Recent Review: I got Michael's name from a friend. He came out and gave me an estimate on the spot. He kept track of everything with his iPhone so he wouldn?t forget anything. He came back the next week to start the work. We loved what he was doing so added more work as we went along. He was very professional, and worked late into the evening to get the work done. Michael did a great job, was very fairly priced, and we enjoyed having him work in our house. We will use him again in the future. He really fixed up our stairs which were in pretty bad shape and now are terrific.

Recent Review: Chris and Dan were great to work with on our project. The finished product (new deck railing) looks great. We feel comfortable sitting on our deck knowing that the new railing is secure and well-built. We love the ledge that was built on top of the railing. Would recommend working with this company again as they were very professional.
Recent Review: Stan was prompt and professional. The work was done exactly as he siad and ready and installed on time. I requested a lower railing but he let me know the correct safety specifications for an upper deck rail and once installed it was safer and looked better then the cheap old railing that it replaced.

Ken M. did a great job. He was on time. He left the cement porch as clean and smooth as possible after removing cedar railings. He prepped the refuse for easy disposal by removing the nails from the wood. He also helped with suggestions for a replacement rail.

ABudget Right Handyman
Budget Right called with notice of (slight) delay in arrival time. Had purchased two hours of "handyman" time on Angie's special offer. Had selected B.R. from location (and Angie's reports). Mark was polight and considerate, reviewed situation (a handrail mounting had split). Studs had to be located for successful repair. BR shopped for molding, added extra bracket for safety, purchased rail supports, remounted molding on wall into studs as necessary, mounted three supports, then filled plaster holes where necessary, painted and cleaned up. BR added $20. for cost of materials, and left remainder of fill material for continued maintenance.Work was performed on 115-year-old historical building.

CWoodridge Deck & Gazebo Co.
We needed to replace an iron porch railing. We asked for wood. They told us since the porch is concrete, they would need to use aluminum. They never even visited the site. They had me send measurements and they provided a bid for a product I was not familiar with. The price was double what others have bid.

AALL AROUND HOME IMPROVEMENTS
Scott gave us a well written, detailed, and reasonable estimate. He arrived when he said he would for estimate, dismantling of the rotted railing, and installation of the beautiful new railing. The spindles match the remaining railings perfectly. A few years ago, Scott rebuilt the footings, stairs, and railings of this same porch. We love his work!

ATom The Painter
We have hired Tom for this job and that of painting our fence before so we did not hesitate to contact him again for our deck and porch restaining. Tom came out before staining day to powerwash the deck and porch and to prep the surfaces. His crew was here for several hours. Without asking, Tom's crew made minor repairs to our railing where it had pulled away from other railings, and where a piece of wood had cracked. We greatly appreciated that. Tom also brought out staining chips that matched the color of our fence, which is now a reddish composite fence. We decided to go with the previous redwood colored stain as we didn't like the new stain options. He used a different product than our last product, which held up for six years like a champ. On staining day, Tom and his crew arrived on time and quickly got to work. When they finished, everything looked fantastic. I did call Tom out later to ask about how the stain didn't appear to have taken everywhere, and he came out to look. He assured me the stain had taken, and because of the nature of the stain and how they power washed down to the bare wood, that was the correct look. He was willing to restain the spots again but added that the stain was not designed for another application and that it might peel. I accepted his professional assessment and decided to leave the stain as is. Our deck and porch look fantastic. No mess remained behind.

Alex was pleasant, on time and easy to talk to. He called two days later with an estimate. When I asked to have the estimate in writing I never heard back from him again.

Rear porch railings had begun to rot and fail. I also wanted to increase security by installing lattice. Matt replaced some railings, a porch door and installed new lattice walls for security. Nice guy, prompt, and got the work done in quick and quality manner.

Everything went well. The workmanship was excellent and the personalities of the workmen were friendly. We would hire them again.

DJ Sitko Construction
We hired SItko to remove our old wooden front stairs and porch railings and replace them with new synthetic material. We solicited 3 proposals and selected Sitko for the work. The price was in line with what we expected, and we signed the contract in late May. At the time the contract was signed we were told work would start in 2-3 weeks. After the initial deposit was sent via Quickpay, Michael stopped responding to my inquiries. I began to make preparations for legal recourse under the assumption that my deposit had been stolen and work would never start. Finally I heard back and was told that work would begin at the end of June. During the project, the team left material in our front yard and damaged the lawn which was unable to be repaired. The craftsmanship of the work was also quite poor. Connections for railing to the support posts were poor, and a piece of siding was patched with siding that did not match the color (see photos). I contacted Michael about the poor workmanship on July 13th. There was no response, though I was presented with a final invoice and asked to remit prompt payment. After a period of 8 weeks I received a message the morning of September 24th saying that someone would be out to make repairs that day (no advanced notice). The repairs of the work are still lackluster (the "repair" for the poorly connected railing was to put white caulk around the connection...). Overall, this was a very poor experience.
