Business Description: At Gutterworks in La Vista, NE, we provide quality gutter installations, gutter covers / protection installation, gutter cleaning, pressure washing, roofing and siding services. Wood repair associated with gutter work such as fascia and soffit replacement is expertly handled to make your home improvement project an easy one stop shopping experience. We also are experts in built-in gutters We cover metro Omaha and the surrounding cities, including Council Bluffs. Roof leaks, chimney leaks, historical renovations, built-in gutters are just a few of the types of jobs we have done over the 22 plus years in business. We offer all types of roofing from the simple three tab shingle to the modern fiberglass laminated asphalt shingle, to wood shakes, or low slope rubber or modified asphalt. Gutters help protect your home’s foundation from water damage by draining rainwater away from your roof and foundation. Clogged or leaking gutters are the number one reason for wet basements. Gutters perform badly if they are clogged with leaves or filled with ice or snow. One way to improve gutter performance is to have them cleaned regularly by our gutter cleaning service. Another way is to purchase gutter covers to minimize or eliminate cleaning and ongoing maintenance costs. We specialize in gutter covers and offer four types of products while most of our competitors offer one only. All of our products have been field tested and proven for at least 12 years. From the budget concious ShurFlo, to our flagship LeafOff, we try to match your needs to the best system for your home and tree situation. We will be glad to advise you of all available options. Please contact us by phone (402) 333-8767, to discuss your problems or set up a free consultation and estimate

Recent Review: Roof was damaged by hail. Received insurance money to remove and replace roof. Pyramid came out and removed and replaced the shingles in a full day's work, with shingles of my choice. Following the replacement, there were a couple leaks that were found. Pyramid came out to fix one of them. However, their responsiveness of coming back out for fixing leaks left a lot to be desired.  Pyramid stated they would come out to fix the roof and repair the drywall ceiling that was damaged by the leak but after several phone calls, nothing was scheduled, and I've since given up.

Recent Review: They did a fairly good job and cleaned up pretty well although I found quite a few leftover nails in the yard and rolls of nail gun reloads in the gutter. I also had a residual leak around the chimney due to the flashing not being put back properly and sealed. I repaired it myself rather than mess around.

We recently had Marathon Services replace shake shingles on our roof with asphalt shingles. Paul Stoural, the owner, helped us out with the insurance company and proved to them that we had enough hail damage that the roof needed replacing. Paul kept us informed through the whole process and started the work when he promised. The crew was efficient and did their best to keep from damaging anything. They cleaned up every evening before they left and rolled the yard for stray nails. The roof looks great and we were satisfied with their work. We would recommend Marathon Services to anyone.

These people are the poster children for nightmare storm chasers. They appeared after a hail storm swept through in late 2011. The initial contact for the company who prepared the contract disappeared to Texas soon after the signing. The principles for the company are James Brian Mater and Deena Hunt. Sometimes listed as owner, employees, president and VP, etc. - it varies. The company may be listed as either Incorporated or an LLC. Most everything on the house was better off before they touched it. Gutters: The people sent to measure for the gutters arrived unscheduled and high on something. When they came to install they had poor equipment that kept throwing the breakers in the house and left a mess of scrap and the worst gutter install ever. They beat the old gutters off the house, damaging the face boards. After we complained, Mr Mater came back and did the entire job over again. Then showed me where I was supposed to finish the caulking.  Roof: The roof is a mess of bad metal work with many underdriven nails throughout. The contract was not adhered to and the "W" valleys were left out. The shingles are sloppily lapped in the valleys with no metal underneath. Ice and water shields cut short or omitted. Cuts at the roofline are ragged and sometimes too short. No warranty or documentation was provided on the shingles. The entire roof needs to be replaced. Mr Mater wanted to put a lot of sealer on the nail holes and call it good. Skylight: The skylight was replaced with the cheapest piece of junk they could find. Single wall, even though Mr. Mater stood there and assured me it was double wall. Installation is also bad - entire light is being replaced. Chimney: The damaged chimney pipe was triple wall dual fuel pipe. Again Mr Mater showed up with the absolute cheapest thing he could find and lying about the pipe that was replaced, even though I still have the paperwork from when it was purchased. Mr Mater is constantly unavailable by phone with a litany of excuses for not returning calls - I was in the country...  My phone does not work... You must have left the message on the wrong #, etc. The pipe they wanted to install could burn down the house with this type of stove and you can see daylight throught the pipe installed inside the house. The chimney pipe fiasco was the last straw and resulted in his firing on April 9, 2012. The tarp they put over the hole came off and when we went up to replace it (of course we had to do it ourselves as no one could be contacted) we were walking on all of the nails that were coming through the shingles. See Photos of the mess at:       http://www.flickr.com/photos/mjwright/sets/72157630051607386/ Mr Mater has called and threatened me with a law suit. This company travels from area to area following storm damage, setting up offices and claiming to be local and with the BBB. The BBB here has never heard of them. They obtain short term licensing and pick up just "whoever" to do the work, then when your roof starts to leak they are long gone. When I asked for his licensing # here he gave me a # belonging to an Allstar electrical company in OK. That company has never heard of him and his IA license had expired. Everything is about a run around, poor workmanship, substandard materials and a lot of lying. Run as fast as you can!

This company gets a mixed review. The installation of the shingles and gutters went smoothly for the most part. They were prompt and appeared to do good work. The materials etc were cleaned up upon finishing. Their employees were good workers. The reason we needed new gutters was that the old gutters were inadequate (too small and small downspouts) and rainwater spilled over causing damage to the siding and the facia board that the gutter was attached to.The problem we encountered is that the new gutters were installed on the old facia board, some of which was rotted. Maybe they felt that replacing the facia board wasnt a part of their job, but they should have mentioned it rather than just installing new gutter on old rotted board. When we pointed it out, they didnt wish to correct the problem but choose to ignore it. To do the job correctly, they should have looked the project over properly to begin with and bid it including replacing any rotted facia board. There wasnt that much board to replace and it would have been the right thing to do.On a side note, we have not had a significant rainfall to determine whether the gutters are adequate so I cant say whether the gutters themselves are adquate at this point. The other issue is that they had sub contractors do all of the work (for both roofing and gutters) and I asked for a certificate of insurance (specifically workers compensation coverage) from the subs and never did receive a certificate. (in fact, they were unfamiliar with what I was even asking for) It is important that employers provide insurance for employees when they are working in dangerous and elevated areas and if they dont have coverage then the home owner is liable for any work related injuries. I questioned that the subs actually were insured and think they probably were not.For these reasons, I have to give this company a mixed review. The shingles and gutters do look good, however, as I mentioned, they ignored the rotted board and were probably not insured.

AEverlast Exteriors
Used Angie's list & BBB to narrow down contractors.  Got a few estimates Everlast and another company were in the ballpark and one was totally out of it, twice as much! I estimated my cost at the retail price and got the bits.  Everlast was in the expected area for the roof redo and well below for the gutters because they were running a special at the same time as the roof repair. Brent, the owner was very easy to work with and made suggestions to improve the life of the replacement roof and the comfort in the house.  His work crews were very, very good!  Showed up when they were suppose to and did their work with no disruption for me.  A lot easier they I thought it would go. Can't say enough about Everlast.
