Recent Review: I needed a new central AC for my house. I got two estimates, and decided on Apollo because their pricing and financing options were more competitive. With both estimates, I felt that the product, warranty, qualified installers, and response time were comparable. I was pleased with the installation, and general performance of the Apollo service reps. As an example, the day after the installation, I noticed an oily substance leaking from one of the refrigerant lines. They responded within two hours, did a thorough check out, and found that there was some residual refrigerant on the inside of the AC housing that had run down and dripped on the base. Quick response and qualified service rep. What has left a bad impression in dealing with Apollo on this matter, is the way I chose to finance the work using an "18 months interest free" contract. I'm a big fan of interest free loans, and this played a significant role in my decision to choose Apollo. After receiving my account information on the financing, I noticed an "activation fee" over and above my contracted amount with Apollo. I called the finance company on two occasions, and also contacted Apollo to get an answer about the added charge. I got a different answer about the fee each time I called Apollo and the finance company. I told Apollo that they should credit me the additional fee, and then work it out themselves with the financing company. I haven't heard anything from Apollo in a few days now, and assume they are hoping this will go away. I expect issues to arise in contracts such as these, so the degree to which a company stands behind their commitments carries a lot of weight in my reviews. At this point, I can't say I would recommend Apollo because in the end, they have given me verbal explanations, but really aren't stepping up on this one.
