Recent Review: Pardon my French, but this was the window replacement story from H***. They are good salesmen, the product is OK, but the installation was one fiasco after another, with each consecutive handyman blaming the problems on the one before him. Problems included incorrect measuring, gouges in our windowsills, crooked cuts, forgetting tools (from 4 hours away!), windows installed so out of whack that they wouldn't open, doorknobs not keyed the same, having to replace one door and several windows because of flaws, replacement of our picture window SIX times before getting it not perfect, but acceptable (without cracks or flaws). I wanted a garden window in the kitchen. After two flawed products, I gave up and got a plain slider. It took three different keys to open our front and French doors. I gave up on the company fixing them and purchased new ones, keyed the same, for which they did reimburse me. I installed them myself. The outdoor caulk job on our two front bedroom windows was the worst I have ever seen. I am having to fix that myself, too. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. I think this company was trying to expand out of the Boise area, but when you do that, you need to send your best workers and check your tools and products BEFORE you leave the warehouse, especially when the job is 4 hours away. I will say that in an attempt to rectify the situation, they twice gave us $100 for our trouble, then only charged us 1/2 of our bill. That was nice, but honestly, NOTHING could have rectified the stress, worry, sleepless nights and outright anger at the poor installation and customer service. We do now have functional windows and doors, but I am reminded constantly of that whole situation and cleaning up the horrible caulk job is still on my list of chores. It has taken me this long to write the review because it took me this long to simmer down!

DHome Depot Inc
Still waiting!! We contacted Home Depot for a quote on July 15th and they were very prompt with sending someone to look at our damaged sliding glass door and basement window. We weren't excited about the quote for the door--as the cost was only $100 less than what we paid for the entire door and we only needed the section that slides. Unfortunately we couldn't buy a replacement directly from the manufacturer and decided to make the special order. The quote for replacing an old steel frame basement window was reasonable and we prepaid over $800 for the order with the information that the new door section and window would arrive in 2 weeks. My husband called August 17, but was told the items had not yet arrived but should be in the following Monday. We never received a call from Home Depot, so on Aug. 31st we visited the store. Our replacement door was there--not sure why no one called to tell us-- but it was damaged. It had been shipped with no protection and was scuffed with some paint stripped from the handles. With as much as we paid, we didn't want to accept any damage. Customer service wanted us to wait another 3-4 weeks for a replacement. Thankfully, a sympathetic employee agreed to swap it out for a stock door and complete the exchange internally. Our window is ready, but still no contact from Home Depot and no appointments (as of Sept. 4) for installation. I am considering cancelling the rest of the order and offering my business to someone else. Not sure if they will accommodate because I don't know if the window is a unique size. I guess Home Depot is too busy. I have shopped at Home Depot for years and have never had a problem. I won't stop shopping there, but will probably not order services from them again unless I hear of changes and positive reviews.

ACampbell's Quality Exteriors
Excellent jobs, both times. I would definitely hire them again or highly recommend them to friends. Window replacement for entire house was about $3,000 and fencing a large back yard was about $4,000.

Terrible! They never even bothered to call me back with an estimate or let me know they didn't want to do the work or anything. I even called the office and talked to the receptionist about it and they still never called me back. Terrible customer service!

FBURLEY GLASS & MORE
I contacted the manufacturer, who took months to come out and review the windows. They took a bunch of pictures, measurements and spent at least an hour looking at both sides of the window. A second crew came out several months later to finalize their findings. They called and asked if the installer had used their cable mechanism (required per their installing requirements). I told them I wasn't aware of the exact install, so they sent another crew to inspect that and found that no cable mechanism was used, thus voiding the warranty on the window. I called Ben and asked him to come back out and look at the window, fix it, replace it, whatever he could do to make it right. It took several phone calls and several missed appointments before he finally showed up. By then, the window center pane had failed, as well, since the whole window was leaning out from the house. Ben said he'd installed the window properly and couldn't do anything to repair or fix it. He said he's install a flat window for the cost of the window: $600!!! We decided to replace the window ourselves at a cost of $280 plus materials and a weekend of time. What we found when we removed the window installed by Ben was nothing but three (3) 2x4s toenailed at the top & bottom holding up the top of the window to the framing. Ben had installed three (3) angled 2x4s supporting the bottom of the window with nails. Two of the three were eaily removed BY HAND and the third one was the only piece of wood supporting the window on the bottom. I will never use Burley Glass and More to install, fix, replace or touch, in any way anything in my home again.

FVALLEY GLASS CO
I contacted Valley Glass in Idaho Falls, Idaho. On May 3, 2011 a representive of Valley Glass came and inspected the window.  We were told "they will get back to us". We called again on May 5, 2011 and May 11, 2011.  They still had not done anything to contact the window company, which is Amsco Windows. On May 17, 2011 I called and got a recording, saying "We open at 8:00 am"  It was 8:09 am and no one answered the phone, so I left a message.  I called again later that morning and  I spoke to Susan, and she said "I have a pile of work on my desk, and I guess it is buried".  She assured me she would research the complaint and get back to me.  I never heard back. On May 18, 2011 I again called in the morning at 8:06 am and again heard they message that they open at 8:00 am.  I called again at 8:09 am.  I called again at 8:11 am.  I left a messsage at this time.  I told them how long I had been trying to get someone to answer the phone.  I asked that the Manager call me.   I never received a return call from them. On May 20, 2011 I called again.  I spoke to Becky.  I had asked for Susan, but Susan was "out to lunch".  Becky said she would have Susan return my call.  I did not recieve a return call from Susan. May 23, 2011 I spoke to Becky.  She told me she is now incharge of warranty.  She said she would research the problem and call me before the end of the day. She did return my call, but it was to tell me she wasn't able to find out anything. I called Valley Glass again on May 30, 2011.  I spoke to Becky. She said "I have been bawling and crying to people all morning trying to get some information.  Trust me, I have been crying all morning".  I asked her who she had been calling.  She named a different window company than Amsco.  She had not even called the right company.  I asked Becky if I could please be given the phone number to Amsco and I would find out about the warranty.  Becky replied "Oh no, they would just refer you back to us".  She assured me she would be working on our complaint more throughout the day. In the afternoon of May 30, 2011 I recieved a phone call from a company reguarding our window.  IT WAS THE WRONG COMPANY!  Becky still had not contacted the correct people. As of today, June 2, 2011 we are still waiting on Valley Glass to just tell us if the window is covered on the warranty.  That doesn't sound too hard to me. I would NEVER  recommend Valley Glass in Idaho Falls, Idaho to anyone!
