Reviews in Northbrook to Remove Water
AThe Galaxy's Finest Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning
Jeff was excellent. He was clear in explaining what he had to do and why. Very professional, worked very quickly, and kept a smile on his face. This last part was particularly important, as we were very upset by the amount of water damage in our basement and to learn that we needed to pull out the carpet. If the awful has happened to you with water damage, he's the one to call. Would definitely call him again -- but I sure hope we don't have to.

I am a general contractor and I use Bella T Inc. all the time for mold removal water damage jobs before I do my rehabs. The air tests always pass and they work well with insurance companies.

AK & K Cleaning Service
On the day after Christmas when I discovered that my water heater had flooded the carpeted basement, I called K & K and someone was there to take my call. I wasn't sure if I would be able to get help on this holiday week. They explained to me what the process would be to clean up my mess and Keith was out to the house within an hour.

AAmerican Cleaning And Restoration Inc
We were linked up with American through our insurance company. They came out the next day even with a ton of other floods in our area. They pulled up all of the floor and cut the drywall quickly. The reno team communicated with us and gave us tips on what pictures to take/things to think of from an insurance perspective. They set up a ton of fans and dehumidifiers to dry things out as quickly as possible. For a terrible situation they provided some piece of mind. I do wish there would have been a little more communication afterwards from the corporate side since, as first timers, we didn't really know the process and felt like I had to reach out to them often regarding logistics. They did however respond quickly to my calls/emails. I do also wish that we had been told to remove any personal/non damaged items prior to them coming since a few of our non-flood impacted items were damaged during the process.

ANORTH SIDE RENOVATIONS
Jeremy was great to work with. He provided a timely estimate. Though Jeremy had another guy perform the task, it went very well. My neighbor is pleased with the work.

ABeauty & The Brush Painting Inc
They are prompt, professional and they did an excellent job on our ceiling. They cleaned up at the end of each day and did not leave a mess after the job was completed. The cost was even less than the estimate because it did not take as long as he estimated. They started on a Friday and although they don't work weekends, they finished it up on Saturday. Great customer service. Responsive. A+

APuroClean Disaster Services
Great. Contacted the local (Northbrook) office and they were here in less than 10 minutes. Explained exactly what would be done and ways to prevent future flooding. Returned several days later to collect their equipment (fans, dehumidifier) and test carpet and walls for residual moisture. After several months, I'm confident there was no permanent damage from the flood.

AINDOOR AIR REPAIR INC
We called the company on Tuesday night at 5 pm to ask for an immediate estimate. They came out in an hour, gave us an estimate and told us they could use green products as I did not want harmful chemicals in my home. We agreed to price and Carol, had three workers at my house buy 10 am the next morning.. They prepped my house so none of my belongings were damaged, removed damaged drywall and set up 3 dehumidifiers and 2 air scrubbers immediately. The job was done quickly and cleanly, no easy feat since they had to go up and down a ladder in to a hot attic. There was some damage done to ceiling below while they were removing the floor, but Carol was very responsive and sent so done out to repair without any complaint. I think this was just an unavoidable accident because of tight quarters where they were working. I also called her to get a recommendation for someone to clean the drywall dust out of the attic room after the other construction crew left. Carol tried to find someone to help me, but everyone was booked up so she is sending out her own workers to do it at no charge to us even though it was not her responsibility. That is unusual today for someone to help you when they are not obligated and is one of the reasons I would definitely use this company again and highly recommend them to others!

CThe CleanUP Guys
Thursday, April 18th flood backed up water into finished basement, 4-5 inches. Looked up service online. Spoke with boss, Wayne, who quoted price and came over on time. Hard sell regarding dangers of HIV and hepatitis in the contaminated water and urgent need to remove and disenfect for family safety. Workers were courteous and hard-working. Removed carpet, advised baseboards were wet particle board and removed those as well. Discovered tile under carpet which made cleanup easier. Were advised no need to replace drywall. Friday we discovered they forgot to clean in storage area under stairs as was contracted. Called and left multiple messages with no callback. So much for the urgency to prevent disease. We cleaned up remaining mess on our own. They did call Saturday, but we had finished the cleanup. Our long-time and trusted contractor came on Sunday. Opened drywall and noted saturated insulation that needed removal. Next noted plywood flooring under tiling (FYI it is a bad idea to do this) that was also soaked and needed removal. Moral of the experience: They arrived promptly and were polite and hard-working but neglected to do part of job. Their assessment of water damage and need for remediation was sub-standard. Had we trusted this assessment, we would potentially be dealing with a significant mold issue down the road. UPDATE: 4/27/13 Sherman, the owner, called and expressed empathy and regret for our experience. He indicated this was not the usual situation in their 18 years of doing business, and there was likely miscommunication with the service team due to the stress of the flooding and so many people needing service. He offered to refund 20% of the fees. To us this was an acceptable resolution. Although I wish the service was complete and transparent from the outset, I believe the owner is practicing in good faith and trying to deliver quality service.

APerfection Cleaning & Restoration
It went extremely well. The crew got to my house the same day I called when other companies had me pushed into the next week. They put everything up on blocks off the floor, cleaned up the water, took out sections of the walls that were damaged, and set up all their drying equipment. They checked on the house daily to check equipment and make sure everything was being dried properly. Excellent service!

Recent Review: JT, his wife Marie, and the team at AdvantaClean far surpassed my expectations. They operate on a level above most comapnies you will find today. JT was so responsive, he always awnsered my phonecalls or would return them promptly. He came far out of his way to our house in Sycamore on a Saturday to give us an estimate. He was honest, knowledgable, and I was very comfortable having him and his team in my home. I was worried about the repair because I was a brand new homeowner, two weeks away from my due date when the damage occured (I am a worry wort and I made him test for mold, and also for lead paint in our walls) He was so patient, and even went out of his way to help me work with my insurance company. I have high standards when it comes to customer service, and the whole crew at AdvantaClean far surpassed all of my expectations. I will definatly call AdvantaClean in the future for air duct maintenence and refer them to my friends and family. Thank you AdvantaClean! -The Schairers
Recent Review: It was spectacular! Once I contacted Chris, he managed the entire project, including interacting with my insurance company. The quality of the work is stellar! I get many comments of how nice everything looks. The icing on the cake was when Chris was able to match tile that's more than 30 yrs old - can't even tell where the new tile meets the old tile...FABULOUS! I can't say enough positive about this company. If you have damage don't even bother calling anyone else!
Recent Review: We’ve worked with Super Steam 4 times now and have always been very impressed. After our sump pump failed last spring, Sam and his crew were at our place super quickly. Despite a huge flood, they saved all our finished basement carpet and walls, and prevented any mold from forming. Everything was put back together as though nothing had happened. They were super thorough, very considerate, and proved 100% trustworthy. All of this was true again when we had to repair (unrelated) mold damage caused by a shower leak and again when our tenants caused a huge flood recently. (Our luck has not been great this year...) In particular, after the tenant flood, the drywall repair and painting was flawless. No one could ever tell there had been a problem. And, when that last flood happened, Sam had fans and dehumidifiers on site in less than an hour from when we called. Amazingly fast. I hope we don’t have to deal with any more water damage, but if we ever do, it’s a huge relief to know Super Steam. We wholeheartedly recommend (and thank!) them!
