Recent Review: Installer was pleasant and did a nice job installing the door. They are more expensive than Menards and Lowe's but I had them do the job because I didn't want to be bothered with having to bring the door home myself, call an installer, etc. Window and Door was one stop shopping.

Recent Review: Went really well. He took out the old doors, made several changes to the existing rough opening to make our new doors fit, installed the new ones and adjusted the storm door so that it closed properly. He cleaned up his mess, hauled the old stuff away and left everything looking neat as a pin and completely finished.

Recent Review: Jared and Jason were our installers. they were very professional. All the work was done and finished within a day and a half. they installed 11 windows and 3 doors at my brothers house. he works days and i work nights so i got to go over and house sit . while they were working. they arrived at the job at 8:15 and immediately went to work. hauled in all windows and doors and put them next to the window/door to be replaced. all the windows were in by 11:30 am they still had to be capped on the outside tho. that was done by 5:00. they started on doors on the first day and actually only came back the second day to install one door and put up 2 storm doors. everything else was done on day 1. they didn't just install and leave tho. they reapplied trim moldings around doors and covered nail holes in the trim. i was very impressed with the level of professionalism in the installation and finishing. they left the job with nothing for us to clean up. the only thing we have to do after they left is to put a finish on the door trim. AWESOME JOB!

Recent Review: I looked in the phonebook and his ad just jumped out at me. I have not lived in Mattoon for several years and now that I have moved back into town I am not as familiar with the town as I used to be. I have a few projects that I need to have done and I am not as handy as I would like to be. I rolled the dice and called Chad wheeler. I asked for an estimate and he said that he could meet with me two days later. He called ahead and met with me at my home when he said that he would. I live in an old house and he said that the job could be very simple or more difficult depending on what the job entailed after he removed the old door. I asked for a ballpark figure and he gave me a figure of $150 to $200. I liked his overall friendly attitude and I said that I would go buy the doors and hire him to do the job. He did not ask for any retainer or deposit. He said that he would go and pick-up my doors from where ever I purchased them. The next day I purchased the doors locally and called him to let him know. He said that he would stop by to pick-up the will call slip and go get the doors. He did that and told me that he was finishing another job and that the next day he would begin my job. He showed up when he said that he would and even called ahead to let me know that he was on his way. He arrived and began working. My house is an old house and the anticipated trouble of the doorway not being square was accurate. He seemed to think things through to ensure proper installation. He completed the entry door that afternoon and said that he would return the next morning to complete the job. He arrived the next day on time and completed the project. The door looks great and he did a great job. The total for the door installation $220.00 After seeing him work at the project I think the total was well inline for the work preformed. Chad Wheeler will be my go to handyman for future projects.

Recent Review: While the work eventually performed was of good quality, getting it done was a hassle. I contracted with the company on June 21, 2013 to replace my gutters and storm door. At that time I was told that work would begin the following week. It didn't. I contacted the company on July 8, 2013 to ask when the work would be done. I was told it would be done the following week. It wasn't. On July 29, 2013 I contacted the company again. The manager was on vacation, but replied saying he would check on project status the following week. Finally, on August 20, 2013, installers arrived to replace the storm door. The work was well done and the installers were personable and professional. They asked me to inspect the work when they were finished, which met with my satisfaction. On August 23, 2013 a crew arrived to replace the gutters. I discussed the work with the lead installer before they began work. The crew took about four hours to do the work. However, when they were finished I as not asked to inspect the work. They simply left the premises. On my own inspection, I discovered that one downspout extension, which I had discussed with the lead installer, was not installed. The gutter replacement proper appeared to be well done. On August 26, 2013 I again contacted the JB&D manager to request that the discussed extension be installed. In a reply of August 27, 2013, the manager said the installers would return to install the extension. On September 19, 2013, a representative from JB&D arrived to install the extension. I was asked at that time to pay the remaining balance on the contract. In summary, to replace one storm door and the gutters on my house and garage took 3 months to accomplish. JB&D failed to keep me informed about the reason for the delay. My sense is that the company uses subcontractors exclusively over whom they have little control. I was told by one of the installers if my project had been larger (more expensive), the company would have given me a higher priority. While I am happy with the work performed, I am disappointed with the time it took to get done and the lack of customer service effort in communicating with me.

Recent Review: Jarred was punctual, professional, and a very nice guy. He fixed both of our storm doors and gave us a clear estimate on some additional work we are considering for the future. I have used Budget Right Handyman many times over the years, and I've always been pleased.

Recent Review: I contacted Jim Vance regarding an enclosed porch storm door that needed to be repaired or replaced. He stopped by the following day and gave me an estimate to replace the door and hardware. His price was very reasonable so I told him to go ahead and schedule the work. He purchased the door and installed it within a day or two of giving me the estimate. This is the third job I have hired Vance Remodeling and Restoration to do and each time Jim has completed the job in a timely manner, at a reasonable cost and always leaves the work site impacably clean. Jim is always very courteous and professional.

After a review and discussion at the showroom, I purchased a storm door for my front door and had it installed by the provider.  Everything went well.  I was very satisfied with both the storm door/screen and the provider.  They were prompt, courteous, did not leave a mess and knew what they were doing.  I feel that I obtained a good value for the money.  I will definitely go to see them in the future for siding, windows and doors should the need arise.

FCletus Day/Repairs By Day
I had asked Day to come and inspect my house because I believed the supports to my house were in need of repair and causing my back storm door not to close properly, causing a slant in my tub that didn't allow water to drain completely and causing my interior floors between my utility room and kitchen to seem to slant away from each other.  Additionally, I asked Day to inspect my hot water lines to the washer and bathroom sink because there is little to no flow. Day took out a level and a measuring tape and proceeded to look over the various tasks.  He stated that he didn't think there was anything wrong with the supports (although he never went into the crawlspace to look).  The back door wasn't closing properly because he said it was too big for the opening - I needed a door two inches smaller.  The door in question was only 2 years old.  I relied on his opinion and paid for him to buy a new door and install.  In order to do so, he had to add 1 inch lumber on both sides to make the doorway smaller.  He also "kluged" in the latch part to make it fit; now, if you are coming in from the outside, you can't grasp the doorknob completely directly because the latch part juts out in front of it. He said the tub just needed to be repositioned and then recaulked to level it.  After he was done, there doesn't appear to be any difference in the level (water still doesn't drain completely) and I just recently discovered that he never removed the old caulk, merely re-caulked over top of the old.  I doubt seriously that he did anything to the tub but put new caulk over old. The slant between the utility room and kitchen were 'fixed' by installing a wooden bar across the seam. The original estimate said that included in the $775 to be paid was 'repair hot water lines to washer and vanity/sink.'  I paid the entire amount, but he told me that the lines were clogged and in order to fix the problem, he proposed running flexible pipelines through the wall behind the bathroom, across the floor to the hot water heater and similar from the washer to the hot water heater.  At this point in time, I was flabbergasted that he suggest such a crap repair that I just wanted him gone.  So absolutely nothing was done to the hot water lines to repair them. This man should *never* be allowed to work on anyone's house.  Now I have to pay to have someone correct all of his "repairs."

AMWT Windows
The guys are very skilled and they despite having to make a major cut in two walls, did so without any problem and the windows ended up being beautiful. They were on time, on budget and absolute professionals. I have consulted Marc on other related projects and rely on his knowledge and industry expertise. I would not hesitate to have them back.

AR & R Handymen
From start to finish this is the best experience with a contractor I have ever had. Never had to wonder if they would be here today or if they were doing a good job. Couldn't have been better. R and R went beyond expectations in every aspect of the job! We would recommend them to anyone and have already!
