Recent Review: After seeing their product at the Minneapolis Home & Garden show we were convinced that this was the right product for our porch improvement work. The guys from EZ-Screen brought samples to our home to help us select frame color and installation method. They took careful measurements of all of the window and door openings and put our order in motion. A few weeks later our windows and door were delivered. We did this work at the same time we had some exterior siding work done by another contractor. We arranged to have that contractor do the actual installation of the EZ-Screen product. The rep from EZ-Screen came out to our site when the installation started to ensure that our contractor understood how to properly install the windows and door. Everything went smoothly and contractor commented on how easy the windows went in. After three full seasons of use we still enjoy the product and we're pleased that we chose this as part of our porch renovation. It has added several additional months to our porch usage in our short Minnesota summer seasons. I highly recommend this product for any new screen porch or porch renovation job!

Recent Review: They had a lot of challenges because we have a lot of trees, and a big concrete porch that they had to take out. It took them a little longer than they had expected. I am very pleased with the quality of the work, as it seems to be very sturdy. I would recommend him to anybody else because of his professionalism and because of how open and honest he is with his customers.

Recent Review: It started with adding on to the house, Part house addition and the rest a garage overall size 36x32. Then we also took off the vinyl siding which had been damaged and installed Hardi Plank siding. Then we also reroofed the upper level of the house due to hail damage. They suggested we replace the lower level shingles so they would match the rest of the house which made sense and needed done. They offered to do it at the cost of the shingles and no labor. They also framed some pillars on the porch and put laminate flooring in the kitchen and the new house addition. All of this happened very quickly and smoothly from the estimate to the foundation pour (which was done by Heartland Concrete and they were also excellant and very proffessional) to the final finishing touches. The house looks GREAT! and I still have some money left in the bank:)

Recent Review: Immediately upon contacting Home Resort Inc. via Angie's List, I received a phone call, and a date and time was set for discussing the project.  Mr. Maltbie arrived promptly, and we discussed the plan.  I was given many suggestions for completing my current project with helpful ideas for staying within my budget and for planning for future improvements.  Before leaving, after several hours of examining the work area, informing me of the options for payment, and giving suggestions for the necessary supplies, Chuck, quickly replaced a piece of weather stripping that I showed him I had purchased.  Also, before driving away, he noted a sagging garage door entry and quickly repaired it without my asking.  After purchasing the necessary supplies for the project, Home Resort, Inc. picked up and delivered the materials for a minimal payment we had agreed on beforehand.  Work began on the project with completion of the following:  Repairing wood rot,  removing and replacing three deck pieces to prevent further water damage.  Also completed, transporting heavy table to basement, replacing another piece of weather stripping and repairing a leaky faucet. Following the delivery of supplies and completing some minor repairs, Chuck returned to complete the installation of an exterior storm door, caulk around the dried wood rot repair, install a pre-hung bathroom door in the basement,  install baseboard board trim and door trim.  Without my asking, Chuck quickly repaired another sticking door that another contractor had installed.  The project was completed later when Mr. Maltbie returned to transport my refrigerator from the garage to the basement.  He completed the trim around the rest of the baseboard, the bathroom door, and the window.  The door knob was installed.  Overall, I was pleased with the project.  The project was completed in a timely manner.  Mr. Maltbie was quite cordial to work with and was helpful in giving suggestions and allowing me to watch his performance and to teach me some of the tricks of the trade.  He was quick to give me references for me to contact.  He also sent photos of other projects he had completed.  These photos helped me to envision how my project would look beforehand.  I will definitely consult with Home Resort before completing other projects.

APyle General Contracting LLC
All jobs performed by the Pyle General Contracting crew were professionally completed, no shortcuts, all new materials used with no skimping. From the time the crew arrived until lunch break they worked, returned on time and completed the work scheduled that day. At the end of all completed work, crew members cleaned up and removed all leftover debris, you would not have known they were there at all!

CG & S PROPERTY MAINTENANCE
I found Gary through an email list, where he was asking for handyman work. I asked for references and found that he had walked off a previous job site due to personal problems with the employer. I was sympathetic from having similar problems myself, so I decided to hire him anyway and give him a second chance. He was difficult to pin down to a specific day and time. He has no car of his own and so relies on his wife and friends to bring him and his equipment to the job site. On more than a dozen occasions he said he would be here at a specific day and time but showed up hours or days later without calling to reschedule. He was difficult to reach by phone because his phone service kept being disconnected for days or weeks at a time. When he did show up, the quality of his work was excellent, his work quick and his fees very reasonable. However, on two occasions he offered to do additional work for free and then did not complete it. He bought a piece of finish flooring to go on top of the porch floor(which was not part of our original deal) and promised to install it on several occasions but did not do so. I don't have the tools to do it myself, so it is still sitting on the porch. He promised to put trim on the basement windows(again, not in our contract for the job), but ran out of time and did not return to do it. I assured him that I would pay for his time to finish both jobs, but he could not be pinned down to a time. Because of his unreliability, I cannot recommend Gary and will not use him again.

FHOME PRO
We went to Homepro of Joplin to purchase fencing for our new dog. Our salesman convinced us that a sun room addition and new gutters and drains would solve the water problem we were having (but didn't know we had). We were told that the job would take 1-2 weeks. The salesman, "Ron", said they would "swarm" our house and have the work completed in a couple of days. We didn't really need the work done, but he was a VERY convincing salesman. This was in August. When the weather started to turn cold, we suggested that they wait until spring to do the job, and asked that they put our fence in. Because they wanted the money up front, and winter is slow for them, they went ahead and tore out our front and back porches, leaving the only access to the house through the garage. It stayed that way throughout the holidays. They poured new concrete in the dead of winter. It has since cracked and shifted, and the swelling of the patio as it dried made the existing brick wall buckle and crack. It is not fixable, and needs to be demolished now. They began building the sun room addition by using yet another 3rd party, and even I, a layman, could tell it was not being framed correctly. There were huge gaps between roof and wall supports, inferior lumber was used, and nails were sticking out everywhere because they missed the beam with the nail gun. No matter how many times I complained or questioned the standard of work, they would not fix it. Our fence, a black aluminium picket, was supposed to have 4x4 posts. They are 2x2. The whole fence rattles with the slightest breeze. The aluminium is so fragile that our dog (medium) can squeeze through by bowing out the pickets. The gate has no handle, and is impossible to open from the outside, requiring both hands to open it by reaching over the gate. If I had purchased the fencing materials at a home improvement store and had someone install it, it would have cost less than 1/10 what Home Pro charged us. The metal they used for the soffit and fascia is ugly and looks like a cheap trailer house. The gutters are not level, and they pour water from every corner of the roof. The water problem we didn't know we had is now very obvious. The whole house is settling as a result. Three years later we still have terrible problems, and cannot get the company to respond. The concrete cracked when the weather warmed, the existing brick wall was not supported when they poured the concrete, and burst it's seams. It must be removed now. The siding on the addition warped the first summer and looks absolutely hideous. The plastic windows came loose from their frames and let in bugs and dirt. The window frames do not open and close, presumably because of the aforementioned settling. The yard is a swamp because their "cleanup" involved scraping off our topsoil, and the underground drains, which they destroyed our french drain system to bury, fill with leaves and do not empty. The addition itself was built so poorly that we had to get another contractor to correct it in order to be able to finish the interior of the addition. A huge section of the metal fence bent and is down. Home Pro won't even tell us the Brand, so that we can purchase a replacement section of fencing. These and many more problems (no city permits or inspections for one) have left us with an eyesore and a money pit. John at Home Pro will not return our calls or emails. We trusted them because they ran television ads with satisfied customers singing praises. It never dawned on me that they would not even leave the Home Pro sign in the yard once the mess was apparent to passers-by. Two weeks turned into nearly a year, and still the job is 1/2 finished. In our small town, we could have purchased an entire house for what we paid to have our nice one trashed. I would warn even my worst enemy against using Home Pro of Joplin, MO. Don't believe their tv ads. They are NOT honest, they don't do their own work, and they are VERY expensive. Add that to the non-existent customer service, and it's a perfect storm of nightmare proportions.
