Recent Review: The service was fine. Nothing really stood out. They made the appointment for their sales pitch and everything was good. The pitch was good, the salesman was good and the worker was good. The problem was, once I went through with it I kept getting calls, calls, calls and calls almost every week going new siding, new this or that. I wanted them to leave me alone. It I wanted work done I would have called them back.  The work was also good. They kept hounding me all the time and wanted a letter telling people how great they did.

Recent Review: I was very pleased.  I bought the windows Brian recommended, and they have worked wonderfully for me.  I installed them myself, and Brian gave me some good advice and pointers about what kind of windows to buy and how to install them.  The windows have performed flawlessly.  They insulate very well and do an excellent job blocking sunlight.  I am very pleased with both the windows (MI brand) and the helpful information I got from them.

Recent Review: This is a review for Window Depot and Josh Neuhaus, the person we worked with on this project. We needed to replace the windows for our multi-family property. We called a few local companies, and narrowed the decision down to two companies. We eventually decided to go with Josh and Window Depot, and we ended up very happy with the decision. Josh probably met with us 3-4 times before any work was done. He patiently and professionally answered all our questions, brought window samples, explained the benefits and guarantees, etc. We definitely appreciated this from Josh, since we were making a large investment to replace over 100 windows and we wanted to make certain that we were making the right decision. Unfortunately, we had a fire at the property and had to replace one of the windows right away. Josh suggested that he replace the window as a test to see how the finished window would look. That was a very savvy suggestion, as we were pleased with how the window looked at completion. After that, we decided to go with Josh and Window Depot. By the time we were ready to move forward with installing the new windows, we were still at the tail end of winter (February). We stayed in close contact with Josh, and had to change the installation timeframe. We were able to compromise on a time, and thankfully the weather cooperated. The truly great part was that Josh’s crews were able to complete the entire job in 1 week; we were expecting the installation to take 2 weeks. For such a quick turnaround, the installation was done very well, and we were very happy with the final result. The tenants were also very happy to see the new windows installed, and we received many compliments about the new windows and how quickly and professionally the windows were being installed. There was no mess after the installation, and Josh’s crews hauled the old windows away. No muss, no fuss. So we undoubtedly would definitely recommend Josh and Window Depot in the future. They did an excellent job at our property, and were very easy to work with. We’d be remiss if we didn’t also mention Jeanne, the Operations Manager. She was also very helpful and wonderful to work with throughout this process. Overall a very professional, pleasant and cooperative experience that ended with an excellent product installed on our property.

They did an excellent job. It makes such a difference in holding the heat in in the winter & keeping the heat out in the summer. The men who installed really know what they're doing & were really great.

AHome Town Restyling
This is an update to my original review for Home Town Restyling, posted on 12/01. Not only did Dave post a reply to my review in which I wrote about not receiving the Casey's gift card, he gave me a call. In that he apologized more than once for the card not being sent. He made it clear that HTR is dedicated to customer service and maintaining a strong reputation. Today, a couple days after we spoke, I received the $50 Casey's card that he promised in his response and on the phone ($25 original card and an additional $25 for the misstep). I am pleased to update the review. HTR made a promise and delivered, and made a very good impression on me. Good business practice. Thanks, Dave.

They installed the windows on time and did a professional job. I'm happy with the product and the installation. I would recommend them to anyone that is looking for replacement windows.

When the windows came in they were the wrong size. The installer had to remeasure the windows. I had taken a day off from work so I could be there when they installed them ,but they couldn't because they were the wrong size. They reordered the windows they came in about two weeks later. So that I didn't have to take off any more work they set up a Sat appointment to install them. The installers did an great job on the installation , they cleaned up the area around the house where they had been working, took off their shoes when they came in the house . After the first problem with the wrong size, I am very pleased with the windows they look and work good. The difference in the amount off heat that is blocked, compared to the old windows is very remarkable. The windows are on the south side of our house, during the hottest summer days they are cool to the touch on the inside. We had half of our windows replaced this spring and I plan on doing the other half next spring and I'm planning on using HCI again .

We had a Bay window installed in our house approximately 5 years ago, we had numerous issues with this window company, but we love the way it looks and are still very happy with it. We needed to replace a couple other windows in the kitchen and started looking to replace them with a bay window as well. I wanted the two bay windows to be the same or as close as possible, so against my better judgement, we went with the same company again. The estimate was done very timely, contractor was nice, prompt etc. When it came time to install the window, which he assured us would only take a half a day, he called and said his crew and quot;bailedand quot; on him, so we had to postpone the install for another week or so. He finally showed up to install it, help arrived later to lift the window in and all was proceeding very nicely. He was putting up the inner trim boards and cut one about 2 foot too short. So the job was not completed. It took him a week to drop off another trim board so I could stain it, and we are still waiting (3 weeks) for the job to be finished. I'm sure it will look great when it's done, but for now, we have a very ugly looking side to a potentially beautiful window. I realize this is a minor detail, but in my opinion, the company should have put the completion of one job at the top of the list before more were started. I called the installer and made a point of saying I was not going to pay for the window till it was complete so I would appreciate it being done very soon, as I was sure the billing cycle would be starting anytime. Don't get me wrong, I love my windows, they are beautiful, but I just don't think the company or installer handled the situation in a very timely manner. He is very nice, a hard worker and does great work, but I feel the whole thing could have been handled better. The trim board was put up and looks great, but a few other things still needed to be done beofre we could call the job finished. On September 21, the window was finally completed. The last tiny piece was put in place. All in all, the window is just what we wanted, looks great and I'm sure it will last, but the length of time it took to get to this point was a little beyond what we would have hoped.

CHome Town Restyling
The quality of the physical products is very high. But let me be clear - I hired these guys because they appeared to be the least incompetent, not because they were the best. The first time they were scheduled to be at my house, they contacted me half an hour after I expected them to be there to tell me weather wouldn't allow installation. I had to harangue them to provide me with 24hr prior notice of the time they'd appear. Installation was not complete, service was lousy. I'm still fighting to get all my warranty info and to get screen door installed. There is NO consideration for the fact that I'm the customer or that I work for a living (how do you think I'm going to pay for these overpriced windows?). There is ZERO effort put into communications with customer. Every time something needs to be done, my schedule is secondary (at best). I found their salesman to be unprofessional.

DO NOT GIVE THESE CROOKS YOUR MONEY!!! My parents chose to use this company to re-side and replace windows for their home. BIGGEST REGRET THEY HAVE EVER HAD!!! Tim Acri one of the owners and Joe (the sales man) came out the last night of our ordeal with these people to request final payment and pick up the doors which are mentioned below that were not ordered correctly by ACRI and had to be replaced by us. Tim was extremely rude the entire time while he was there. When Joe (the sales man) mentioned that we didn't get the columns for the porch that he ordered, my mother asked what they were going to do about it, Tim's smart aleck remark to her was throwing his hands in the air and saying "What the **** do you want me to do about it?" she said I know what I want to tell you & that is shove the it up your A** buddy!!! Also my father brought up the doors that were installed which he had to replace himself, he asked if they normally use shingles/shims to set them. Tim replied yes. My father knowing they had not used them as he had to replace the doors said "Well they sure didn't use them on these doors." This lead to yet another smart aleck remark from Tim: "Well I guess it is a good thing you took them out yourself then, huh?. I can not believe these people can stay in business if this is how they always do business. 1.) Entry doors were not acceptable as the jamb widths were not ordered to match the wall widths(this is a nearly 100 year old home which they knew and supposedly had measured for) and the color of the jamb on the inside did not match the wood grain on the inside of the doors. Instead it was white - Received money back for doors, however we then had to remove and replace them and the trim ourselves. 2.) The porch columns were quoted to be aluminum columns capable of holding up the porch roof by themselves. However what was installed was wooden posts wrapped with a snap together aluminum cover. Which they did not inform us of and we discovered on our own. After much fighting with these clowns over this they did give a $1,000 deduction, yet we still did not get what was to be ordered/quoted/promissed and will have to order our own and install them ourselves. 3.) The kitchen window was to be a new constructions window with the jamb width to match the wall width not a replacement pocket window. Not the case, and when the window they used was smaller in size than what was taken out, they attempted to fill it in, however chose not to use drywall to fix above the window. Instead they filled it in with OSB board and did not insulate at all. 4.) The rotten window sills which were to be replaced were not replaced, instead they just wrapped them to cover them up thinking we would not check. 5.) Exterior light fixtures are wobbly, they had just screwed into the plastic cover not the box in the wall as they should have been. 6.) Freeze board which was ordered and we were charged for would not work correctly so was not used. We purchased and furnished 2" x 12" boards which were used instead. The price of the original freeze board should have been deducted from the bill as it should not have been advised to be use. However they took the boards which we paid for and refused to deduct anything from the bill for a product we did not receive/use in the end. 7.) There are multiple large dents in the aluminum wrap of the porch header. 8.) The porch railing which was provided is not of good quality for what was paid, just like the posts/collumns on the porch I am sure that we did not get what we actually paid for. We could have gone to Menards or else where and purchased the same stuff for a very small fraction of the cost. 9.) We were also quoted and promised railing for both sets of outdoor stairs. Nothing was installed on either one. We had to purchased these on our own and install ourselves. 10.) Nearly every window frame was chipped and scratched on the inside of the home from drilling when the windows were installed.

I have had problems with the windows and they have never gotten back to me, but I haven't pursued it. I called them and they answered a question but I'm not real keen on windows. I got them off of Angie's List. Their pricing was good.
