Recent Review: Unplugged the line so water would flow to my humidifier on my furnace. This resolved my issue and my humidifier has worked fine every since. I have had this technician (Mike Connelly) do my yearly maintenance on furnace for many years and he is very knowledgeable and always does excellent work in a timely and professional manner. Armstrong has a professional staff and they are very reputable establishment plus their rates are reasonable. I have never had a complaint on their work.

Sales person was not pushy and was very prompt with his estimates. We accepted the proposal, scheduled an installation date, andproceeded to have the system installed. Recent Review: It went great from beginning to end. The salesman knew his products and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. I can't say enough about the crew which came out and installed the new system. We bought a Lennox system and so far everything runs great. Our gas and electricity bills have dropped a little bit as this system is far more efficient than our old one. The house seems to stay at a more even temperature and hot/cold spots have disappeared.

I had a heat pump and new furnace installed by this company 2 years ago. This was a top of the line Carrier system and it worked fine for a few months. Then the high side quit working and the unit would lock out. I called American Air repeatedly and if memory serves me they came out 2 or 3 times before the weather changed and it was no longer required to run on the high cycle. The next cooling season it began failing again. They came out again 2 or 3 times before they had to call in a corporate troubleshooter. He discovered the control board was bad and after replacing that the system worked fine. After that I put an addition on my house and called American Air to do the duct work. During that process I also had them install a whole house humidifier. I was quoted one price but it turned out to be about $75.00 more. It seemed like a fair deal still so it was installed. This is where my distaste for this provider begins. The HVAC unit I have is a high end Carrier product and the thermostat/controller allows me to set the humidity level I would like to enjoy. THIS UNIT HAS NEVER WORKED. I have had American Air out here at least 3 times since installing it and today they arrived for the final straw. I worked with one of the employees and we discovered the valve that pierces the water pipe to feed the humidifier was not functioning. We were able to troubleshoot it and resolve the issue. About that time the owner of the company showed up and we explained what the issue was. The employee finished up the resolution and on the way upstairs the owner told me he was going to charge me half a service call and for the humidifier pad they swapped in. I told him I would pay for the pad but I was not going to pay for a service call because this thing has never worked. I have never had a humidity range higher than 31% and it usually runs around 28%. I have the humidity range set for 45%. The owner of the company then blew up and told me this was the last time he was going to ever come out and warranty my system. He informed me if I need service I was going to have to use another company to resolve my issues. This has been a hassle since the initial install of the heat pump. I had the utmost respect for Carrier products but I will use Lennox the next time !! I would never recommend using American Air Conditioning for anything because the owner is too erratic and has not performed at a service level I would expect from a high end product.

called Kalins and had somebody over within 30 minutes ... guy was nice and very friendly and explained everything to me step by step . there was a piece of insulation that had blown inside the blower from one of the ducts .. No more bed vibrating yea .. he check ed everything and also replace filter on humidifier which was causeing the runny noses and scrathy throats ... Little tweaking here and there and furnace was good as new. Very resasonable price and will do business in the furture . Thanks Kalins

My experience with this company is a real enigma. They presented themselves in a very professional manner in terms of their website, vehicles, presentation, sales process and installation. However, service after the installation as well as some of the installed components have been a disappointment. Sales process - very professional, knowledgeable and priced competitively with other companies - I would give them a B Installation - The team that installed the equipment were very professional, conscientious, prompt and dedicated to doing quality work - they were great and I would give them an A+ Materials and equipment - Major equipment (geothermal) appears to be of good quality from a reputable manufacturer. Peripheral equipment (air diffusers, water heater, thermostats) appear to be less expensive, lower end products. Air diffusers are plastic models that had to be modified by the installers in order to fit the vents. Air flow causes them to unscrew from the base and fall to the floor and two have broken already. Water heater was not energy star rated and thermostats in two of the three zones were inadequate to fully utilize the functionality of the equipment. It should be noted that after our complaint, one of the thermostats has been upgraded but we are still waiting for the other. Service after installation - shortly after installation we had a cold front come through and found that two of the 3 zones were not working properly. I made numerous calls to the sales person but no action was taken. I also called the service technician and left messages stating the problem. These calls were not returned and no action was taken. In fairness, this occurred over the holiday season. I finally had to call the owner to get a response. A week later they were here to fix the problem which turned out to be improper wiring and a non-compliant thermostat. The technician did not have adequate information on the equipment to fix the problem so a temporary solution was put in place. A week later they returned to fix the wiring and replace one thermostat with a slightly upgraded model. Follow-up - I had to again contact the owner in order to get them to follow-up on rebates and tax incentives. I was disappointed when he tried to hit me up for additional charges after we had agreed during the sales process that our contract would cover all costs. Installing a new geothermal system was a learning experience. We were likely over dependent on Neighbors to ensure quality materials and did not think about questioning the quality of the vents (air diffusers), water heater and thermostats before signing a contract. In retrospect, we should have questioned every component including those that seem minor. We simply did not think about them cutting corners on these components. The service is still a big question for us. We are located on the outside edge of there normal service territory so it may be different if we were closer. We questioned this during the sales process and were assured service availability 24/7. We will see what happens in the future. We still have one zone not working properly which is partially due to the low end thermostat.. Overall, I think Neighbors has the potential to be a good or even great company. They do some things very well but need to extend this throughout their customer commitment. Since my previous review, management at Neighbors has been involved in an attempt to correct the original issues. I appreciate their direct involvement and we are making progress in acheiving the original goal of three zone heating and cooling. I do believe this company is dedicated to providing quality products and service in a professional manner and to fulfilling their commitments. My experience working with Neighbors Heating and Cooling has improved over time and I would recommend them to others within their service area.
