Recent Review: Installation went smoothly - they arrived on time, took as long (~half a day) as estimated, and did a great job both technically and aesthetically (aside from the PVC pipe on the side of the house, which isn't really their fault). Our radon levels in the basement dropped from well above the recommended limit to basically background numbers. I give them a 'B' on price because their estimate was 50% more than the second estimate we got. We asked, and they matched the lower number without complaint.

Recent Review: Chris was everything we needed for our home inspection. We are first time home buyers, getting into a tiny 900 sq ft project home. He helped us go in with eyes wide open. We asked tons of questions, which undoubtedly slowed him down, but he answered knowledgeably and patiently. There were so many reportable items on the home (issues he'd include in his report), that he did not have time to build the report as he went, which is usually his practice. This, however, did not effect the timeliness of his report or the thoroughness of his inspection. He even contacted us later with an item he had forgotten to include, which we would have never thought of ourselves. That kind of honesty and integrity is much deserving of respect. His report was not exhaustively long, just right at 17 pages with clear notes and pictures. He took 3 hours to do the inspection (but had to spend personal time completing the report, as mentioned above), which was the time he estimated it would take. His price was more competitive than other companies, presumably because of low overhead. We were very impressed by his inspection and very appreciative of his manner and enthusiasm, even for a dinky little home like ours.

Recent Review: Rich is a great guy and knows what he is doing!  We first met Rich last fall when he agreed to help our organization by inspecting the homes that we rehabilitate.  Hearts & Hands is a non-profit organization that serves the near Westside of Indianapolis by purchasing homes, rehabilitating them, and selling them to low income families.  Rich took a radon test of a home that we were in the process of rehabbing.  He showed up on time, had all of the necessary equipment with him, and performed the test.  Afterwards, he printed out a detailed report of the radon levels in the house for us.  Not only does he do radon testing but can perform a whole list of inspections on your home.  I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a skilled home inspector who will treat you fairly and give you straightforward answers to your questions!

I did not deal with Karen directly—our home inspector coordinated the radon test both times. (We had two homes inspected.) But the results were returned quickly and, in the case where the home had high radon levels, a detailed proposal for a radon mitigation system was also provided. I was very pleased in both cases. Knowing what I know now, next time I would schedule a radon test on my own to save a little money. The additional amount we paid to the home inspector for a radon test was higher than the cost of the radon test would've been had I booked directly with Pure Air.

I sent a request for service through the Angie's List site and no response was received even after one month. I contacted Radon Technology via Angie's List site after waiting about three weeks for a response from Radon Environmental. Radon Technology quickly responded, quoted the job, and did a fantastic job. If you want responsiveness, contact Radon Technology instead of Radon Environmental.

Jay provided both the estimate and the installation. He was great to work with and completed the work on time and exactly as needed. The radon levels were dropped as promised to a very low level (0.7 pCi/l).

A radon test of my basement showed Radon levels above the EPA recommendations of 4.0. I contacted Tim Hinojosa of Radon Technology Company who came out to my house and examined my basement. He carefully reviewed my basement and briefed me on the methods for reducing Radon emissions. He then sent me a proposal carefully explaining all the details that needed to be done and the price for the work. He even included the expected annual costs to operate the system. I accepted the proposal. He and a coworker arrive right on the agreed time and date and went to work. Tim worked in the basement and his coworker worked outside. They were a real coordinated team. In about 3 and 1/2 hours they were done. The installation was very neat and everything was cleaned up. Tim left a Radon measurement device in my basement which was read several days later as 1.9. I was very pleased with the work and the results.

Tim did a very fine job. His workmanship was excellent, and the radon level was reduced below the state guideline. Tim was very knowledgeable about radon reduction and was a pleasure to work with.

AAFFORDABLE RADON & MOLD SOLUTIONS/AFFORDABLE RAD
Provider was used as a subcontractor--hired by our home inspector. We are purchasing a new home and several people had suggested radon would not be an issue given this particular home has a crawl space and radon has not typically been high in surrounding area. We went ahead with a radon test just to make sure and found that radon levels were high enough to warrant a mitigation system. Thankful we purchased the test. The test took 2 days with a continuous monitor. Results were delivery the next morning after the testing device was picked up from the home.

Our house already had a radon system when we moved in about two years ago. I did a radon test and found our levels were elevated (between 4 and 6 pCi/L). I did not have information on who originally installed our radon system, so I called Radon Environmental to see what we could do. Chris from Radon Environmental came out and tested our system and found that it wasn't drawing well. He also noted that the outside exhaust was installed incorrectly (too low and too close to a window) and that the fan size in our system was not ideal. He thought he could fix the problem by digging a bigger suction pit for the system but noted that an additional suction line might be necessary. We have an unfinished basement with a dirt crawl space that extends about 1/3 of the floor space, so we decided to seal that. He thought that would help with the radon and noted that it would help with allergies as well. When he came to do the work, he was able to fix it without adding another suction line, which saved us money. Radon Environmental was experienced, friendly, prompt, and professional. I recommend them without hesitation.

We bought a house this year and found that the radon level was around 4pCi/l. We would like to install a radon control system. I contacted some companies. Mike was very responsive and patient with my questions before and after the installation. On the day of installation, the technician came in time. He worked efficiently and cleaned the spots. He found that our basement had a floor drain so he deducted it from the price. The day after the installation, our digital radon detector showed the radon level dropped to around 1 pCi/l. Two weeks later, the report from Micro Air, Inc. showed that the radon level in our basement was 0.7 pCi/l. Hope that the system performs like this in the next few years. After the test report coming out, Mike sent me a test report packet with all the information and documents we need. So far I am very happy with the system and the company.
