Review for Elgin Master Bathroom Remodeling

AJVNA SOLUTION
We could not be more impressed and pleased with the work John and his team completed on our not so simple bathroom renovation. John was incredibly knowledgeable when unexpected plumbing issues arose, was able to fix them and solve for a better solution - we could not be happier with the timliness, professionalism, and overall care him and his team took on the job while working in our home. Highly recommend, and will without a doubt be using for our next project!

AHaris Inc
The work is professional, precise and they take great care to ensure your satisfaction. Ibro, the owner, works with you throughout the project to make sure it is completed to your standard. They are also very considerate of your home and leaving it in a clean condition. I would highly recommend, as there is no job that they cannot do to perfection!

AHandy Men & Mrs Helper Kitchen & Bath
They have done various small jobs for us as well as minor upgrades to our other bathrooms, so, we knew we could the expect the best. The crew did quality work and always highly professional. Wouldn't hesitate to ask them for help again.

ARegency Home Remodeling
Bruce and his team were great. Involved from design through finish. Bruce showed us multiple design options. Bruce runs the project and communicates the entire way. The quality of work was excellent and I would use them again tomorrow and certainly will when we have our next bathroom project. We did a complete gut job on our master bath and had a lot of tile work and it looks fantastic.

AHarmonious Decorating & Remodeling Inc
Rocky, but mostly due to my hiring and running the job. A few of my other contracted service providers were difficult and I ran into delays with material delivery. I would definitely hire Harmonious to run a job. They were great! Cornelius has complete knowledge and insight into all aspects of construction and all of Ron's employees were professional. I would hire them direct, don't use a coupon and don't be suckered into hourly contract, it won't end well. Just let Cornelius and the crew run the job and agree ahead of time on the price and scope of the project.

ARegency Home Remodeling
Regency did amazing work! Bruce always answered my calls in a timely manner and the installer who did the work Lucas was spot on giving us his professional opinion while keeping with the style we were looking for. Any delay or issue that came up was handled professionally. My existing shower door was damaged and Bruce replaced my shower door free of charge. I have recommended Regency Remodeling to two other people who will be using them. Thank you, Kevin

Brian and his team were great.  They made sure that everything was done to our satisfaction.  Brian kept us well informed of any issues, delays, or just the overall progress of the job. We are planning to use him for the rest of our remodeling needs.

AAMERICRAFT INC
This was the second major remodeling project that Americraft completed for us. Just like the kitchen remodel a few years ago we are very happy with our new space. The bathroom is beautiful. There was a lot of space to work with and many configuration options. The team was patient with us as we worked through the decision-making process together. We are quite pleased with the high quality of work, particularly the tile work.

AGlobal Home Improvement
Search no more. Global Home Improvement did an AMAZING job on our bathroom. I cannot say enough about Stanley, the owner and Rafael. On time, worked constantly and consistently until the job was complete. If there was any question about preference or location, Rafael would always check with us before he proceeded. Such great attention to detail and beautiful craftsmanship! My bathroom looks awesome. Also, a shower seat was built and a "barn door" style sliding door was installed. Working with Global Home Improvement was a great experience from start to finish. I would highly recommend them.  They responded to questions quickly, were on time and very neat and clean. My husband and I were so impressed. I look forward  to contacting them again for another remodel.

AIrpino Construction
Had Irpino construction do a complete gut and remodel of a master bathroom in a downtown townhouse built in 1998.  Quote also included some miscellaneous projects (inserting new ceiling lighting, some electrical work, etc)  This review is about a year after, so the details are not fresh in my mind, but I'll do my best.   I got quotes from 3 contractors, and Irpino's was the most expensive, but I went with him because his communication, organization, and professionalism was far and away the best of the three contractors I interviewed.   The project began in late October and extended into January.  It was originally slated as a one month project but that clearly went far beyond that - part of that was due to issues on both sides (I'll take a significant amount of the blame as choosing, designing, ordering supplies, and waiting for them to arrive turned out to be a bigger project than I had originally thought  Dominic had referred me to a number of vendors - some were great, some were pretty good.   The final result, aesthetically was awesome - the bathroom looks great.  There were some snafus along the way, none major, most resolved - some not.    The pluses: -like I said earlier, the communication from day one was always solid - Dominic was always friendly, responsive, and to the point.  When problems and concerns arose, they were addressed in a timely fashion.   -Dominic made some great suggestions regarding installation and basic design to help guide us through a lot of the process in regards to picking and choosing tile, fixtures, grout, paint colors and type,  countertops and essentially helped us a bit in turning the picture of our dream bathroom in our minds into reality.   He's definitely not an interior designer, but for a contractor, can give some great suggestions if you're not using a designer.   -his build team was consistent - had a lead foreman, two or three laborers that were consistent through the project - only additions were a subcontracted plumber and a subcontractor to fabricate and install the shower door.  The minuses: -again, cost was a bit more than other quotes, and the final invoice did come out significantly higher than initial estimate - again, some of this was due to the addition of smaller projects I added along the way throughout the house, some were due to unforeseen finds during the construction process.   -a few construction problems / functionality problems - again, not sure whether they could've been avoided but worth mentioning.          -sinks drain very slooooooow - still tough to get used to - not sure if it's a plumbing issue or a design issue, but had this            been seen ahead of time, we may have approached it differently.          -used 3x6" glass subway tile in the shower - through the winter, a number of these cracked - in the spring, Irpino did come out           and replace all of these, but still haven't been able to pinpoint the problem (temperature?  vibration?  installation?)   have had          one crack this winter so far as well.           -had a leak in the shower basin a few weeks after install - explained that it was due to existing piping and Irpino did fix          the next day.           -during demo, they did throw away some hardware (minor) that we were planning on reusing.          Summary:  End result - B+/A-   communication was always solid, and that goes a long way in my book.   Some issues with construction - still not sure whether or not they could have been avoided, but it is possible.  Price point a bit on the high side.   Update 10/14 - I have updated the overall grade to an A (from a B) - although we have had some design issues, Dominic has been great in addressing them and fixing them in a timely basis.  He has also addressed some other things not related to the project and has been very accomoodating.  Again, I stress quality issues may or may not have been avoidable, but Dominic has been nothing less than friendly and resposnive in addressing them.  After having worked with a number of contractors and design-build firms, I've learned to value communication and responsiveness as much, if not more than, quality of work and Dominic and irpino are the best I've worked with in that regard.

Recent Review: We highly recommend Design First. We needed our master bath torn out and redone due to water seepage behind the wall. We added some insulation as long as walls were open and chose to move the toilet and that involved some work with water lines and joists. We chose Design First because their price was competitive and they had positive reviews from others. This was a big investment for us, so we wanted it done right with experienced craftsmen and permits. We also liked the fact that they are very clear and transparent, listing all of the charges in this process upfront so you know what you are paying for before you agree to anything. They were very flexible with us supplying our own purchases and we made changes as needed along the way. The project manager, Derek, was terrific. He was hands-on as a supervisor and really quick to answer any questions we had. He got back to us within hours - sometimes minutes- and took care of any concerns. One example: after the shower was installed we did not like the shiny look of the silicone sealant applied at the base. The next day, they came out, removed it all by hand at no charge to us. The crew that worked in our home, headed by Damien, was skilled, cheerful and very efficient. They got our bathroom done ahead of schedule. We are very pleased with it, and would recommend Design First without reservation.

Recent Review: We gutted our master bathroom and removed a wall. Installed all new wall and floor tile as well as cabinetry and fixtures. Jose and Cesar are SUPER friendly and always want to help. They are attentive to all concerns and willing to make sure you are satisfied. This is a true family operation and they have a real great family. We will be remodeling another bathroom in 2019 and will definitely use them again.

Recent Review: I was referred to Barts Remodeling and Construction by my interior designer and I'm glad I chose them for my bathroom renovation. When I met with Bart, I thought he was very professional and personable and I was impressed by the very detailed estimate he provided. During the renovation, his crew was also very professional and their work was excellent. Bart and his staff were very responsive to any questions I had. When some of my materials didn't arrive when they were supposed to, they were very patient and worked me into their schedule quickly once they did arrive. This was the first renovation I've ever done on my condo and I feel lucky to have been able to work with such a great contractor!

Recent Review: We had our master bathroom remodeled. We had it done sixteen years ago by a different company and it was not done right. Megan did an excellent job on the layout and design. Gary was the project manager and was in touch with me often. The workers were clean and did a very nice job on the tile, glass and cabinets. There was a slight delay because of some materials were delayed but overall I am pleased with the workmanship of the project.
