Recent Review: It went good. I did end up with some damage to the end cap on my cabinet and I, of course, had the open door to pursue that and they did cover the cost of repairing it, but it was just, how it all went.

Recent Review: He arrived on time. Looking at the stove top that wouldn't light, it was decided that it would be better to have my mother-in-law buy a new stove than to replace the ignition system on her currant one. Her original stove was approx 15 years old. The cost for a new ignition system was comperable to a new stove.

Recent Review: Alliance Part Depot was called to repair the oven on our kitchen stove. They came out the next day and only took less then a half hour. I was surprised they had the part in stock but they did. That alone impressed me.

Recent Review: This guy is terrific! I called him, left a message, and he actually called back in less than 5 minutes. On time, professional, friendly, reasonably priced. His knowledge is amazing. He actually described the wiring to me before he opened the stove, knew the colors of the wires! He had the part in his truck as something he keeps in stock. I also had him check out my furnace, which was making a noise when it started. Luckily the noise wasn't unusual, and there has not been a problem. He does a lot of a/c work, really helped me with mine on a previous problem, several years ago.

Recent Review: Their service was fast. Even though they had a busy schedule they managed to work us in knowing we would need the stove for the Thanksgiving Holiday. They did high quality work. Other companies wanted to run flexible gas line because it is faster and cheaper. I wanted rigid pipe and that is exactly what they put in. I went under the house with them to monitor the job and they did it just as I wanted it done. Their prices were competitive with the current market. I would highly recommend Russell and Josh for your next electrical or furnace job.

FA Plus Appliance Repair
The contract I signed with A Plus Appliance on 5/27/14 stated the following would be ordered:2 thermocouples @ a total price of $84.38, 2 safety regulators (for the front of the 2 ovens) @ a price of $353.35.  I paid them $447.23 for the parts.  On 5/29/14, the owner (Rhea) called me and said that I needed to pay her an additional $216.  She said there was some confusion when she placed the parts order.  She told me, for over a month, that one of the four parts was backordered and that was causing the delay. I repeatedly asked her to send me an invoice that she had received from the parts manufacturer.  I wanted to make sure something had been ordered since I had paid $663.23.  She repeatedly said that was no problem and she would send it to me. Finally, on 7/2/14 her husband Eddie (co-owner) and two other individuals showed up to fix the stove.  Rhea finally sent me the parts invoice 30 minutes before they arrived.  The parts invoice shows the following:2 thermocouples @ a total price of $83.72, 1 regulator @ a price of $309.23, 1 regulator @ a price of $216.89.  The total with tax is $628.75.  They came in the house with the parts to repair the stove. They only had three parts - not four (as paid for above). They put on two thermocouples as agreed on in the signed contract.  The one regulator that Eddie put on was for the back of the stove where the gas line comes in.  He gave me some story about how this would fix the gas odor and it would control the gas flow if the stove were using less gas.  He stated this would fix all of my problems.  What a bunch of BS!  This is not what I ordered, this is not in the signed contract and obviously, he had no idea what he was doing because this regulator controls none of that!  The regulator he put on is a safety for the stove in case there is a surge in gas pressure from the tank.  I called Imperial (the stove manufacturer) to verify this.  The regulator on the back of the stove was not broke and it did not need to be replaced.  I also never authorized the order of it (per A Plus Appliance signed contract).  In the month it took for them to show up with the parts, no one from A Plus Appliance ever called and told me that they were ordering something different then what was agreed on in the signed contract on 5/27/14.  Eddie told me nothing was ever backordered.  They had originally ordered parts and decided to send them back to get this regulator.  I was lied to for over a month about this backordered part BS.  The only thing I should have paid for was the two thermocouples at a price of $83.72.  It is evident that this company operates a parts scam - fraud!  Of course the oven was not fixed when they left.  I turned on the gas and lit the pilots.  I had to turn the gas off two days later because of the same gas smell that I had originally called A Plus Appliance Repair to fix.  They did not have a gas detector to check for leaks.  How in the world would he know if it was leaking gas or not? On the Better Business Bureau complaints listed with her company, she has referred to customers as woman hater, customer from h***, out of their mind and liars.  This business should be shut down - this is nothing more than consumer fraud.  I have copies of my signed contract stating what I paid for, as well as the parts invoice (charged for four parts and received three) - I will be submitting them to the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Division.

The representative on the phone from the company said that if we signed the receipt we had no reason to be upset after the fact.  I would NOT use this company again.  They seem to be delighted to rip senior citizens off and justifying it after the fact.  VERY disturbing experience with the repairman and the company representative on the phone.
