Recent Review: We gave Abel Plumbing a try after reading great reviews for them on Angie's List. We went with them because we were unhappy with the company that installed and serviced our cooler for the first year. We originally had them scheduled to come out in the middle of October, but it was so warm we rescheduled them for the end of the month. Rescheduling was not problem at all. Melvin sent out a two-man team. We REALLY appreciated that. It made the service call very expedient. They showed up an hour after our original time, but they called first to let us know that the service call they were on was taking longer than originally planned, so it was not an issue. Both of the service guys seemed knowledgeable and friendly. They both acted in a professional manner, and were polite and courteous. One of the guys, Kirby, actually climbed into our tiny furnace closet to seal up the furnace duct. He said that it had been sealed with regular duct tape, and that it was not up to code. We have lived in this house for 9 years. We have had at least 4 different companies look at our furnace for varying reasons. Kirby was the only one that took the time to identify and fix the leaky vent duct. It is that extra attention to detail that sets these guys apart from all of the others we have dealt with over the years. They gave us a 10% discount for being an Angie's List member. We are extremely happy to have finally found a reliable plumbing and heating company. We are going to tell all of our neighbors about them, and we will definitely be seeing them again in the Spring when it is time to fire up the cooler again.
Recent Review: Called within the time told to say they were in the area. Kitchen fan installed very quickly and electrical work in backyard done. Very pleased and would not hesitate to call them again.
Recent Review: He was thoughtful about his approach and the outcome was excellent. he was on top of details, like having to leave small heating vents int he floor uncovered. This was an Angies list big deal so the pricing was very good.

Recent Review: Very responsive and committed to pleasing his customer and doing good work. Hard to find someone to do small jobs these days. Renato is a real find. I didn't have 2 hours of work for him and his associate to do, so didn't take advantage of the full special, however he did discount his second visit. Very trustworthy.

We had used Google to learn about it, but we still had questions. We called Abel and asked the company to send a tech to winterize our system, which uses an evaporative cooler. It turned out the previous owners had wintetized it just before we closed on the house. Still, Kerby's (the tech) visit was valuable. He walked us through the process of winterizing the cooler and setting it back up when the cooling season returns. He also gave us valuable tips on other aspects of our heating, cooling, and hot-water systems. At all times he was courteous and willing to share knowledge on aspects of running and maintaining our systems that otherwise might have led to a service call. The fee he charged was very reasonable considering the distance he had to travel and the time he spent with us. I think we've found our go-to plumbing/HVAC specialists.

I had thought that they came to do the dryer vent, but actually they came to assess the heating vents and whether they needed cleaning. I saw that someone else wrote a review with the same misunderstanding. They gave me a price for cleaning the vents, which I didn't do then, but may do later. Then they cleaned the dryer vent. We had to reschedule due to both their and my time availability, but they came at the appointed time.

Eddie is an honest and highly skilled electrician. When I bought my home, it needed a lot of work. He re wired my entire house, installed new outlets, new ceiling lighting, a new kitchen fan, among many other tasks over the years. Eddie is trustworthy and takes pride in his work. Whenever I have an electrical issue, I know Eddie is the electrician to call. I highly recommend him.

Finding asbestos in your home can be terrifying. Not only do you wonder whether you have been unsuspectingly breathing fibers, but you also wonder whether you've only just uncovered the tip of the iceberg. In my case, I was also terrified that the cost of removing it would reach in the thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars. I had images of people in moon suits in my head. I contacted three of the asbestos removing contractors that are top rated in Angie's list in the Boston area. One never responded. the other sent someone who didn't speak any English (I found this odd given people who need asbestos removed probably have a ton of questions and probably want to ask them in English; still, I know enough Spanish that I was able to conclude that his assessment was the same as the one from Dudley Services). Dudley Services was, by far, the most responsive and helpful. Sam was wonderful - during his visit to produce the estimate, he took the time to do a really thorough inventory of where asbestos likely was in my home and to explain the risks. He's a fountain of knowledge on asbestos as he's been doing this for thirty years. Maybe most importantly, he got me to stop being so anxious about the whole thing. There was visible asbestos in a heating vent that I'd noticed while cleaning. He confirmed that there is asbestos on the outside of all the heating vents in my home, but also told me that this is quite common and not a source of concern as long as it isn't exposed and is fully contained in the walls. The asbestos was only visible in one heating vent because it had become dislodged when new flooring was put in. Sam simply covered the whole area in fiberglass sheets, and then on a second visit covered the whole thing with this special plaster/paint stuff (don't know what it was). The asbestos is now fully contained on the outside of the the heating vent again. The air that comes from the furnace doesn't touch it. I am *extremely* happy with the work that Dudley services performed, and the price was right.

No one would take this job on until I found Jeff. Special offset Euro hinges were needed and some cabinets required additional construction work before hinges could be mounted. Jeff is very smart, he works fast and efficiently, coming up with creative solutions when obstacles arise. For example, a heat vent is on the floor where the new base cabinets were to be located. No problem, Jeff just zig-zagged the toe strip and built the face frame over it.
