Recent Review: He recommended replacement of a non-functioning electrostatic filter and modifications/repairs required for a non-functioning humidifier. After my agreement, he installed the new filtration system and repaired the humidifier with a new humidistat, water filter, and a cleaning. I expected him to recommend a new humidifier since I had had another provider look at it and never say anything !  We discussed a filter condition moniter and maintanence to the AC system. He will be back when the temperatures warm for completion of his work.

Recent Review: The new furnace was a life saver this past winter. We recently purchased a historic home with no insulation. We've heard stories about our house from past tenants where their gas bills were $400-$500 per month in the winter. When we had Chuck's come down to inspect our situation we found out the +30 year old furnace was way too big for our house, and super inefficient. By going with a new, efficient gas furnace we were able to save over $200 a month this winter. Chuck's also installed a new Honeywell WiFi thermostat which is amazing. It works from any smart phone device. As long as you have WiFi, you can control your HVAC system anywhere in the world. There's nothing better than being 10 mins from home and cranking up the heat to walk into a nice toasty home.

Recent Review: After checking with some other contractors, we were referred to Robbins from a friend. Unlike the other contractors we dealt with, Robbins was thorough and responsive. I spoke to David in late morning, and he was the only person that offered to come out to my house to assess my needs - and he did it the same day. He spent 1-1/2 hrs at my house measuring, calculating and consulting with me about my options. Being an information n***, I ask many questions and he was patient and answered all of my questions. The technicians arrived at 9am and completed the job at 5:30pm. They were very focused, came prepared and had everything they needed. They were courteous and polite. They aren't just installers or technicians, they are excellent craftsmen and care about the quality of their work.

Recent Review: Josh and his team were very nice to work with, they kept true to the estimate, and even started earlier than expected. The only issues that I really had with them were the changes that they and quot;took the libertyand quot; of doing upon themselves. My wife and I just had to pay a large amout of money to stabilize our house, which included a sump pump and a dehumidified in our crawlspace under the house. To be able to get to the devices for service etc.. there is one small opening between the two sections of the foundation. I asked that Eand M would knock a new hole in the wall and run our ductwork through there. Instead they used our floor as part of the ductwork for the return air, and ran a new line through the existing opening. Now we are unable to service our equipment in case anything breaks because we can no longer get it out from under the house. They also told us that they did not reconnect one of our vents because it was and quot;overkilland quot; for that room. That is fine, and I appreciate them letting me know these things, but I pointed out that it was that way in the quote so I would expect some discount for them not having to do the work. Since they didn't knock the hole in our foundation, and used less duct work because they used part of the floor as the return air, I also stated that I expected the bill to reflect that as well. They agreed, and everything was good until I got the bill. It was exactly as the first quote has stated. I called Josh and inquired about the changes and he said that he forgot and would adjust the bill accordingly, he did some figuring and said that the best he could do is drop the price by $50. We went ahead and paid them, but I should have said and quot;If $50 is all that we will save, knock the hole in the wall, run our new ductwork, and run to that vent that we don't needand quot;. Overall, they did good, but they left us with a pretty big problem if / when our equipment under the house fails.

We bought a service contract with them, and I like that they are prompt and organized.  We had a problem with the humidifier and they found out that there was a recall on it, so they brought us a new one and installed it.  We will continue to use their services in the future because we have a maintenance contract with them.

It was the wee hours of the morning when I went upstairs (an area seldom used) to find the carpet soaked with water — apparently coming from the bathroom.  Called Scott at Somerset Restorations, and left a message.  He called me back at 4AM (yes, 4AM!!!) and said he could be at my house by 8:30AM.    He arrived promptly, trouble-shot the issue, explained it to me, and fixed it!  He even brought out a dehumidifier, which he left at my house for a week (at no additional charge) to dry out the wood and the carpet.  He also installed a cabinet over the tub in my main downstairs bath as an additional project.   He was prompt, courteous, professional and did a GREAT job!  I'll definitely use him again for any number of projects in the on-going renovation project I call home!

In 2010 we had a humidifier installed on our furnace for the sole purpose of keeping our hardwood floors from cracking. Since installation this humidifier has never worked properly. What's worse is the people working at Robbin's are extremely rude and unhelpful. Twice when talking to them about problems with the humidifier, I've been hung up on. One of their servicemen came out to check the system when it wasn't working and told us it was fine and working properly. When I called the following week to say I still didn't think it was working, they sent another repairman who informed us it was NOT working and the humidistat part would need to be replaced. Our most recent experience with them began this past week when I called and asked them to come out again (they had already been here back in November). I was told they would send someone, and that I would NOT be charged. When the repairman left this morning, he told me it was fixed and slapped a $120 bill down in front of me. He then informed me "they just couldn't run out here for free every time we had a tiny problem." I signed the bill, stupidly. The worst part is, after he bullied me into signing the bill, we realized the system still was not working and he had to return an hour later.
