: Gabby responded promptly to my request for an estimate, sketches out a design during the visit and revised it according to our requests. He gave us some helpful suggestions to save costs as well. He completed the deck work in one day and built and installed the cubbies within a couple of weeks. Everything came out great, and Gaby was a pleasure to work with.

Recent Review: We could not be more pleased with our beautiful new deck, or in the professionalism and excellent craftsmanship of D&E Construction. They were on-time, responsive to our questions, always courteous and friendly, and exceedingly careful with our home, garden and property. They also clearly maintained their supplies and tools with the utmost care. During the course of the project, they identified two additional issues that needed to be resolved before installing the new decking: relocating a dryer vent that was causing an accumulation of lint in the joists of the previous deck, and a gutter spout that was draining behind the deck into the foundation. Both of these issues they resolved in a way that makes our home more secure now than it was when they started. An unexpected rainstorm affected the final finish of the beautiful ipe wood, and D&E came right back to refinish the deck so that we could enjoy its natural beauty and sheen from the start. As new home owners, there is much to appreciate in our home, but we now spend the majority of our time enjoying our new deck. I have already recommended D&E to a family member and a friend, and we will certainly be calling them back when we think about other home repairs and improvement projects in the future.

Recent Review: The work done was very good- I'm very happy with the result. It took a little longer than expected for work to start on the deck, but muchof that had to do with the weather, and the backlog of deck work arising from it. They also were very knowledgeable and provided assistance with some of my realted inquiries. (I wanted to put in an underdeck to finish the roof of the deck and block drips- he gave me a little advice, but honestly told me he had no experience with the product and couldn't install it). They also suggested a repair guy to replace some damaged boards, who worked out fine. Two visits were needed to complete the work. They were very prefessional, good with answering questions, and, most importantly, did a great job- absolutely no regrets. I recommend them without reservation.
Ralph did an excellent job, always on time very professional. Ralph was able to track down a leak in my roof that nobody else was able to diagnose and did it i a timely fashion I would recommend him highly. Steve Babin

AArchadeck - Advantage Design & Construction
We love the new deck! We got other offers for a new deck and the quotes were all within range of each other. (We gave an 'A' for price for that reason.) For us the one thing that set Archadeck apart from the others was the design service. Working with Mark was easy (he was very accomodating to our schedule) and we were able to come up with a design that worked within our budget. Jim and Rick were equally easy to work with...Jim went over all the details and answered our many questions...Rick had the deck completed within a week and a half as quoted. The weather had turned rather cold but Rick showed up every morning on time to complete the deck!

AThe Siding Guy
Great experience. Joe and his crew are reliable and respectful and work hard to get the job done right and to your satisfaction. We replaced our old wood deck with a composite deck with railings (11x10). Joe knew what materials were the best, went over our choices and costs with us, handled all permitting and inspections, and was up front about everything. Joe and his crew were respectful of family with small children, cleaned up every day they worked, showed up when they promised and finished when they promised.

AThe Deck Pros
John met with me at my house to discuss my project. He brought samples of different deck materials and described the pluses and minuses of each based on his experience. This was extremely helpful as I was thinking of a nice mahogany deck; glad I did not go that way - wood decks require high maintenance. There is a wide variety of no maintenance deck materials. I settled on Trex. The crew was great. They were professional, showed up on time every day, and they cleaned up at the end of each day. I was very comfortable having them at the house while I was at work. John was available to answer any questions I had by phone in the evening, and he was very accommodating in making some minor changes that I requested. Best of all, they built a beautiful deck. Everything went smoothly, except for the start date. The project was started a week later than scheduled due to weather delays. This is the second time I have used them; they remodeled my bathroom a while ago.

AArchadeck - Advantage Design & Construction
Overall I would highly recommend Archadeck. They deliver top notch service. Our carpenter, Eric, was amazing and was meticulous with his attention to detail. We love our new deck! The only constructive feedback I can offer is that I asked Archadeck to handle the permit process and for some reason they waited until the Friday before the Monday that the project was scheduled to begin to submit the permit request to the town. As a result, the project was delayed a bit due to not having a permit. My advice would be to make sure they submit the permit well in advance. My town recommends submitting the paperwork 30 days in advance of the anticipated start date. All that said the deck was definitely worth the wait and I would use Archadeck again!

ANeponset Valley Construction
I was very impressed with the owner who came out promptly to give me an estimate. He was a very nice guy who seemed to be very quality oriented. I was extremely impressed by him. He was also very personable. However, due to finances and my need to have a few projects done this summer I decided to choose another contractor who was a bit less expensive.

FMr. Handyman of Central - Eastern Norfolk County & S. Shore
I've used Angie's list to find other contractors including roofing and masonry. Mr. Handyman is the first that required me to pay for them just to come and provide me with an estimate of the project. I've had nearly 15 contractors provide me estimates through Angie's List and this is the first that wanted me to pay upfront and no work was going to be done. I would stay away from a company like this that's just looking to gauge you for money.

AAstonishing Decks, LLC
If we were asked to conceptualize an ideal construction project, we could simply chronicle R.P. Wilkinson’s construction of our new deck. The initial contact and design phase: Rob was punctual and prepared to work with us. He patiently offered helpful suggestions without any pressure. His guidance through the design and decision process made it far easier than we had anticipated. When we had a final concept in mind, he took us to a similar, new deck in a nearby community. The owner of that deck expressed complete satisfaction. Rob provided us with references who were currently building decks; they enthusiastically recommended Rob and his crew. The contract and construction schedule: Rob’s proposal and design documents, which became the basis for the contract, were complete and understandable. In preparation for building our deck in January, footings were dug in early December, before the ground froze. Once construction was scheduled to commence, Rob was outstanding in communicating with us about what would happen and when. The construction of the deck: A two person crew of experienced carpenters worked efficiently and skillfully to build our deck. We were fortunate to have good weather during construction. They were highly organized. Mike, the construction foreman, pointed out and corrected a number of problems from a prior siding project. This was above and beyond. The final product: We are delighted with our new deck – the design, the materials, the construction, and, best of all, the process.

MJM was excellent. Extremely professional and vert responsive. I had them remove the current top layer of wood on my deck and lay down trex. They took their time and every cut was precise. I couldn’t say enough good things about their work. I already have them providing another quote for an additional project. Highly Recommend!!!!!!

FSeal A Deck
I submitted an on-line quote to have our newly installed deck stained and sealed. No response. It took several emails to even have them acknowledge the receipt of the quote. Once acknowledged it took many, many emails to get the owner to call me to discuss and take it to the next step. Just when I was about to give up, I received a call. Michael informed me that my on-line quote was accurate ($699), however because the deck was on the 2nd floor it would cost an additional $250 to rent scaffolding. I accepted ($949). The job was completed as agreed however no scaffolding was used. Just out of curiosity, I questioned Nicole the project manager and she informed me that they don't charge for scaffolding if required so she would have to speak to the owner. Two months go by and I get many apologetic emails from Nicole but nothing from owner. Finally after two months I receive a voice mail from Michael and he says that he misspoke originally in that they don't rent scaffolding but charge the extra $250 if their employees need to use a ladder. At this point I laughed and gave up. I knew there was no amicable resolution. My original hope to set up an annual maintenance contract was scratched. Bottom line, my job was not worth their time so they needed to sweeten the deal. Shame on them.
