Recent Review: RJ Graham was very professional and prompt in there dealings with me. We hired them to extend an existing interior gas line to a different area of the house, through the exterior wall, and install a valve outside to be used with our grill. I was not available at the time they came take a look at the job and provide an estimate, they walked my wife(novice in home repair) through the entire process until she was comfortable with everything. Their work was clean, professional, and timely. I could not be any more happy with the end results and they will be the first call I make if I ever need a plumber.
Recent Review: We met Mark at a very difficult point in the remodel of our SFH. We had hired a General Contractor to handle the carpentry, plumbing, kitchen and bathroom remodeling work (we have written a separate review on that company elsewhere on Angie's List). More than three months after the bathrooms had been demolished back to the studs (and after paying $40,000) we were first informed by the GC that the bath fixtures would need to be vented at an additional cost to us of nearly $6,000. We had already begun to lose faith in the GC at that point due to numerous delays and their other attempts to significantly expand the scope and cost of the contract and so were reluctant to rely on them to do the plumbing work. Mark came to the house to give us an estimate and quickly identified the work needed to prepare the bathrooms and kitchen for finishing. Not only was his price extremely fair, I particularly liked the fact that Mark gave us a figure to include any additional plumbing work that might be needed to make everything right and pass inspection. We went with Mark and he actually began work over the Thanksgiving week. He and his assistant were punctual, professional, hardworking, and communicative, keeping us advised on the project at all times. They accomplished more in three weeks than the GC had done in three months (which was next to nothing). We are now ready for rough inspection to be followed by the setting of the remaining fixtures. I have little doubt that the balance of the project will go smoothly. For those Angie's List subscribers old enough to remember the day when plumbers took pride in their work, completed the job on time and at a fair price, you cannot do better than Mark Kolecke Plumbing. I wish we could give him a triple-A rating.

Recent Review: I had an issue with my upper level bathroom which leaked water below and caused the lower level ceiling to collapse. I had a home warrantee, but they were unable o resolve the problem after 1.5 years so I called Lake Cook Plumbing. The following day, Phil arrived and did an extremely thorough inspection. He wrote up 3 separate estimates. We asked him to do all of the work he proposed. He not only did an exceptional job, he taught us a number of items being we are new home owners. The price is high but you get what you pay for. Glad we had Phil.

Recent Review: Called back promptly, and was available when I needed them. Prices were as stated up front, used my equipment where possible. Plumber was early, very neat and polite, and professional, cleaned up everything. Can't really ask for more.
Recent Review: The gentlemen were on time and got right to work. They were professional. They worked a very long day and I'm not sure they even took a break to eat lunch. They made it their goal to finish the work in one day and they stayed to make sure it happened. The work was done well and they cleaned up after themselves. The cost was below the original estimate - always a pleasant surprise. Would definitely use them again in the future.
Mickey was great. I had Sears deliver a stove and found out that the turn off valve was broken they left without doing the install. I wanted my stove installed that day so I searched Angie's List and found Mickey he was able to come out within 2 hours of me calling him he installed the valve, new gas line and connect my stove all within 30 min of coming to my home. Great service

Fernando was recommended to me by the Glen Ellyn Newcomers Group so I knew off the bat he was going to live up to my high standards. I met with several plumbers to get quotes as this was a big project and I had so many problems just getting the other plumbers to return my phone calls or show up on time for the estimate?! Fernando with Essential Plumbing was phenomenal! He met me the day after I called to give me a quote. He was on time, professional, courteous and his pricing was great so he was hired! He did a lot of work for us for a kitchen/laundry remodel and he and his entire staff could not have been better. Of course, we passed inspection with flying colors and I could not have been happier with the work they did and how quickly they were able to accommodate me. (He also bent over backwards and helped me out a different time to install a gas line for a new grill we ordered -- he saved the day, right before a big bbq!). If you are looking for a quality/expert plumber that you can rely on, Fernando is your guy!

Quotes were professional, and spelled everything out with all details. Very knowledgeable about options and suggestions. Cleaned up after themselves every day. Also best bids I got of 4-5 contractors.

DCascade Plumbing & Sewer
I had trouble from the start. I had to keep calling him back to fix leaky copper pipes, and gas pipes which he installed in my newly renovated basement. He even installed an exhaust pipe for the new boiler which leaked into my basement. Hazardous and careless. Also dangerous was the fact that the gas line he installed was leaky too. I could smell gas in my basement and then I confirmed that there was indeed a leak with soap and water. He didn't show much concern in either case which was very disconcerting. Thankfully, no real incident occurred and also the drywall was still not installed at the point when all these leaks happened. However, the latest experience (this project took several months) involved him showing up to modify again a leaky drain vent pipe which he had connected to my main sewage line. The way he configured the vent pipe, it led to seepage of drain sewage into the vent pipe. He came back to correct it, but low and behold after he did this, I came home to a puddle of water in my utility closet and white track marks on my newly stained hardwood floors in my basement. I was beside myself but I nicely asked if he left those marks on my floor but of course he denied that him or his workers were responsible for this. I confirmed that he was the only one that could have been there at that time this went down. This wasn't the first time that Walter and workers left messes. As a matter of fact, he was so messy I literally cleaned up after him and workers several times. I brought this to his attention, but again a very matter of fact response from him and no apology. Part of this ordeal involved him having me buy parts on my credit card for him to use in my project as part of our agreement, but since I decided not to use him at the end, I was stuck with unusable parts which my new plumber was not able to use. Now I'm stuck with these parts that cost me over $100 (a couple of toilet drain collars cast iron, and some water supply lines. One last thing to mention is that on three separate occasions, the hot water was turned off to install new copper lines. The problem was that each of these times, not only were we not notified that this was going to happen, but worst yet was that the hot water was not turned back on which created a terrible situation in my building especially with my current tenants. Cold shower in the winter time....not a very pleasant experience. But in spite of all this, I still put up with a lot from Walter only because he is a very nice person. Nonetheless, at this point I have to say, I would not be using him ever again.

ARJS Heating and Cooling
I am selling my condo. During the normal inspection, a possible gas leak was detected on my furnace. I called RJS and they sent someone right away. They replaced the gas line quickly for a extremely reasonable price. RJS is very responsive and very professional. They are the best.
