Hmmm, how it did go... Smoothly is the ideal word. As we only have the one bathroom, Cam arranged for a port-a-potty. Unfortunately its December but its been a balmy 50 degrees. Unfortunately, it decided that weekend to go to minus 300, but hardly his fault. :) Heh. But seriously, him and his crew arrived the day it was to begin and started making a list of everything they needed, went over details, decided what to keep and what to toss. By the end of the first hour Cam was on his way to go shopping, and Adam and Carlos were destroying my bathroom! :) End of the first day, bathroom was completely gutted. Then every morning till it was done, the team was there on or before 7am to get to work and one of my dogs Bubba was there to greet them. One thing I do insist on as I run a dog charity Kane's Krusade is that my contractors are dog friendly. Bubba was crated during the heavy moving of items but otherwise roamed free. Both the guys played with him as time allowed. Bubba trained Carlos well to play football with him. Since Cam promised me the bathroom would be done by Christmas, even on Saturday morning, Carlos came and put in a few hours tiling the floor. We added some extra work to replace the subfloor completely and that made up for time. Awesome. They kept the bathroom vanity I liked and fixtures, and cleaned, polished, and stained them as needed and replaced and recaulked the vanity top as they had to remove it to get it out of the room. Crown molding was installed, new baseboards were stained to match thruout, and a new light and fan combo installed which gave new life to the room. By Wednesday, exactly a week after they started they were finished, two days before Christmas. Everything was cleaned up well in the bathroom and the basement where they connected the bathtub drain. Shiny coat of new paint finished the job. Very well done, five stars all around for the work, and the crew was just fun to have in the house all week. Bubba misses Carlos too. :) Highly recommended.
