My name is Kelly Morrison and I am the president of a six-unit condo association in Oak Park. We hired Anthony's Remodeling Painting and Decorating in May 2018 to paint and seal our three-story deck. Anthony was quick to get us a quote and was very responsive at first. The work was scheduled for May 17th, 2018 and a contract was signed, sighting the specific product to be used, two coats to be applied, as well as guaranteeing the work for four years. When the day came, Anthony's team used only one coat of the cheapest sealer possible, Thompson's Water Seal -- NOT the product we had agreed upon in the contract. Anthony's team was gone within 8 hours, and we were out $4000.00. Within a day, and over the course of the next six months, we reached out to Anthony Taglia over 20 times. We called, emailed, and begged for his crew to come back to fulfill the contract as signed, and to stay true to his four-year guarantee. The deck was sticky and unusable because the wrong product had been used. After a number of months, the Thompson's Water Seal wore off completely, and our deck is in the same exact condition it was before we spent the $4000. It is unsealed and completely exposed to the elements. I am writing this now because after one full year of reaching out to Anthony Taglia, our condo association has still not heard from Anthony's Remodeling Painting and Decorating, and we have decided to take legal action to recoup our money. Today is April 25, 2019. Today I sent out our condo's intent to sue letter to Anthony's Remodeling, Painting and Decorating, and I am also joining the Cook County State's Attorney's claim. Should Anthony Taglia fulfill our contract or give us a full refund, I will gladly provide an update to this review to reflect his actions. Until then, buyer beware!
