Recent Review: Gabe and his son were very prompt and professional. They moved me up their busy roofing list due to an active roof leak. Explained everything that needed done, the cost, the warranty, etc. They started bright and early and finished late that afternoon. I don't think they even took a 30 minute lunch. The roof looks great, they did a great clean-up job as well. So far NO more leaks!! Too bad everything can't go as smooth as this went. I highly recommend Gabe's Home Improvement and they will be my go to business for any further home projects that call for a professional. Thanks again to Gabe and all of his hard workers. Recent Review: This company has been extremely disappointing. I started a roof repair job with McWhorter Construction in August of 2015. When I first started working with them the contact point was a man named Dexter, who provided me a quote and scheduled the work. It took until December of 2015 (5 months) to do the initial repair which was ripping off shingles, putting in ice and water protection, then re-flashing and shingling the roof around our chimney. After completing the repair, they were paid in full, and I held off on repairing the inside to ensure that the repair worked, but sadly it did not. I understand that a roof leak can be hard to track down so that isn't the reason for my rating. I have spent the past year and a half trying to get them to come back and completely fix the repair. The few times that they came back out they put more black jack around the new flashing and on the singles to solve the issue with no luck. Finally, mid-May, I spoke with John McWhorter, the owner. He informed me that he would send a crew in the next couple of weeks to complete a cricket in front of the chimney to help resolve the issue once and for all. He was also going to split the repair cost with me since I had gone through all of this hassle and that was more than reasonable to me. Since that date I have reached out several times via email, phone, and text to him with absolutely no response. I have also reached out to their office via emails I had exchanged with them throughout the process and through their website online. At this point it seems that they are going to completely ignore this job and I will be forced to go with another company for the repair. I would not recommend McWhorter's Construction based on the experience I have had with them, they are completely unresponsive.

Recent Review: The Roof leaked after the job was finished and the contractor paid. He sent his crew out but all they did was apply caulk to areas they guessed were leaking. They never stopped the leak. I suggested the flashing should be examinded. The Contarctor said - for an additional $350.00 - he'd remove schingles and inspect the flashing. I said I wasn't paying him any more because I had a contract and his work was guaranteed! He nor his crew never returned and the leak was not stopped. After contacting several contractors to fix the leak, finally someone agreed to look. (Others didn't want invoved.) The leak was fixed for $1700. I filed a case in small claims court to recover my expenses to fix the leak and any additional relief the court may deem to be just and equitable. County sheriff deputies could not get James Yoder served. He was never home. I contacted an attorney and used his server. My attorney said, "If he can't serve him nobody can." After several attempts my attorney's server didn't serve Mr. Yoder. As with the deputies - he was never home. I will never pay a roofing contractor in full again - until after the first rain. And, guarantees are NOT worth the paper they're on. You have to file a small claim, get them served and, assuming the consumer wins, it's a whole different game to get the award. I would not hire James Yoder Construction nor recommend the company to anyone.

FTOP IT ALL ROOFING
They did show up as promised. The owner and his foreman came down off the roof 45 minutes later and used two tubes of silicone. He demanded the other half of payment. After a tough discussion I wrote a check. The roof leaked that night. He came back 3 times and used 8 tubes of silicone and didnt remove one shingle. My roof is a mess and still leaking. I called another roofer and now I will have remove 100 percent of what he did. Please do not use this contractor or you will be in the same position I am snd 950.00 poorer.

Roofers were a crew of Mexican  nationals from the Lexington, KY area who apparently follow work where ever available.  The crew leader spoke English, but the other three did not.  They worked 12 hour days with few breaks, but were industrious.  I did not see any safety precautions in use, which worried me somewhat.  The installation appears acceptable, at least as viewed from the ground on a two story house.  However, the gutter covers were installed backwards which caused water to gush right over the gutters in the first rain.  A supervisor from Sutton inspected the installation, detected the cause of the problem, and sent the crew leader out to re-install them.  Not the neatest job, but they work better. ,Later, I became aware of a roof leak around the dryer vent.  I called Sutton, but they never came out to inspect or repair the problem.  I finally fixed it myself, (I hope!)  A year after the work was done, a representative of Sutton called to ask when they could do a followup inspection, which he stated was their usual policy.  My wife informed him that we would be on vacation the following week, but that  the week after would be fine.  He said he would call back then to set an appointment, but  we have never heard from him.

Hired Sutton's to reroof a 35 year old two story home. Sutton's recommend  3-Tab, 25 year Comp. shingle (CertainTeed Corporation). Within a month after reroof notice water stains on ceiling in two rooms. Walked into attic, condensation dripping from ever nail protruding from roof. Everything (stuff in storage) in attic was damaged. Called Sutton's,  salesman came to house looked in attic  and said roof needs vents. Asked why it was not done when roof was installed he said he didn't know. Sutton's did install  5 roof vents. 10 years later roof leaks again. Called Sutton's, salesman looks at roof and said the shingle were bad and will help file a warranty claim with CertainTeed Corporation. Asked salesman if Sutton's was aware of problem with shingles from this company and he said yes. Asked why Sutton's did not notify customers about this problem.  He did not have answer. CertainTeed Corporation issued a check for a pro-rated amount based on age of the roof.  However, installing new shingles would  be the cost of homeowner. Sutton's salesman asked if I wanted them to install new shingles; responded with, "No, thank you." Salesman: Kevin King very Professional Receptionist: I thought was rude.
