Recent Review: The Owner, Drew Davis, is the most professional contractor I've ever dealt with.  He began work immediately, stayed on schedule, and stayed within budget.  Drew pays attention to every detail, even the wattage in the light fixtures!  We had a couple of surprises when demolition began that no one was expecting.  Drew quickly notified me and then solved the problem at a fraction of the cost that I was expecting.  He literally saved me hundreds of dollars and precious time that I would have had to invest had I tried to solve the issues myself.  And believe me, I've had contractors grind to a halt before when the smallest issue arises. You will not find many contractors with the initiative that Drew has and you cannot put a price on this.  I would not hesitate to hire Better Home Remodelers again.  Drew raised the bar for kitchen remodelers.

Recent Review: First steps were to tape up the doorways and protect the flooring, so that the rest of the house was not impacted. The tear out was fast and smooth and debris was removed same day. other contractors such a plumbers and electricians were all managed by Schroer and Sons, and were all very professional. Some additional task we did not ask for bids on (such as adding a new screen door and flooring) was added by us at the last minute and was taken care of with out issue. Also in the tearing out of the wall, we thought we would need a support beam, which was part of the original bid. After deconstruction it was found that it was not a support wall, cutting the cost and complexity of the project with they passed back to us.

Recent Review: I couldn't be happier with my new kitchen!  I had no idea what a kitchen remodel involved and looking back I am impressed at how patient and helpful Gary was throughout the process.  He listened to my ideas and offered some of his own.  The result is a beautiful, top-quality kitchen that is a joy to work in.  Note: seriously consider his suggestions. There were 2 suggestions  he made to me that if I had not done, I'd be kicking myself now. He does not pressure you to make these kinds of changes, but obviously he knows what he is doing and I'm sure glad I listened. He is the utmost professional.  They were here on time every day, I always knew when to expect them, and had progress reports at each step.  The bid was exact, and there were no surprises.  This is a messy job but they were good about keeping things as tidy as possible. Have I mentioned that I absolutely love my new kitchen?  I am not expecting to have  to re-do this kitchen again, but if I do another kitchen somewhere, I won't use anyone else.

Recent Review: We really had a good experience with the Cabinets Galore crew in Hiawatha for our kitchen remodel this last fall for the following reasons: Patience - first and foremost! We knew we wanted new cabinets with some specific features, but we didn't know what we really wanted as far as color, door style, etc.   They spent a good deal of time asking us how we wanted to use the kitchen (entertainment kitchen, daily use kitchen, etc), what our budget was, how we "honestly" would use the kitchen (stuff that may look nice in the showroom may not be practical for daily use).  They walked us through the pros/cons of the various wood species and cabinet features.  Finally, they were a great sounding board for us once we narrowed down our choices...what color combinations actually worked, what really wouldn't work, etc. Flexible - When we remodeled our kitchen, we had a couple of options on how we could have laid out the cabinets.  They went through the extra effort of rendering both drawings so we could have an idea of how it might look and how the measurements would actually work with our layout.  Detail - They made multiple trips to our house to get the measurements THEY needed.   We obviously started with the rough measurements that we brought in, but they made sure they had the measurements they needed to make certain they could deliver the product properly.   One of the bits of detail that really made a difference for us was that we had one wall that was going to have bunch of cabinets on it.   When they were doing the work to lay out the cabinets on their software, they felt that it looked too "flat".  Their suggestion was to place a slightly deeper cabinet at the end of the row of cabinets to give the kitchen a little more "texture".  THAT'S what we wanted.  Someone to look out for us while doing this.   Pricing - We priced cabinets and countertops at a big box store that we felt we could live with.  Weren't that excited about them, but they were ok.   We really figured Cabinets Galore would be out of reach for our budget.   Turns out, they could give us a better quality product, at about the same price and we REALLY like what we purchased from them.  We found them to be a great group to work with and highly recommend them.

Recent Review: The cabinet-maker/countertop company that Ar-Jay subcontracted for the routing and installation of the Quartz counters was top quality from start to finish. They were cheerful, professional, and prompt. They tore out our old countertops and installed our new countertops (with undermount granite sink) in about three hours. They also reattached the built-in dishwasher. They did an absolutely thorough cleaning job before they left, too!!! I should add that the cost of my countertops ran higher than most, because I picked a fairly rare, patterened Quartz.

Award 2018Super Service Award
Recent Review: They made and kept an appointment to estimate the work and spent lots of time researching all the details of my 40+ year old plumbing system. I asked them if they could email the estimate and they arranged to do that. Once I accepted the estimate they scheduled the work and arranged it even sooner than I expected. The plumber who provided service was very friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. They took care of the necessary building permit for the plumbing work and arranged the inspection. They even thought to email their invoice. I couldn't be happier with this company.

CKITCHEN SOLVERS OF MARION
Overall it was good. All of the pre-meetings were great. However, Gary made it seem like he would be able to contact the other services to keep them on schedule, but when it came down to it I was having to make calls and leave work to get things wrapped up. Also, he preapprived a back splash to install and then when it came time to install it, he tried to say it wasn't going to work and if it looked bad ..oh well. We ended up having to have to purchase specific electrical covers to cover the botch job. He used the wrong blade to cut it and the edges and cut pieces looked very bad. Also the cabinet doors hit each other when open and would rub. He tried to tell us it was due to full overlay doors, but an experienced craftsman would have known how to space them. Ultimately after a strong conversation the hinges were changed and that fixed most of the issues. His partner also smoked in our garage and we are a smoke free home.
