Menting Masonry & Waterproofing Inc
Recent Review: They arrived on time and immediately began preparing the area they were to start working in. The owner explained everything they were to do right down to the most minute detail. They answered every question I asked in detail. I can honestly say they the workers and the owner were the most professional and courtious people I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. By Tuesday, they had completed 2/3 rds of the job which amazed me. They took their breaks and lunch, but when it came to work they worked and worked hard.  By Wednesday at noon, they were waiting on the city inspector to arrive so they could complete the work. They completed the job before the estimated time of Thursday afternoon. I would not hesitate to recommend them and would do so proudly.

Recent Review: Previous piering companies had tried and failed to solve our sinking foundation problem with undersized piers. After researching available options and getting quotes from a few companies, we chose Expert House Movers to excavate around our foundation, install custom made piers to support the weight of our house (full masonry, stone foundation, slate roof and terazzo floos) and spray a rubberized coating on the below ground portion of our foundation to stop future water penetrations in our stone foundation. They showed up promptly, performed the necessary work in a timely matter and were careful of the landscaping we wanted to keep. The job itself took longer than anticipated mostly due to additional work needed once the foundation was exposed (tuckpointing, new window wells, etc). There was minor damage to the sprinkler system and the water service line, but we were compensated for the damage by EHM. My only complaint was the amount of old drainage pipes and broken concrete that was left on site during the work and not removed until the end of the job.

Recent Review: They were very good at doing. The basement over here.
Behncke Construction Inc.
Recent Review: This is the company to go to for anything related to basements. Our basement walls were bowing and we were getting water in the basement. They installed steel beams to stop the movement of the walls and put in a drainage system. They were great to work with, and we couldn't be happier with the quality of the work. They saved the value of our home!
Bix Basement Systems
Recent Review: Absolutely beautifully. no water in basement and it is ready for the waterproofing.
Thrasher Inc
Recent Review: Trasher crew showed up on time, took extra care in making share that area to be renovated was screened off from rest of house to keep out the dust.  They installed a water drainage system, triple sump pump and protective water barrier in the unfinished portion of our basement as well as a water drainage system in the finished portion of our basement.  We have been plagued by water seepage in the spring and summer and had exhausted all other professionals in determining the cause. Matt Smith was the estimator and was very knowledgeable about the cause and the solutions. We were impressed by the warranty for this system and the annual maintenance package (cost was very minimal). Work was done as promised and everything was left very tidy and clean.
Midwest Basement Systems

Very well even though the company that did the  block basement did not put adequate footings originally in basement in our 100 year old home.

Bix was on time and on schedule. The initial installation did not entirely solve the problem and they returned immediately to make modifications that resulted in a water free basement at no additional cost.

We called in January 2016 to get a quote for our basement repair. Our consultation was scheduled for two weeks out, which didn't seem too bad to me, especially considering that we were over an hour away from their office. The gentlemen that did our consultation was friendly and did a great job of explaining everything to us, at the time. The issues came into play when we decided to move forward with the job. We spent two months completely removing everything from our basement - a spare bathroom, built in shelving, workbench, and all of the items we simply had in storage. We even had to pay over $1000 to have our electrical box moved so it wouldn't be in their way. We had absolutely everything in place when they arrived to begin the repair. An hour after they were supposed to start, I received a phone call from one of their employees telling me that our basement floor wasn't thick enough for the job that needed to be done and that they'd have to replace the basement floor too - for an additional $10,000. This seems like something that should have been checked before the day of the project. The guy seemed blown away that I didn't want to proceed with getting the job done. I was beyond mad that we spent months preparing for this only to be told that we'd have to pay them over twice as much to get the job done. We're preparing to start this process over again and I can assure you, we will NOT be calling Midwest Basement Systems for quotes or repairs and we absolutely do not refer them to anyone we know.
