We got off to a bit of a rough start- hidden costs, or at least lack of prior communication about costs. Chris, the painter, was thorough, and careful, although she didn't put drop cloths down as she had said she would, and also got paint on a new boot. I think these oversights were from a lack of experience- she called her boss several times with questions, and asked me for tools a couple of times. I was told several painters would be coming- she was the only one I saw and the job took longer than I had thought it would, probably because she was the only one doing it. The listed Angie's List price included prep. To me as a designer and special finishes painter with 20 years experience, that means filling nail holes and cracks. She said that wasn't the case; that all 'prep' meant was taping and putting down drop cloths. She apparently discussed this with her boss because in the end she charged less for the filling time than she had said she would, so it was a compromise I was happy with. She thought she was going to run out of paint so I purchased another gallon and in the end she didn't use it. Again, I don't think they were intentionally misleading me, rather I think it was being new to the business. Price, as was stated, was for wall painting only, so I paid to have the trim painted as well and she did a good job on it. In summary, the room looks very nice, I am happy, and I would recommend Chris. Thank you!
