Reviews in Mundelein for Building a Gazebo

ABudget Right Handyman
The Technicians employees were wonderful they did a very great job. How ever I would never recommend this company they gave me an estimated price of two employees for four hours however I was charged over twice as much. The Forman said I should have call to say it was over the fours expected and to let them know if I wanted them to finish or quit. My question was why my responsibility he offered to reduce my bill by $138. Estimate was $562. I ended paying $850. Again I have great respect for the technicians they did a great job but the Forman Sam was unprofessional. I would not recommend this company since they do not know how to estimate. When they under estimate then they stop work if you do not want to continue to pay $69 per employee per hour

Excellent work. Very reliable. Answered calls, responded to questions, showed up on time when they said. Went above and beyond during a great job. Afterward, cleaned up the work area. Kept everything neat. They are coming back to do some additional work. You couldn't ask for a better team!

AJET RESTORATION & PAINTING INC
We needed restoration work on part of our gazebo which had rotted from water exposure. We also wanted our gazebo stained inside and out, including the roof. John came out and gave us an estimate which was reasonable for the wood repair, but too high for us to have him do the staining (in comparison to other quotes we got). He sent someone out to fix the wood (don't know his name) and he worked very diligently on a very hot day. He did an excellent job removing the rotten wood and replacing it with new pieces to match the existing gazebo structure. I would highly recommend this company to do this kind of work! We didn't think the gazebo could look "good as new", but it does now!

I was very pleased with the overall professionalism and quality of work that Elite Handym(e)n provided to us. These are very skilled workers who provide all their own necessary tools to get the job done. I really like the fact that they are firemen who work on projects like mine when they are not serving the community as firemen. The were very responsive, punctual, friendly, and most importantly, skilled at the work that was being performed. They worked tirelessly until the job was done. I would highly recommend them to anyone, as I plan to use them again for my next project.

AHandy Men & Mrs Helper Kitchen & Bath
Handy Men & Mrs. Helper were hired to remove a 28-year old deck, reinstall new decking, and install a hard-top steel gazebo. The work went well with a few hiccups. Dan was scheduled to arrive on a Monday but the forecast was for rain that day so Dan did not come in. He came in on Tuesday and started dismantling the old deck. The work stopped when Dan was struck in the face by a board that popped up when he was trying to remove it. He did not return the next day because of the injury to his face. Dan returned on Thursday, only to find a nest of opossums – one mother and ten babies – under the deck. Needless to say, Dan was not happy and the mother opossum was not happy. Dan left until I could get someone out to remove the nest. Suburban Wildlife Control came out that afternoon and removed all the opossums. Dan returned on Friday but the forecast was for rain so no work was done. Dan was supposed to return on Tuesday after the holiday but once again all work was stopped because of rain. Dan returned on Wednesday and continued dismantling old deck and started framing in additional rafter supports, posts, and railings. Once again, it rained all day Thursday. Dan spent the next three days completing all the posts, railings, and trim. Wednesday Dan installed all the decking. No work was done the following day due to more rain. On Friday Dan and Martin returned to set up the gazebo. Work went well and within 5 hours the gazebo was up and the deck was completed. I have worked with Handy Men & Mrs. Helper previously and am always more than satisfied with their work and their staff. The workers are professionals in their field of expertise, are always polite and courteous, and finish all work as required. This project took a little bit longer than planned due to Dan’s first day injury, the nest of opossums, and many days of rain. Because we were working with using as much of the old deck support structure as possible, the actual work on the deck was more complicated than originally thought so some additional time was required. My deck and gazebo are beautiful and I could not be more pleased with the results. Handy Men & Mrs. Helper have once again done a great job.

Wall patching and painting looks great. Not much to say about the gazebo covers, other than we now have them in the house being stored for the winter.

FBC Designs & Construction
The service didn't go well. Although, he was polite. He started the job in June, and we were told that it would take two weeks to complete. We were approaching Labor Day and the job wasn't completed. He didn't use cedar as was drafted in our contract. We've discovered through other carpenters that he used indoor pine, and that the construction was poorly done. It's been recommended that we have to completely tear it down and rebuild it. We noticed that he didn't buy the wood in bulk, he bought it piece by piece. I think that he was using wood that he had at home laying around. We wanted a fan installed so there would be a breeze when it was hot, come to find out he didn't pull an electrical permit. He always had an excuse as to why he couldn't be at the job earlier in the day or not showing up at all.  I finally told him to not come back.

The quote from Raul was very competitive. We scheduled his crew for the work, which had to be delayed a few days because of the amount of rain that we have had recently. Throughout the delay, Raul was in contact to get updates on the moisture status of our yard (they couldn't do the grading part if the area was too wet). They were finally able to get the work completed this week. The crew showed up on time, reviewed the plan with us, and were expedient in their work. Their work was high quality. They did an amazing job with the removal of the gazebo and grading of the yard. Our lawn looks amazing! The crew was friendly and accommodating. The results are awesome..we are thrilled. We will definitely be using them again!

John did a beautiful job thinking of things I would not like attached flower boxes Also he screened over the jousis and over the decking Totally keeping the bugs from coming from under the gazebo Of course all the rest was screened. My wife loves it as she doesn't do well with bugs. This is my third project with beyer builders I would always use them their work is great.

AHandy Men & Mrs Helper Kitchen & Bath
I have used Handy Men and Mrs. Helper for many years and cannot recommend them enough. They have been involved in many major projects at my home (new kitchen, new deck, new bathrooms, etc.) but this particular job is one that I will continue to do each spring. Scott came out and power washed my deck, gazebo, house (even went up on the roof to do the chimney which was never done before), front brick patio, brick walkway, gazebo, and summer furniture. After all that work was done, he proceeded to set up my summer furniture, umbrella, flower pots, and two fountains. He also layed down two deck rugs, hung gazebo curtains, moved three bird feeders so I could clean them, and finally ended with installing a bracket and base for a deck mounted bird feeder. Scott is meticulous in his work and thoroughly completes every job he is asked to do. He is a true craftsman (he did my new kitchen and bathrooms) and is a joy to work with. I highly recommend Handy Men and Mrs. Helper and all of their staff. They are all professionals and produce quality work.

Business Description: I have been in the construction field for over 30 years. I have extensive knowledge and am a true professional when it comes to having pride in my construction projects. I have a list of references that I have done work for over the years. I am trying to build my business because I am tired of other construction companies not having the pride that I do when it comes to the construction field and people's homes. I have worked for large construction companies and small ones, and I feel it is time to be the one responsible for all aspects of my work. I can do anything and build anything you might need. Including custom cabinetry, woodwork, tiling, etc. I would love to make your home or small business something that makes you happy every time you walk into it.
