Recent Review: Kyle (Owner) went above and beyond on all aspects of the project. I was a little skeptical about the project myself, but Kyle and his team eased my mind after the first day. Kyle was very safe in the tight areas I had him working in and managed his safety very professionally throughout the whole project. I would highly recommend him for any excavation project or fencing project. He also has a lot of foundation experience and will hopefully be pouring a pad for my barn when the opportunity arises.

Recent Review: Not experienced, knowledgeable, and equipped enough to do the job. We paid just under $13,000 to have Daniel excavate our property and and prepare it for building. He assured us that we would be his only job and that he would be committed to it but he very seldom showed up to work and when he did, it wasn't until 6pm in the evening when he would stay a few hours at best. We had a nice long stretch of dry spring weather that he could have made use of and just simply didn't. And he never hired a second equipment operator like he said he would so it was just him and his backhoe. He was anxious to get paid so I wrote him a check with the understanding that if any of the contractors that followed him were to say he didn't do something right, he would come back to correct it. We did get him back to the property once because the foundation couldn't even be poured since he didn't dig the hole big enough, but then when we had someone else come to do our backfill they were taken back by what a terrible job he did. They pointed out that he didn't grade the site in a way that would keep water away from our house and the slope was so bad for the front yard that my husband wouldn't even be able to mow it safely. He also left a couple of trees that he was supposed to cut down and got the wrong size of gravel for the driveway. When I tried calling and texting to have him to correct his mistakes, he completely ignored me. We eventually had to pay another contractor $10,000 to make things right. Thanks to this company, we are $10,000 over budget and at least a month behind schedule. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID IN HIRING THEM.

Recent Review: We had one small wet spot in our yard r/t our septic system. We hired Scott Excavating to fix the problem. He would not give me a price without digging because he said he didn't know what the problem was. I asked for a ballpark depending on the problem. He finally said maybe $4500-$7500. I hired him because he said they could start immediately and that they would bring in topsoil and reseed the yard when they were finished. They also said they could be done by the end of the week, or at the latest Monday of the following week. It took them more than 3 weeks to finish the job. My entire yard was dug up and they brought in 8 loads of (topsoil) it looked like field dirt. It was full of rocks and debris. They did not level off the yard, so now there's a kind of drop off at the bottom instead of a gradual hill. The worst part is they repaired the old system and put in a new system because the materials the system was built with originally are no longer used and were falling apart. That's fine, but when we started up with the new system after a few days, waste was flowing out the bottom into the neighbors yard. We switched back to the old system after calling Scott. We were told to let the ground dry out good and then we could switch back to the new system. We waited a couple of weeks and the same thing happened. I called Scott Excavating and spoke to Scott, the owner, again and he said he would have the health dept come out and meet him here, but it actually took the neighbor calling the health dept to complain before the problem was addressed. Scott didn't even show up, he sent his employees that did the work. The other major issue was the yard itself. We paid him extra to reseed the yard. The only thing growing were weeds and corn. We actually had corn stalks in our yard. We let it continue to grow so Scott could see the yard when he came. They did not prepare the yard. All of the dirt they put down was old hard clumps with rocks. and then they walked through the yard throwing (grass seed) and dropping straw. There are bare spots all over the yard along with the weeds and corn. It looked bad enough the inspectors from the health dept noticed and commented. Scotts employee spoke to Scott and told us they would reseed. The health dept told the employee they want to the yard dug up in a few places so they can make sure nothing is damaged. They were supposed to call the health dept and let them know when they had it dug up. We're still waiting. I've sent Scott an email telling him how dissatisfied we are and that we don't want the yard redone by them, we need to hire a professional to repair the lawn and we want the $800 back for that. That isn't even counting the dirt we paid for. Didn't even get an acknowledgement that I sent an email. This whole process was started the middle of June, here it is the beginning of September, and it's still not resolved. I would never hire this company again.

Recent Review: Wyatt Wilson/Wilson Unlimited was referred by another excavation company that was not available. Wyatt did a great job of telling us exactly what he was going to do and gave us a reasonable estimate for the work. He was professional, punctual, a hard worker and a very nice guy. He did exactly what we asked for and did a great job.

I hired CMB to work on drainage issues in my basement and with my exterior gutters. I couldn’t be happier with the work Jason and his crew did. Not only did they give me an estimate that was more then fair, but they completed the work on the same day. His guys were professional, respectful and well informed—they even replanted the flowers that needed to be dug up to complete the job. I highly recommend this company.

AKeeton Excavating Inc.
The owner, James, met me at my work site and  drove to the property, giving me an estimate at that time.  He estimated to be able to do the job the following week.  Next week had a couple of rainy days.  He did not call me at that time, but when I called, he responded promptly.  He assured me that when the rain cleared, he would begin.  There was a 2 day set back when the folks from city didn't mark the water lines timely.   When the water lines were marked, they proceeded with the project and completed it within a day which was the expectation.  I inspected the project and it was completed exactly how I wanted it.  :) Although, the cost was more than others I had bid the project,  he was prompt in returning calls, I didn't have to chase him down or play lots of phone tag.  He was professional and he got the job done.  I'm pretty sure I would still be waiting on or chasing some of the others I had bids from.  I do not have time for that and am not used to doing business with folks who I can't trust their word or does not show for work.  Thumb up to James and his employees for a job well done!!

ABone-Dry Waterproofing Inc
Workers arrived on time and worked steadily over two days to do waterproofing. Foreman was polite and professional and kept me informed of progress. Work on downspouts was added to project after discussion with foreman. Every effort was made to contain dust.  I am pleased with the work and hopeful that it has solved my wet basement problems.
