Recent Review: the three closet doors went very well and the garage door sptrip went good also, but when he got to the shed, he was supposed to rebuild the doors, upon inspection by both of us we decided to just replace the facial plywood, that he said he had on hand and would only charge me 49.00's for the 2 pieces of 2x4x7's, then he put boarders around the outside of it and then painted it. well now my shed doors won't open all the way like they did, and he claimed it took him 2 trips to Menard's for parts ,Why 2, i don't no, then he claim it took him 8 hrs to screw it all together, i still can't believe this. after all that for the total bill the 1st time it was 619.50 the second bill I got was 674.50 because he made a mistake in adding, then to top it off i was texted the 1st bill, then i ask for a itemized bill and his letterhead, i got a bill for some other companies logo from a different field and i'm a POA trying to figure this out. he is still texting me hatefull things,,,his name again is harry jackson
Reviews in Marseilles to Install Weather Stripping
CTons of Remodeling
We contacted Mr. Karger to rectify an issue we had with a lot of cold air coming in from the top, sides and bottom of three exterior doors. He told us that he could fix the doors with weather stripping for $75 per door. We hired him immediately for the job, and he did it promptly. However, when we checked his completed work we noticed that there was still air coming in from under the doors. We mentioned this to him and he suggested that we would need to replace the stripping at the bottom of the door ourselves. (That was part of the problem we hired HIM to fix!) After the job was done, he charged us $100 per door PLUS $80 in supplies. He DID NOT quote us that price OR mention supplies. We were quoted $75 per door....period. We would not have hired him if we knew he was going to increase his price. Aside from not taking care of the air coming in the bottom of the door and increasing the price, he did a good job. However, we STILL have cold air coming through the bottom of the door. :-(

AE A Knight Construction
A very professional worker installed a new thresh hold for our back door...had to actually build one since our old house was not compatible with any ready made thresh holds...applied weather stripping around the front and back doors....repaired one of our three way lamps (which is working fine now). Would recommend him to anyone.

AIllinois Valley Insulation
This was the best $$ I spent! I contacted Scott to inquire about an energy audit. We set up an appointment for him to come see the house and discuss my specific concerns. Scott explained to me the "blower door test" and discussed a Ameren Illinois program that I may have been eligible for due to being an Ameren gas customer. The "blower door test" was amazing, as I was able to see through the thermal imaging camera where air was escaping my home. Scott and his crew weather stripped, sealed some of the ductwork in the basement, chaulked around pipes & wall sockets, sealed other openings, added insulationm to my attic crawl space and the basement box sills. Scott also checked for gas leaks around the house. I was also given other suggestions to make my home more energy effient. Scott and his crew came to my home on four different ocassions. He was very flexible to work around my availability. Scott and his crew were professional and friendly. My 10 year old son was home on one of the work days and they answered his questions as to what they were doing and why. Always a PLUS with this mom if you are nice to my boy! : ) After the box sills were sprayed in the basement, our CO2 detector kept going off...Scott came back the next day with his CO2 detector to check to see if there was a leak or if there was just a film of dust from the spray insulation that was causing teh problem. He went above and beyond to ease my worries. I was very pleased with my experience and I highly recommned Scott and Illinois Valley Insulation for their service! He is very knowledgable and I valued his opinion on the other suggestions for energy efficiency! I really don't think my review truly gives justice to how happy I am with the work completed by Illinois Valley Insulation!

BFinal Touch Painting and Home Improvement
Dan is a nice guy. The work he did for me was very good and the kitchen turned out beautifully. His down sides are that he's usually later than he says, he still doesn't have the hang of handyman etiquette (come in the back door, don't track dirt in the house, don't park in the home owners space or in the yard, etc.) and he charged me 22% over the original estimate, which is a lot. So, his work is good, and he makes things right, hee's just learning to be more on top of things.

They were there on time. I would like to use them in the future but I don't know if we are going to because there were some issues where they had some problems with cleaning up. They are recommendable but not for our purposes.

Joe is very handy & can do most of anything. It's nice to have a handyman in the area that we can count on & is reasonably priced.

He was really good. I'm going to have him come back out and do more work for me. The price was what I excepted.
