Recent Review: Wonderful. His price was about 60% of what I thought it was going to be. He was upfront with estimates, showed up when he said he would, a nice guy overall, and did great work including everything I asked him to. Hire him!

Landscaping Brothers Inc
Recent Review: I used this company several times when we first moved into the community in the early 1990's, and they were very, very good. Their ideas and work ethic were excellent and they were prompt and efficient. It has been several years ago now but if I am recalling correctly, they installed a fish pond in our backyard and did extensive landscaping in our front yard. I have not hired them recently, although I did contact them this past fall for input and pricing on a project to be done this spring.

THE GARDEN'S EDGE
Recent Review: At our own expense and labor, we had to redo their work to make it operational. Repeated efforts to get them to complete the work were ignored and we finally had to pay them in full without the work being completed due to intimidation. In the end, we ended up having to redo everything ourselves as nothing they did worked. We spent as much as we paid them in repairs and replacing certain parts. They thought their work was high quality but they are not detail oriented at all. He is not professional, or responsible and is deceptive.

HAYDEN LANDSCAPING INC
Recent Review: We first contact Hayden's a year ago, and decided to wait, because we were naïve about the cost of landscaping.  I did end up getting some competing quotes, one which was a bit lower, and one which was a bit higher.  This year, we decided to bite the bullet and get our long awaited project done!  We chose Hayden because of their years of experience, solid reputation, and because they seemed to care about our budget as well as the quality of work they would do for us.  Rick, Jim, James, Aaron, and the rest of the crew did a great job, listening to our desires and adapting as we progressed through the 5-6 week project.  When all was said and done, we were very happy with the final product. The time to completion and final cost were considerably more than initially estimated.  However, we were kept informed along the way, so we understood the reasons for some of the extra time and cost.  This caveat is not specific to the provider, however.  Anytime you enter a large home project, be prepared for changes that may effect timeliness and cost.  If you can't afford the extra time and cost, you should put off the project until you can. I would highly recommend Hayden Landscaping for their quality work, and believe that their prices and product offerings are reasonable for this area.

Aerate 1 Landscaping & Ponds
Recent Review: Hector was very responsive to our needs. He met with us to show us some of his work and to understand what we wanted. He explained in detail what he would do and came out to the house during the work to ensure that everything was being done to our satisfaction. His team was timely and professional, and the job was completed as he described. Additionally, he came out after the pond work was complete and walked me through the process of maintaining the pond, which the business that initially put in the pond never did. We were extremely satisfied with his customer service and the quality of his work.

He failed to mention how to upkeep the landscaping and he had poor placement of the trees he planted. As a result many of the trees died, and I had to remove many of the trees because they were over crowded. I had to call him to fix problems with the pond. The crew was messy and often did not clean up after themselves.

THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL GROUP OF CONTRACTORS I HAVE EVER HIRED. Front yard is not done, eventually told them to leave after they kept messing up what we had asked for. My wife and mom spent 4 hours going over what they expected and the contractors kept making stupid mistakes like planting bushes when they were told none were wanted and putting flowers etc in the wrong places as was originally agreed on. The lining under the mulch looks bad...it sticks out all over the place. They underestimated the amount of soil and mulch they needed to add to the front of the house and kept asking for more money so they could finish what they had started. They broke the pond and then when it drained out the first night they claimed they couldnt see the 3 inch crack in the bottom that they put in even though it was clear as day. The head contractor who was the only one who spoke ANY english, it was broken english at that, was making sexual comments about my wife and 18 year old daughter....my daughter was scared and slept in the bed with her mom whenever I was away. They were told not to return to the property because we were done with them and were not paying anything more for all the work they had messed up.  They kept returning early in the morning so we ended up filing a complaint with the police department and had our lawyer serve them with a restraining order demanding they stay off our property. We had another contractor give us an estimate to fix what these guys had done and we were told it would cost $3500 to fix the $2500 of work we had just paid for. This crew is basically a bunch of Mexicans who leave rocks with their flyers on everyones lawns in the area looking for work.  Do not let them onto your property.  We had to have a friend who spoke Spanish come over and attempt to communicate our requests to them and they still got everything wrong....add in the unwanted sexual advances.....very very bad company.

AMid South Builders
I contacted Mid South Builders in November, 2005. We discussed at length what I wanted in a new home. In two weeks, Jerrod had drawn up plans for my new home. With my ok, the house was started by the end of November. I lived across the street from my new home site, so I had a front row seat to watch the daily progress. Jerrod kept me apprized of every step of the building. We discussed going all electric, but I was concerned about the cost of my utility bills. Jerrod suggested double wall for added insulation. I'm happy to report my summer electric bill is under $100.00 and winter is around $200.00. It was never a problem if I wanted to make changes in the construction, Jerrod would just smile and say ok. When it was time for the flooring, I thought I wanted carpet throughout. Jerrod talked me into trying Laminate, I liked it so much I put it in half the house. I wanted stone on the backsplash in my kitchen, but it was just too expensive. Jerrod suggested I pick ceramic tile, and he would make it look like stone. He cut and filed every piece . He was right, it does look like stone. When I hired Mid West Builders to build my home, I had no idea that everything would go so smoothly. They took care of every aspect of this construction, and no job was too small for them to complete. I am now retired and thinking of down sizing, if I do I will call Mid South Builders.
