Recent Review: After only a couple of months, the tub began leaking significantly. I called the service department and asked what could be causing the leak, since they had just checked it out for me. Tech said it could be one of several things -- seals, connectors, hoses, etc. Cost for them to come and check it out would be $65 trip charge plus $99 labor minimum. I reminded them that they had just checked it out. Tech said I would be charged for them to come again and look at it. I asked to speak with manager or owner, but tech said he was busy. So I got in my car and drove 35 minutes to the store. I spoke with owner face-to-face, and he said they don't replace any seals, hoses, etc., until something starts leaking. He said the tubs have seals that routinely leak after a few years, but they don't replace them until something actually goes wrong. He said they would check on the leak, but he would have to charge me $65 trip charge plus $99 labor minimum. I stated that I understood the situation perfectly. With that, I departed and will never do business with this company again. They don't stand behind their work, and won't do ANY preventative maintenance (even when they know it will soon be needed). To end the story, I contacted another hot tub store and they suggested that I replace the seals for the filter container. I bought 2 seals for $18 and followed their simple directions for installing them. That fixed the leak.

Recent Review: I've had excellent work from them. The prices are fair and they're very honest. I just use them all the time. I don't shop around. I just go to them. I could only say good things about them. What stood out about them was honesty, promptness and attention to detail.

Got a voicemail response from J&J the next day after getting their number from Home Depot as a sub-contractor. Called them back - only got voicemail. Left messages but no one called back and no one ever answered the phone - was always voicemail. Went with someone else.

They came out right away to check out the situation. When they saw that it was a power vent tank they said they'd have to get back to me. I heard nothing back. I called to follow up and mentioned maybe we'd be interested in going tankless. They sent out a guy to check out the tankless option and then never called back. I called. I went on their facebook page and sent a message to their customer service cetner. I finally gave up. Nothing. Went to Home Depot, ordered a tank, only to be directed to J&J. Still no call. So I called AGAIN, this time very frustrated that no one had responded to my multiple inquiries. They were very professional and apologetic on the phone. The gal I spoke to said she'd have someone follow up right away. Nothing. I am hesitant to give a bad review because of our great experience with J&J in the past. Also, I know that this is someone's livelihood and I don't take that lightly. But after receiving no follow up bid or communication after reaching out several times, I am irritated. Perhaps they're doing so well that they're too busy to keep up? Either way, I am taking my business elsewhere.

I have used him a few times for small household repairs.  He has installed an oven for me once before.  He has reinstalled a couple of doors in the past.  He has fixed fans for me.  Every time he does something, it has been done well.  His prices are fair.  He is hardworking and is always forthright.  Everything he does has been very thorough.  He does little extra things to make sure that what he fixes stays fixed.  I’m happy with everything he has done.  The only problem is that he is too busy to come out at times.  He is quite popular and has a lot of jobs in hand most of the times.

They did a great job.  They showed up on time and they completed the work within the time frame they stated. The fellows who performed the work were very polite, cleaned up the debris after their work and they were very conscientious.  I would use them again the future.

The overall experience was not at all what I would have expected from a licensed contractor (he drank 16 oz beers stashed in his truck), and it was unpleasant.  He talked me out of my materials choices, which I provided and made multiple runs to Home Depot and Lowe's for items he needed/didn't have.  Despite me getting down on all fours with a putty knife and scraping vinyl glue residue, he insisted on laying the floor over the still lumpy top surface, saying I "wouldn't notice at all".  Needless to say, I notice it every single day and it makes me sick that I spent so much money on such shoddy work.   The kitchen linoleum: I don't know if he was inebriated but he mis-cut totally the nearly $200 sheet of vinyl I'd purchased. There are gaps where the old vinyl shows through in front of the dishwasher and in the pantry.  At the entry to the kitchen, he made a huge glaring mis-cut - coming up 8.5 inches short of the door jamb (!) - which necessitated him making a sloppy, glued-in piecework in a very visible area.  I'd helped him move the refrigerator out into the dining room so he could work, and when it came time to push it back, I had a dolly at the ready but he insisted on just jamming it across the laminate floor, making multiple gouges and scrape marks!  The floor wasn't glued down except in a few points along the sides (he said it wasn't necessary) so whenever I vacuum, the entire floor is sucked up and I have to flop it back down repeatedly. (See photos) The kitchen trim molding:  I had new trim, and as he removed each piece of the old trim, I labeled it, took it outside, pulled the nails, and set it aside for use as a template in hopes to make for easy cutting of the new.  He acted angry that I didn't want to just put the (20+ year old trim molding) back down.  When he did install it, I noticed later there were innumerable gaps and areas where he'd used just one nail to secure an entire length of trim board. The downstairs bath area:  I'd recently pulled the old carpet from this bedroom myself, pull all the tack strips, and had hired someone to lay laminate. There were some areas along the floor trim board area where the plaster was pulled loose and I'd asked  Mike to smooth over the plaster so there'd be no gaps when the trim board was replaced.  Again, I labeled the old trim board pieces, pulled the nails, and stood there, handing him the new trim and old pieces to measure and fit.  Basically, he did an incredibly sloppy job of smoothing Spackle as evidenced by the photos I've attached.  I'm not that fussy, but this is a ridiculously poor job. The bath entry:  This is an approximately 3 x 5 foot area where a pedestal sink is situated, just outside the bathroom. I had wanted tile but Mike told me that was too much work and to just get panels in laminate as this would be easier for him to cut and install. I did find something at Home Depot that seemed to work and purchased that and the laminate trim board to tie the flooring and the newly floored area together.  As the laminate had raised the floor, there was a significant dip to the 'tiled' area and we discussed this, with Mike saying he would use the extra flooring to 'bring the two floors level'.  Unfortunately, this isn't what he did and again, as evidenced by the photos, there's just a thick line of caulk between the trim molding and the lower floor. He told me not to step on the trim for a day or two but that it should hold "just fine".  This isn't what happened as the first time a guest stepped on the side of the trim board, it snapped.  In one photo I've taken an envelope to show how much of a gap there is, and that the caulking obviously didn't extend fully.  Incidentally, he made a point of telling me what type of caulking to purchase, at $6 per tube, and I noticed he took all of it with him upon leaving. The pedestal sink has a huge amount of sloppy grout he installed.   This was an extremely disappointing experience. I felt I did everything I could to make his job easier as he was an elderly man, from pulling the kitchen linoleum and scraping glue residue, to pulling nails from the trim boards, to making multiple runs to the hardware store, to dragging my dolly up the stairs only to have him eschew using it and just slam the refrigerator across the floor (installed the year before).  It makes me sick to walk on the lumpy kitchen floor every morning, thinking how I stupidly spent my hard-earned money on such shoddy workmanship.   I realize the odds are remote that anyone will stumble across Mike Wall, of Wall To Wall Handyman, but if I can possibly spare someone the regret I've personally experienced, this review will have been worthwhile.
