Recent Review: I originally had a Lennox (I sometimes refer to it as a Lemon in Freudian Slip fashion), anyway, I had inherited this Lemon Heat Pump when I bought my house in May 2003. The Lemon Heat Pump had been installed in 2002 by the previous owner to the existing 1976 back up Electric Furnace and Air Exchange unit in the house. Starting 6 months after I moved in, I had problems with the Lemon Heat Pump. Even though the Heat Pump was under warrantee, I had to pay for the service calls, labor, and coolant. I had a succession of failures in the Heat Pump which was getting really expensive. I complained to Baete Forseth about the mounting costs, and after an expensive failure of the Heat Pump about 10 months after I'd moved in, Baete Forseth went to bat for me with Lennox and the Lemon they'd sold me. Lennox (Lemon) told Baete Forseth it was their installation fault, but couldn't point toward a specific cause, then eventually settled on the excuse of the 1976 Lennox Air Exchanger was not compatable with the 2002 Lennox Heat Pump, which, from what I could see, had nothing to do with the Heat Pump, all the failures with the Heat Pump involved the compressor and change valve in the pump itself, plus leaking coolant coils. I contacted Lemon myself and eventually offered to purchase a new inside Air Exchange/Electric Furnace and pay for the install if they provided a new external Heat Pump and paid for Baete Forseth to intstall that, my reasoning was that it was obvious to me that the Lennox Heat Pump was just a poor quality pump with mounting successive failures that were all related to each other (loss of coolant caused the compressor to fail which caused the valve to fail, which overheated the coolant which caused the coil to leak again). Lennox refused my offer. As a result, I shopped around and settled on a Coleman system, which Baete Forseth sold. I hired Baete Forseth to install it about spring 2004 and it has worked great since. My relationship with Baete Forseth is stellar, they come out when I need service, they are fast and reliable, and they are reasonably priced. I'd purchase another Coleman from them and hire them to install it without any concern of being overpriced or any concern about quality of the equipment. In a side note, Baete Forseth hauled away a Lemon Heat Pump to the salvage yard that was still under warrantee (what a piece of junk).

Recent Review: I called on a Wednesday afternoon because my heat pump wasn't keeping up with the warm weather.  Jackie was able to come out the very next day, which I thought was very responsive.  She was able to find the problem in rather short order and went to get the part and had my heat pump back in working order yet that day.  It's been working fine for several days now.  I asked her about an estimate on some other work in my basement.  She took some notes and said she'd have Rob come out to quote the work in a few days.  He was a bit late for our appointment, but was apologetic and an all around nice guy.  We had a good conversation about my options and how he would price them.  His quotes were fair.  I have yet to decide how I'll proceed, but I have certainly had a good experience with Thorson so far.

Recent Review: We took three bids, one from Lambert Heating, one from Frisbees and one from Roger's. Lambert sells Bryant equipment, Frisbee's and Roger's both sell Carrier equipment. We asked Roger's for a bid because two people at my workplace independently recommended them highly. The Bryant bid was highest but not overly so considering they have high end merchandise. The Frisbee's bid was in the same ballpark as Roger's. Both the Lamberts and Frisbee's sales folks created their bids on the fly on the initial visit. Roger's made a second visit bringing a professional bid comparing three options including a heat pump option. The reason we chose Roger's was the professionalism of the salesperson (Roger himself) and the logical solution he proposed. The Frisbee's salesman was confident with his recommendations but he did not know as much about the plumbing piece as Roger did. Frisbee's was going to charge me about $285 for the extra plumbing and said it would be a tough job. Roger didn't think it was that tough and he agreed to do it for free if I accepted his package. My wife and I felt very confident working with Roger. His installer did not disappoint either as he was professional, hard working, and knew his business. Roger's was very professional, did a great job, gave us no surprises on cost, filled out all the rebate forms, handled all of the permitting and inspections, and left a neat and clean installation. Roger also did a post install visit to make sure we were happy, to make sure we knew how to use the equipment, and delivered the filled out (as far as he could) rebate forms. We highly recommend Roger's if you need work done.

FWaterbury Heating & Cooling Inc
We purchased a Lennox Heat pump from Waterbury a few years back and it has been a nightmare ever since. It started with the deliver. They promised it by a a certain date and after a month of complaining we finally received the unit. (we should have canceled the order at that point!) Every change from heating to cooling or cooling to heating has required a service call to get the unit to work. There is always some minor reason according to them. My feeling at this point is they are not qualified to do this work,Lennox heat pumps are junk or both. I will never do business with this company nor buy a Lennox system again. (I am planning on replacing the furnace this year so both have lost a sale!!)
