Business Description: i currently have 3 employee's, i do not use any subcontractors, we charge a flat fee $60.00 for service calls and that fee reduces after the first hour to $48.00 per. hour we also do job bidding for any kind of work in our trades we offer senior discount's 10% for all senior's and military personel.
I call Randy Tennill to get them to work on my geothermal unit. Another company had install the new thermostat and it was not program right. My back up heat strips was not coming on. Randy sent Phil out to work on this unit and he was here a couple of hours trying to get the unit right. He put a jumper wire on my furnace thermostat and change a couple of setting downstair and the furnace came on and kept up with the house. But in the process now the furnace ran all the time. I call them back to let them know and left a voice mail with the office. But than I remember that the service man call me from my gate and I had his number on my phone. He told me that he will come back out but it will be Friday. Than Randy call back and told me that he did not realize that this was a 2 stage system and that even thou the system was keeping up that this was still not right that he would send Phil back out tomorrow. So I waited and waited and I had to cancel several Doctors appt. To stay home all day waiting for them. So I call Randy office and left a voice message asking what time would they be out. About 3:00pm Randy call all upset and told me that I was bothering him when they were people was without heat and that he was going to tear up the check and for me to get someone else. At this late of the day. I have had 2 open heart surgery in 3 months and lost me husband of 25 years. I did not need this added stress, nor did I need another $500.00 Heating bill. All I wanted was for them to fix the furnace right the first time. If they would have just waited a little longer they would have realize that the furnace was never going to shut off. And fixed it while they were here. Then to call and treat me like I did something bad by asking about what time was they coming out was a sin.

I received the following from Climate Control: the outstanding customer service; competent technicians; very competitive pricing; the job was finished in a timely manner; and the new heat pump has lowered my heating and air bills substantially. I have referred friends and relatives to Climate Control and they, too, have had similar experiences. With all the trouble I had with a 10+ year old geothermal unit, I have had the "opportunity" to have several different heating and air companies service the geothermal -- I should have contacted Chris Fugmann at Climate Control years ago! I also like the fact that Climate Control has been in this type of business for over 30 years. Lastly, new Climate Control customers don't really need to bother checking all the references that Climate Control provides for the asking -- I did that and their feedback was just like mine. You really can't go wrong.

I have geothermal heat/air. Air would knock off breaker, as well as, heat in winter part at times. Repairman came out and check system thoroughly finding two wires that were touching outside of the compressor. I have had the air since repaired and breaker has not kicked off. Repairman was very professional and polite.

I had to call them out in 11/03 because the furnace was not working. 1/04 found that the switch was not working. In 12/05 lost pressure in unit . 1/3/06still loosing pressure. Replace coil . Replace mother board. 1/6/06replace thermostat and fill Freon. 1/10/06 replace thermistor. 6/07freon. 12/09 clean and check. 2/11 they came out and could find any fault. Fault light keeps coming on.3/11 System light keeps coming on 12/11clean and service. 5/12 not cooling properly. I would have to pay $500. Utility bills for the month of Jan. and Feb. They have replace every part in this unit over the pass 10 years of warranty. The only way you can get them to come out pronto is to take out their service plans. I have servicemen come out and do absolutely nothing, and still have the same problems and have to call them back and wait for them to come back out. Meanwhile I was running on emergency heat the whole time. They have replace every part on this furnace. The last thing that I replace was a thermostat that cost me $590. When I got tire of them not fixing the problem and the warranty was running out they decided that I needed a new furnace. When I let them come out to size it, they were going to put the same size in but it was supposed to be a better product now. I call in another furnace man in and he said that I had to much flow in my loops. And since at the time it was still under warranty by 3 months, he said that he was going to have to put a part on that would slow the water flow down, but since it was under warranty that he was going to have to get the part from Rick Allgeier since he save money by handling the warranty instead letting water furnace handle it. Well, you can tell I did not get the part. In return I took back seasonal cleaning package and I will never use them again. It is Jan. 2014. My $590.00 Thermostat that they put in and charge was not install properly. It was not allowing my back up heat strips to come on. I call Allgeier and was told that I had to wait a day because I didn't have the premier account (that is the account that you pay $240. To have them come out twice a year to have them service the geothermal) so I have to wait until the next day. I immediately called another heating and air company that deals with Geothermal they came right out within an hour, and they told me that they left off the jumper wire that turns on the back up heat when the temperatures got too low. It cost me for the service and 2 hours to go over my furnace to make sure everything was working all right. I would not have had this problem if it was install right to begin with.Remember I paid $590. for this thermostat that was going to fixed all of my problems. Ha! I hope that no one else will ever experience this. Remember they are the ones that put this furnace in to begin with. They like to make excuses and blame the Water furnace for the problems, but they were the ones that recommended this furnace to begin with. The Water Furnace was supposed to be the best Geothermal unit out there. Now they claim that this unit is bad and there way to fix the problem is to buy another Water Furnace unit (newer and better) version. I am done, done, done with this company.

On 29 May 2015, Medley?s Heating & AC Serviceman (Neil) installed and entire new GEO system. Upon completion, Neil indicated there was a problem with the unit in that it would not operate on both stages. Neil indicated he would talk to the owner Chris Medley. The next week Chris called me and indicated that the failure to operate the stage was not because of the new system but that he would get the part and provide it to me a cost. I told him I found that confusing because the malfunctioning part was attached to the old GEO system and is now attached to the new GEO. Additionally, the part solely works for the GEO Thermal unit; and that I paid to put the new system that would perform as promised in both stages to include the economical stage; currently it is not working. Chris Medley said he would order the part. According to him he ordered the part and it was the wrong part. He again ordered the part, said it came in, and set an appointment to install the part - yet he never showed without notifying me why. I called again to query about this failure to show to repair and the failure to provide filters (he indicated he would provide). He sent Neil back with the filters and Neil indicated that he needed to check some number for the new part and should get it in a couple weeks (Aug 2015) (Third time he ordered the part). Again, no response. Over the last couple months, I have contacted Medley?s and asked Betty (administrative personnel) to have Chris Medley contact me to resolve. He is not returning my call ? this problem has now been going on for 6 months. I am not certain whether or not I should have the system serviced because of his lack of communication with me. I have not talked with him in months after repeated attempts to contact him. As a side note, I received from certificate with Mars/Century, Comfort-Aire reading ?We are pleased to advise that your Geothermal Heat Pump has qualified for a 10 Year labor warranty. This means your equipment has been installed correctly and is operating at peak performance.? Obviously it was not. So I called and talked to Chad Baker a technician Heat Controllers (manufacture) on 1 Dec 15. I explained the situation, he told me that the reason the certificate was sent is because of the numbers Medley?s provided based on the start-up. The numbers Medley?s provided indicated that the system was operating at peak performance. Chad Baker indicated that Heat Controller can only trust the numbers Medley?s put on the start-up sheet. Chad was also confused how the numbers were obtained if the system was not working properly nor did he understand why problems were not immediately addressed. He recommended that I get a more reputable service provider to look and determine the problem. He suggested that I contact Johnstone Supply for help on finding a reputable service provider. Johnstone Supply suggested Dever Enterprises to service my system. I contacted Dever Enterprises they were able to figure out the problem and fixed it within an hour. The system had a jumper wire that was not required, wrong setting and need water in the system.

On November 7 2014 my heating and cooling unit (geothermal water furnace) came on and immediately went back off twice then made a humming noise. I shut the unit completely off. On November 8 2014 I called Appalachian Heating and Cooling, described what had happened. One of the techs called me back, told me to turn the fan on continuously until they could get out here on Monday. I did just that and it worked fine. On November 10 2014 two techs came out, checked it out, one of the techs came in, told me it needed a contactor because it was going bad and that was all they could find wrong with it. They would need to order it and would call to let me know how much it was going to cost before ordering it. I paid the $82 service charge and they left. On November 12 2014 the same tech called me about 1:00 p.m. to tell me he was in the area and had my part, did I want him to come and put it in. I asked him how much the part was and he replied " All I know is it will be $160 for parts and labor, didn't they call you before ordering it?" I told him they hadn't called but come on and put in in. He arrived at 2:00p.m. Told me it was fixed and accepted my $160 for payment and left at 3p.m. On November 14 2014 at 6 a.m. I got up and the unit wasn't working. At 8:30a.m. I called Appalachian Heating and cooling, told them about it not working. I was told they were backed up and couldn't get out here until Monday. So I built a fire in my wood burner (that is for emergency power outages) and plugged in two oil filled heaters. On November 17 2014 a different tech came out. He was here about an hour, told me the transformer had blown and that it blew two of his that he tried in the unit. He said he would have to get their electrician to come out with him to find the problem because it had a short. He also said it would cost me an additional 4-5 hundred dollars to fix it. He charged me $100 for the two transformers that it blew and left. On November 20 2014 since I hadn't heard from the tech I called and spoke with one of the owners. He said I shouldn't have been charged the $100 because it was under warranty from the work they had already done and he would have them come back out. Also on November 20 2014 the original tech came out, repeated to me what the other tech had said and left. Frustrated with this company I called another company. On November 26 2014 the other company came out and looked at my unit. This is what they found: The contactor wasn't mounted to the box, it was hanging by the wires connected to it. Wires were loose and hanging in the unit. (He would need a wiring schematic to fix the wires before he could even diagnose the problem) The burnt out transformer had one wire on it that shouldn't have been on it and the rest of the wires weren't connected at all. One section of the duct was removed and left completely unattached. So the same day, November 26 2014 I called Appalachian Heating and Cooling and spoke with the other owner. He said he couldn't make it out here that day and he would be out of town for the holiday he would come out on Monday (today) He came out with the tech that left it in that condition and told me his workers wouldn't have done that. That the unit was a mess and he would have to get a schematic before he could make any sense of it, blamed it on the other company and left. Note: The second company went to view the unit with my son so it was in that condition when the second company got there. Now here I sit telling you my problems because my grand daughter and I have to use up our emergency wood to keep warm now and I don't know how I am going to keep us warm when that is gone. Not to mention when the power is out. This is a disgrace!!!!!
