Recent Review: I have nothing but good things to say about Curt Guenther and Real Dry. This was a complicated project that was well-executed for a reasonable fee. I got a few quotes on the project before proceeding and had all kinds of conflicting advice and a lot of concern from the competing contractors on the difficulty and complexity of the work. Bear in mind that our crawlspace has four separate interior areas and while the height is reasonable at 3-4 feet, to get between the areas you need to crawl on hands and knees. Getting around, excavating, clearing debris is difficult. The floor is sand and rock, which is hard to level. None of the other contractors were willing do everything, so I would have had to break the job into multiple tasks, coordinating between multiple contractors, at greater expense. Curt signed on for the entire project. The work was all completed within a week by a large, competent, hard-working crew. They left no mess on the property. The interior of the crawlspace is now clean and, as promised, dry. All the foundation work is solid and professional. No concerns there at all. I installed a remote-sensing hygrometer to keep track of the humidifier. The hygrometer now reads consistently between 50 and 55% humidity, which is perfect for preserving the integrity of the wood structure. I can feel the dryness of the crawl space whenever I go in it. This was one of those big, scary projects that’s been on my to-do list for a long time and it's a tremendous relief to have it done, and done so well. As an added and unexpected benefit, our house doesn’t have mice anymore. They used to get in through the crawl space and now they can’t. I highly recommend Curt and his team for any project involving basements, crawl spaces, or foundations.

Recent Review: The job went great! The workers were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I was very pleased with the work they did, and I'm happy to know the work is guaranteed... Everyone I'd dealt with and spoken to at Dry Zone made sure I had all the info I needed to make an informed decision about the job.
Recent Review: The job was done very thoroughly. The team came in and did a great job in my crawl space and the products they used seem very high grade. They were on time and cleaned up after themselves nicely. Very professional and did the job that was asked without any problems.
Recent Review: Rescon Basement Solutions was very professional right from the start. They were able to get to our house quickly and provide a quote within just hours of their initial visit. Scheduled the work within a couple weeks and did a great job with the work to be done. They encapsulated a crawl space in our basement that was not easy to get to. They removed lots of debris from the space before getting started and they covered the entire space in thick plastic as well as adding insulation to the floor joists which are under part of our kitchen. Great crew, easy to work with.

He did a great job in a very tight space. And before coming on-site we exchanged several emails to make sure that I had all the right materials for the job. Good work and very thorough

there were make shift doors already in place. what i wanted originally was to make those doors fit better and have a lock placed on them. a pad lock or something would have been fine. it was suggested by bob that the doors be replaced by proper doors (cutting one premade door in half and installing hardware). we talked about it, i was given a price of around $300, which felt like a lot to me since there were already doors there, but i decided to go ahead with it anyway. bob is the contractor who built the place i own, and had done one other job for me, so i trusted him. the job was done and done well. HOWEVER, materials cost $175. $300 for labour. and i still have to paint the doors myself. at one point i went outside with my dog and one of the doors was sitting on a work horse while the 2 guys sent to do the job were sitting in the van. i believe i must have been charged for that time. in reality, the job could have been done in an hour or 90 minutes by one guy who spent the entire hour doing the job and didn't keep going in and out for whatever the reasons were (to sit in the van?). there is NO WAY that anyone can convince me that this job required both 2 guys AND/OR 2.5 hours of labour. i shared my concern with bob but he did not change the price. i feel robbed and cheated. and i will probably be removing the sweeps placed on the bottom of the doors because esthetically they are not pretty (3 of them came in to do that) and the doors are in my front room. i am so disappointed. i wish i could hire him again, but i can't. i will never hire anyone to do a job ever again without a written quote. the b rating for everything but price is related to a couple of things. lack of promptness (he arrived for a scheduled appointment a couple of hours late, by which time i had left my house for another appointment - he didn't reach out to say he would be late). the pricing issue extends into professionalism, though he is a nice guy. in terms of quality, the previous job i had done involved removing draft around 2 doors - one of them was done perfectly, the other one is no better than it was before. some of this could have been overlooked had i been left happy with this most recent job. sadly i was not.

BAvico Mason Contractor Inc
Avico did a good job waterproofing our basement. The only problem was that they didn't remove a bunch of garbage in the basement (we were under the impression that they would) and also they mixed concrete in our yard and damaged some plants. Also, the concrete they poured seems a bit weak - it might have been useful for them to polyurethane over it or something, to make it more durable (the cement chips a bit when we wheel carts in and out of the space...) But overall, they did a good job and kept to the price they quoted.

Very responsive. The office coordinated the schedule and they arrived ontime. Cleaned out old insulation and enclosed 20' X 14' crawl space. The space is now clean and good for storage. Also installed a large dehumidifier which has completely removed the humidity from the basement.

Matt from MCS Environmental was very polite and prompt in answering questions. He did his work as described. We had a slight snag because my buyer performed mold air sampling too soon after the remediation. Matt came back for free and performed the additional work requested by my buyer. The test results that came back after that were perfect. I can happily recommend MCS Environmental for any mold remediation work. His work is excellent by all accounts and far less expensive than others in the field with less expertise (another mold remediation company wanted to charge 4 times as much and take invasive, unnecessary steps).
