Recent Review: While the work eventually performed was of good quality, getting it done was a hassle. I contracted with the company on June 21, 2013 to replace my gutters and storm door. At that time I was told that work would begin the following week. It didn't. I contacted the company on July 8, 2013 to ask when the work would be done. I was told it would be done the following week. It wasn't. On July 29, 2013 I contacted the company again. The manager was on vacation, but replied saying he would check on project status the following week. Finally, on August 20, 2013, installers arrived to replace the storm door. The work was well done and the installers were personable and professional. They asked me to inspect the work when they were finished, which met with my satisfaction. On August 23, 2013 a crew arrived to replace the gutters. I discussed the work with the lead installer before they began work. The crew took about four hours to do the work. However, when they were finished I as not asked to inspect the work. They simply left the premises. On my own inspection, I discovered that one downspout extension, which I had discussed with the lead installer, was not installed. The gutter replacement proper appeared to be well done. On August 26, 2013 I again contacted the JB&D manager to request that the discussed extension be installed. In a reply of August 27, 2013, the manager said the installers would return to install the extension. On September 19, 2013, a representative from JB&D arrived to install the extension. I was asked at that time to pay the remaining balance on the contract. In summary, to replace one storm door and the gutters on my house and garage took 3 months to accomplish. JB&D failed to keep me informed about the reason for the delay. My sense is that the company uses subcontractors exclusively over whom they have little control. I was told by one of the installers if my project had been larger (more expensive), the company would have given me a higher priority. While I am happy with the work performed, I am disappointed with the time it took to get done and the lack of customer service effort in communicating with me.
