Recent Review: My wife liked the flooring that they had. They were really good. The salespeople were really nice. The installers were great. My wife called me to tell me the she liked the flooring she found, so I came over after work and looked at it, and that was that. They did a really good job. They get "A"s across the board. I would use them again when we get ready to do the downstairs.

Recent Review: In the showroom, the salesman (Jerry) was very helpful in deciding between vinyl and laminate flooring in my kitchen. He pointed out the pros and cons of each. Once I made the selection, we made an appointment for him to measure and quote a final price. He arrived on time and gave me a cost right away. While he was there, he looked at another area I'm considering replacing, and advised me on the best solution for that as well. I found Jerry to be very knowledgeable and considerate. Once the flooring was ready, he called to schedule a drop-off time and an installation date. The installer, Curtis, arrived on time and installed the floor in a few hours. He was very polite and even offered to help return some storage pieces to the kitchen for me. The quality of the floor is excellent. It withstood heavy Christmas activities and looks great. I really like that Carpetland uses their own installers and does not subcontract their work. I had a bad experience with Home Depot subs a few years ago, so I wanted a company with direct reports to do my next job. After the installation, Jerry called to check on the work and ask if we were satisfied with our floor. I highly recommend Carpetland, and I will shop with them again.

Reviews in Florence to Install Laminate Flooring

We have used Cody for many projects around the house, this time he installed some laminate flooring. As with every project he has done for us, it turned out wonderfully!!! He is always professional, honest and fair. Look forward to using him for many years to come.

FAPPLIED TECHNOLOGY
We purchased laminate flooring and had an installer come out. He removed the current carpet flooring and found asbestos. I tried to find an installer who would take care of it because of the asbestos and came across Michael (of Applied Technology) after calling companies that might be able to help. I was actually referred to him by his brother who works with an Asbestos company. Applied did cost a little more, but I assumed it was because of the asbestos. Once the job was completed I asked about the asbestos, and was told it was only present in the location the previous installer had seen, so I feel I paid the extra for nothing. Two weeks later two planks raised. I have tried contacting Michael and his brother but have never been called back. It has been almost a year of this.

FThe Floor Doctor
They were referred to me by the local Lumber Liquidators store. It took 10 days after the walkthrough to get a proposal, and another 10 days after the flooring was delivered to get a callback to set a time for installation. I had given them a specific time by which the job had to be done all through the process. Once I finally got a call to set a date for installation, they couldn’t even start until the date it was supposed to be finished, and offered a list of excuses. Lumber Liquidators found another installer to do the work, and they called me on a Sunday night to schedule an install for the next day. They’re doing a great job and will be done when I need it to be done. The Floor Doctor was a waste of my time and effort and they lost a $6500 installation job because they couldn’t get their act together.

The kitchen floor is now cracking in four or five spots. Additionally, the floor was cut too short and now the sub-flooring is showing through in a couple of spots. When I called him about it he became very confrontational and kept blaming the issue on the flooring and not on his installation. He continued his tirade while on the phone with me until he eventually hung up on me.

ASIMPLY FLOORS
In the sales room, we were greeted promptly and given excellent service as we decided what type of flooring would be best for us.  We were given just the right amount of help selecting several samples to take home.  At home, we actually chose the sample the salesperson suggested.  The installers arrived right on time and were very professional.  They completed the job in two days and cleaned up nicely each day.  Our floors are beautiful and I just love them.  I was very happy with every part of this, and will definitely use Simply Floors again in the future.

Installers were awesome. They took the time to do things right. I am a perfectionist, and I could not find a single thing to criticize. They went above what was required, even helping me with little home repairs. For example, they noticed the lock on my sliding glass door was loose and fixed it. They were very considerate of my neighbors, important because I live in a condo. They were polite and professional. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again when it comes time to redo my kitchen. I am very, very pleased.

FBUCKEYE WOOD FLOORS
On July 18, I called Angie's List to report that Keith or his assistant had spilled something on one of my upholstered chairs.  I asked them if they had spilled water on the chair.  Keith's reponse was incredibly rude and unprofessional - "No, I peed on it."  Keith delivered the laminate to my home a few days before installation.  Installation began on July 18.  I immediately had a reaction to the laminate - burning eyes, throat, skin, lungs and a headache.  (The manufacturer's insert specifically mentions that the wood dust is a carcinogen and that sawing can produce wood dust that can cause respiratory, eye and skin irritation).  I mentioned my reactions to Keith immediately.  That day they completed the family room and the living room.  The next morning, my symptoms continued.  I called the manufacturer and the retailer and determined that I would return the material.  Keith and his assistant removed the material and returned it to the retailer on July 19.  While they were removing the material, they both noted the amount of wood dust that was on the foam placed beneath the laminate.  I paid Keith the amount due for the work he had done. Keith did not take the proper precautions (as noted on the manufacturer's instructions) when cutting the laminate; hence the amount of wood dust brought into my house.  I had a friend come over to assist with cleaning the dust on July 19.  However, by that time, the wood dust had entered the duct system and had been blown throughout the house. The contractors I hired to clean up the house and ready it for sale, noted the amount of wood dust and took samples of the wood dust from various areas of my home - and this was several weeks after the installation.    On July 20, I moved out of my house and have not been able to live there since.  I called Keith twice to ask him to clean up the wood dust left when he improperly cut the laminate.  He returned neither call.  On August 7, I e-mailed Keith about cleaning up the wood dust.  His response was that he had contacted his lawyer to prepare for small claims court as I had subsequently cancelled the check I had given him.  Keith also threatened to file a lien on my property until he received payment.  To date, I have received no formal notification of either threat. Since Keith did not follow the manfacturer's instructions in installing the laminate, I do not believe that he is owed the amount for work performed.  Further, I have incurred innumberable expenses since moving out of my home - including medical bills, boarding costs for my dogs, hotel bills and amounts paid to a contractor to clean and ready my house for sale. etc.  (I had not planned on selling my house).  I am certain there will be other costs incurred before this is over.  Since the date of installation I have had continued medical issues and have found it difficult to work. I would like Keith to pay for all the expenses I have  incurred or will incur due to improper installation.  I would like his company to cover any loss I may take on my home as I attempt to sell it and any costs incurred to purchase a new home. Further, I would like the name of his insurance carrier and his attorney so that I may attempt to resolve this issue, if he is unwilling to take responsibility. Please note that I use the name "Keith" and Buckeye Wood Floors" interchangeably.  Ultimately, Keith and his company, Buckeye Wood Floors are responsible for that which is noted above.
