Everything seemed ok at first. We wanted them to install a gas line but were looking for an estimate first. They came out, looked at the house and said they'd have an estimate to me the next day. This was a Thursday. Friday evening comes, nothing, so I called and was told by the receptionist that Tony (the guy who was supposed to give us the estimate) was out of the office but would have it to me over the weekend. Even still, I asked if I could leave him a message, which she said was fine and I left a voicemail for him. Weekend comes and goes, nothing. I call again on Monday, and Tony's in meetings. Again, I leave a voicemail and am assured by the receptionist that he will get back to me as soon as he's out of his meeting. Monday comes and goes, nothing. Tuesday I call again, get ahold of Tony finally and he says, "oh, uh, yeah I'm working on that today. I'll for sure have you an estimate by 5pm today." First thing - it's been 5 days and you haven't worked on it yet? When you told me it would be one day? Second, I'll believe it when I see it. Tuesday comes and goes, nothing. I call Wednesday, am greeted by the same receptionist with the same "How can I make you smile?" greeting. Something they clearly don't actually WANT to do, because I was told again that Tony was in a meeting and I could leave him a message. I tell her that he has been completely unresponsive and asked if there was any way I could be given more surety that he would, in fact, respond. "Sending you to his voicemail is really all I can do." So I leave him yet another voicemail, and by this time our project was crunched. This was a Wednesday. I called another service (Diamond K Heating and Plumbing - excellent, excellent service) and they came out within an hour and sent me an estimate within 3 hours. They came back and did the work two days later, which is a good thing because I STILL haven't heard anything from Tony and it's been over a week since he promised he'd "for sure" have me an estimate. Not even do the work, I just wanted an ESTIMATE. First Call Jewel's responsiveness was terrible. Their customer service was superficial and follow-through was non-existent. I can't speak to the work they do (who's fault is that?), but if it's anything like their customer service then I recommend anyone and everyone else first.
