Efficient Systems did an excellent job of cleaning and servicing my central a/c unit. Even though there was some difficulty working around weather issues they were in communication regarding the schedule appointment and alternative choices. Marty, the technician, was on time and very professional. I will try to request him for each service. They immediately email a report of their findings which is awesome. Marty made some future recommendations and what was really nice was the fact that there were NO scare-tactics to have them done immediately. I will definitely be using them again.

After checking Angie's List I called 2 air conditioner companies for estimates. A very knowledgeable gentleman from the Thiele company came and after checking my air conditioner he explained what his company would do to replace it. When he gave me the estimate I was pleasantly surprised because it was significantly less than another company"s (also from Angie's List) price. I asked when the unit could be scheduled for installation and he said right away. The installer came out the next day and installed the new air conditioner. He was prompt, clean, and courteous.

Our air conditioner and gas furnace were very old (20+ years) and needed to be replaced. Our air conditioner stopped working, so we called Family Heating to get an estimate. David Morris came out when we asked him and he explained our options. We chose a heat pump/gas furnace system. His team arrived the following week to install the system. The whole team was professional and worked hard all day in very high heat to get the system installed. They were professional, and left the house neat and tidy. A cover for one opening had to be ordered, and they came back within a week or two to install the cover as promised. I will continue to use Family Heating to service our furnace and AC, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again to install a heating/cooling system.

Our furnace quit working mid-afternoon on a recent Wednesday. We called for a technician about 8 p.m. and he arrived after completing two other service calls about 10 p.m. After reviewing the situation, he determined that the circuit board had gone out on our 16 year old furnace. Due to the age, the relatively low-end quality of the furnace when installed and that we were already monitoring a couple of other issues, it was determined that we needed a new furnace. The salesman came out on Thursday morning and talked over options, including replacing the even older central air conditioning system. Because the team of technicians would be unable to to come do the installation until the following day, the salesman went to a local hardware store and purchase multiple space heaters for us so that we could remain at home with our pets and to monitor the pipes. They were able to get us systems that qualified for several discounts and rebates. The installation team arrived promptly at 8 a.m. Friday morning and worked without break all day. They had to not only remove our old units, but also our recently installed new water heater in order to get to the work area they needed to reach. They were efficient, professional, and hard working. They had the new equipment installed and our water heater re-installed and heat flowing by 4 p.m.

I CALLED AND THE SALES REP. CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY. THE REP. GAVE ME 3 PRICES, AND SUGGESTED THE MEDIUM-PRICED AIR CONDITIONER. I APPRECIATED HIM NOT TRYING TO SELL ME THE MOST EXPENSIVE AIR CONDITIONER. THEY WERE ABLE TO COME DO THE JOB 3 DAYS LATER, WHICH WAS GREAT BECAUSE WE WERE WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING. MY ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT WHEN I WENT TO PAY FOR THE JOB AFTER COMPLETION, I TRIED TO USE MY $100 OFF COUPON FROM ANGIE'S LIST, AND THEY DID NOT WANT TO HONOR IT. I ASKED WHY, AND THEY SAID THAT I HAD TOLD THEM I WAS AN ANGIE'S LIST MEMBER WHEN I ORIGINALLY CALLED FOR THE ESTIMATE. HOWEVER, WHEN THE SALES REP CAME TO GIVE ME THE ESTIMATE, HE DID NOT DISCLOSE THAT HE WAS GIVING ME THE DISCOUNT. IN ANY CASE, HE ENDED UP GIVING ME $50 OFF INSTEAD OF $100. I SUGGEST COMPANIES NOT OFFER COUPONS IF THEY DO NOT INTEND TO HONOR THEM WITHOUT HAGGLING. I ALSO SUGGEST THAT IF YOU WANT AN ESTIMATE, PRESENT THE COUPON AT THE TIME OF PRICING--BUT AFTER THEY'VE GIVEN YOU THE ESTIMATE.

Our 10-year-old AC just wasn't keeping up with the heat. We obtained multiple bids for replacement. Economy had the best price (based on comparable specifications), but also made the greatest effort to understand our needs. Long before he made any recommendations, the owner asked us question after question about our issues with the old system, our house, our concerns about comfort, etc. He also pointed out some of the shortcomings of our present system, explaining everything in understandable terms. Because it was just an AC replacement, the job took only about a half a day, and Economy was able to schedule it within the week. The installation crew showed up on time. They were very professional and polite and worked without disturbing the family. I was actually surprised when they were finished because there hadn't been much noise. Their installation was very clean, and they left the work area in great shape. Economy handled all the warranty process and paperwork on our behalf. The final invoice matched the estimate. I would not hesitate to recommend them. We're pleased with the system's performance and were happy with every aspect of the process.

THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN WAS ON TIME AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. HE CHECKED OUT OUR CENTRAL AIR, DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND ARRANGED TO HAVE THE UNIT RECHARGED THE FOLLOWING DAY. DIAL ONE'S CALL CENTER OPERATOR TELEPHONED EACH TIME TO CONFIRM WHEN THE SERVICEMAN WAS ENROUTE. OPERATORS WE SPOKE WITH WERE VERY POLITE AND HELPFUL. WE WERE EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THIS COMPANY.

Airmaster put in our old air conditioner 18 years ago and it stopped blowing cold air when I turned it on for the first time this season. Since they put in the old one I called and asked to have someone come out and see what was wrong. They said they were a little backed up but called back and said they could have a tech out the next day. He came, had a problem getting the compressor to kick in, fixed that but found I was out of freon. The new units no longer use freon and the cost would be over $150 per pound and I would need quite a few pounds plus their must have been a leak in the line for it to be empty. I mulled over the problem and after just putting in a heater a few months back wasn't too high on the idea of spending more money. They gave me my options and never a hard sell either way. I went with the new Bryant. I'm happy, just hope I get another 18 years out of this unit. Four more stars for Stout's Airmaster.
Recent Review: While on an out of town vacation, our air conditioner compressor finally died. I called Top Shelf, as it had good reviews on Angie's List. My call was answered promptly by the owner himself. He discussed with me several options; we set up an appointment as soon as we arrived back. The owner was prompt and punctual and made a thorough examination of our needs. I was offered several options and ultimately selected the top product. The next day, Top Shelf came out, punctual again, and installed our new air conditioner. They were courteous and polite; their installation was minimally intrusive which was nice as we were recovering from vacation. They installed our new unit professionally and completed all kinds of tests to ensure everything was perfect operationally. They cleaned up very well after themselves, something not seen a lot. Their pricing was competitive, especially for Trane products.
Recent Review: Technician Aaron diagnosed a serious leak in the system on 6/18/13 and discussed the alternatives: leak tracing, repairing and refilling at very high cost per pound of obsolete freon type or replacing the whole system. I decided that replacing the system made sense. The replacement was scheduled for Friday 6/21/13. Ron and Cody arrived at 8 am and finished by 10 am. They installed a 4 ton AC condenser and new coil in the furnace.
Recent Review: Second time I have used Bob Bauerle. Did a terrific job from dealing with adjuster on hail damage, to roofing and completion of all other work. Gave Bob a list of those subcontractores i wanted on gutter guard, chase cover, etc., and he hired them and supervised all work. Thus I only had to deal with one contractor. His roofing crew was fast, worked from 7:00 to 9:00 that evening to finish and was neat. Cleaned up every where so no debris or nails. Bob was on top of every thing and the work progressed swiftly. As soon as the roof was installed he had the gutter people on the job.This was done while he was coordinating other jobs in the neighborhood. His service was just outstanding.

Recent Review: Courtney Zahn came out and inspected the chimney and several other areas of the house as requested. He photographed each area and was very knowledgeable and professional in explaining what and why the various repairs were neccessary. A detailed proposal and cost estimate was written up but there was no high pressure sales pitch, which I appreciated. After a second inspection with a different company I chose to go with Masonry Outfitters. Basically, the work on the stone siding and on the chimney was completed in one day and then the chimney waterproofing was applied 30 days later as specified. Both Courtney and Kenny were very easy to work with and I am very pleased with the repairs to my house.
Recent Review: We had experienced trouble with our air conditioner (the outside unit had stopped working). The dealer that had installed our furnace and air conditioner approximately 22 years ago recently went out of business. We suspected we may want to replace our units due to their age so we checked Consumer Reports for recommended brands. We then checked Angie's List for dealers who installed them and called Service Plus. The service rep arrived on time and parked on the street rather than blocking our driveway. He wore shoe covers indoors. As soon as he turned on the thermostat the air conditioner started up. However, he checked it out and found a number of age related problems. We went ahead with our decision to replace the units. He patiently worked with us in arriving at a decision on the units we needed and scheduled the installation. The installation crew was prompt. They also wore covers on their shoes and placed runners on the floor. They efficiently removed our old units and installed the new. When separated, they spoke to each other over their cell phones rather than yell back and forth. They informed us of an electrical issue that we need to have addressed. Before leaving, they walked us through the systems to include the new thermostat. Overnight, a small problem with the air conditioner was noticed. They had a rep out within one hour of our calling who resolved the problem at no costs. Everyone we worked with was courteous and professional. I would recommend Service Plus
Recent Review: MY AIR CONDITIONING QUIT WORKING ON AN 85 DEGREE, MUGGY SATURDAY. AIRTRON CAME WITHIN AN HOUR & SPENT THE DAY REPLACING THE UNIT & THE FURNACE. BECAUSE I AM DISABLED, THEY PUT A RUSH ON THE WORK.
