Reviews in Addison to Design an Interior Lighting Plan

Our experience with Wendy was outstanding! She is extremely professional and knowledgeable. Wendy assisted us with moving away from dull paint colors and old window sheer/swag treatments and she directed us to consider more modern custom Roman shades (which we love) and modern paint color ideas. Wendy discussed everything from the floor to the ceiling and those conversations got us thinking to the point where we had our hardwood floor replaced (with hardwood, but in an updated style and color). Wendy brought visible ideas via photos, paint samples, and window treatment samples. She spent time with us and discussed several options to consider for updates. When the time arrived for us to start the remodeling process, she shopped for the window treatment fabric, which we selected from her samples. Wendy's advice and suggestions took our living room and dining room from old and dingy to modern and inviting. Wendy is a wealth of knowledge and we highly recommend her services!

ADiana Gourguechon Interior Redesign
We have been in our home for three years and have not done anything in the form of interior design. So, we hired Diana for interior design tips. She was punctual, and provided ideas around redoing the window curtains and shades, paint, furniture placement (what we help with). She also provided a great deal of guidance around ingress / egress, placement of art and pictures, wall space management (what we didn't know we needed help with). All in all, very helpful ideas.

All the work was done excellently--totally professional, punctual and quickly without sacrificing quality. The guys were knowledgeable, polite and clean--meaning they did not track dirt into the house and were careful to put covers on their boots. A small thing, but it really indicates that these guys care. Top-notch service. They even made a return trip to address a related issue and make a small repair that was outside the scope of the initial job. We will definitely enlist the services of Rein again for future upgrades--such as interior light design. I recommend them without reservation.

Excellent. Linda was prompt and professional and a real pleasure to work with. She provided three layouts for my living room, which will help me make decisions about furniture purchases as I begin remodeling. She completed the work quickly and had good design ideas. This service was purchased through the Angie's List Big Deal.

Never using an Interior Designer before, I wasn't sure how the process worked, but Jennifer walked me through it step by step. Jennifer really took the time to listen to what I liked and what my style was. She made the process very visual by showing me examples and samples of what her vision was. She was very patient with me as I changed my mind numerous times with numerous different items. I will definitely use Redux again, when I am ready to complete the other rooms in my home. Overall it was a great experience for using an Interior Designer for the first time.

We were not pleased with the services rendered by this company. We felt they promised far more than they could actually deliver. Prior to hiring the company, we discussed the scope of the project and our budget. They assured us they could acheive our project plan (which was not especially huge) within our budget (which was not especially small). We checked their references and were satisfied enough to hire them. Full payment was required up front. Immediately, the ideas presented to us greatly exceeded our budget. Just doing one portion of the plan would have exceeded the entire budget, so I'm not sure why it was ever presented. Also, we expected to get full design ideas or at least selections. Mostly, we got catalogs and paint chip fan decks to flip through. Could have done that on our own. We felt that some of their recommended subcontractors were subpar, one to the point of unscrupulous. We found out later in the process that at least one of their "references" was a person they later recommended as a subcontractor. So, not exactly an unbiased person. To their credit, they were always responsive and punctual. They just seemingly had no project management skills. Mainly, they did not work within the budget they claimed they could, which was 80% of our reason for hiring a designer at all. Even though we had paid for additional services up front, we ultimately gave up working with them because there was no point throwing good money after bad.

$900-1000 retainer SInce we were on a set fee, we really were not given adequate attention. Richman is a talented and busy man who has branched out to a lower income population on a set rate vs hourly. He just put together our living room without much thought. We put in a order for what we were sure about. He lost the order. I had to hunt him down to get it. He never responded to some paint question I had. He never sent out pricing for some other items. By the time he followed up I was no longer interested.

We initially engaged Habitar Design to redesign our living room (fireplace, built-in cabinetry, built-in aquarium) and our family room (fireplace and built-in cabinetry). We provided some ideas of what we had in mind as well as our budget. MacKenzie's initial drawings were 99% on spec, and we only made one minor change to one of the cabinets when we finalized the drawings. When it came time to bid the work, Strategem (sister company to Habitar) provided us with one of the bids. We were impressed with with the incredibly detailed quote, which in the end, turned out to be exactly on spec. The only changes to the cost were because of additional items we added as the project went on. Finally, the craftsmanship and professionalism of Nick (project manager) and Sebastian at Strategem we're second to none. Communication was excellent, our place was cleaned up every evening, and, above all, the finished product is impeccable.

Andris is an equally solid person in terms of both ethics and quality of work. Its important as a homeowner to have realistic expectations and time-lines: based on my experience in DIY as well as hiring others to do small/medium-sized jobs Andris is easily at the top of my list. Quality of work: Excellent attention to detail, quality work (no shortcuts) and very knowledgeable Punctuality: always on time and always called/text if running a little late Cleanliness: this is a huge bonus on top of the quality work - he is VERY clean! Cleans up as he goes throughout the day and doesn't leave your home/area in shambles. Price: Very fair: most importantly he does a good job of overall sticking to his time-lines. its easy to find someone for a cheap price on the front end however those prices are rarely the final cost. he is fair/ethical Overall no complaints and recommend him to anyone. He is a licensed GC so no job is too big. He will absolutely be the first call i make when i have home remodeling needs in the future.

Recent Review: Arcbazar offers a very unique service. I was looking for some interior design ideas for a new home. There are many interior designer's that offer consultation services. They provide color options, ideas for furniture etc. Whats cool about arcbazar, however, is that it works based on a competition that you create on their website. Instead of getting one designer providing you one concept, you get multiple submissions from different interior designers. I created a competition to provide interior design ideas for my family room/kitchen area. I ended up getting 13 different design ideas. What I was impressed with was the quality of some of the submissions. Many of the designers submitted full color 3 dimensional layouts that made it a lot easier to visualize the design. They also provided a list of furniture, paint and accessory options. Overall I was very pleased with the results. Just be aware that you have to be reasonable about your award amount. You cant enter something like $50 and ask for a full interior design of your whole house. When creating your competition the website will give you a suggested award amount. This suggested award is based on the square feet of the area you wish to design. My only gripe with the service was their website. It's a bit rough around the edges and at times their site was very slow. Sometimes it could be frustrating to use. The only reason I didnt give the service all A's.
Recent Review: My wife and I began remodeling our condo several months ago. Throughout this process we kept looking for new window treatments and visited many of the well-known window treatment stores in the city. As time passed we became more confused and (frankly) began dreading the window treatment decision. My wife read about Susan on Houzz and we decided to give her a call. Susan was amazing to work with. My wife and I have worked with a number of interior designers over the years and we will both attest that Susan is at the top of this list. She is extremely professional and worked closely with us to understand our preference as well as our current home’s layout and décor. On the second visit she had ‘nailed it’ with a selection we are thrilled with. The new window treatments were installed yesterday and are beautiful. Roman shades were installed in the master bedroom and sheer panels in the living room. The installation was extremely well done and the quality of workmanship is outstanding. Her communication with us was fantastic as she kept us informed through every step of the process. We would give her our highest recommendation. She makes the process very easy!
