Reviews in Ames to Remove Fuel Tank

ATodd J White Plumbing Inc
Had an existing septic system where the lateral/sand pit was bad but the tank was good.   Todd installed peat moss tank versus a sand pit.  Couldn't use a regular lateral line tile due to clay soil.  Punctual.  Friendly.  Explained all options clearly.

AH & H Plumbing Inc.
I called a number of plumbing companies large and small. H&H was the only large provider where I actually was able to speak with the owner regarding my needs!! I did check around for prices with other companies, but H&H offered me the best price AND the best time frame to install the unit (basically the next day!) Plus they were very knowledgeable, helpful and upfront with me about the costs and benefits of both 50 gal tanks and 75 gal tanks. After contracting for service, the company told me what time to expect the technicians the next day. They were kind enough to call that evening to let me know that they would need to pick up the new unit from a different warehouse and that they therefore would be coming about an hour later than planned. The two technicians, Rhonda and Josh, arrived exactly at the new time set the night before. They were very courteous and polite throughout the entire process. My old hot water heater had sprung a bad leak so I had shut down the water and vacuumed off the floor what I thought was the contents of the tank. Unfortunately, the H&H technicians discovered that there was still 20 - 30 gallons left in the tank. Without comment or complaint, they promptly went about draining the tank - no easy task since the drain valve had rusted shut sometime in the 1980s. After some improvisation, the tank was ultimately drained. After calling for extra help and a heavy duty dolly, the old tank was removed. I had no idea that that would be the hardest part of the process. The new tank was brought in, a new shut off value added to my plumbing line (at no cost), the tank correctly plumbed and vented, tied into the existing gas line and ready to go all in about an hour. The crew cleaned up the debris and rusted parts from the old tank, made sure there were no leaks in the new plumbing, and verified that the tank was running through its proper heating cycle. Another 10 - 15 minutes of filling our paperwork and the crew departed for the next job. All-in-all a great experience. I will definitely use them again for any of my plumbing needs! I recommend Chris and his entire team!

ADDS PLUMBING
Scott was the employee that came out and provided the service. He had great manners and was very polite. He was able to use parts that I already had. This business is five generation of plumbers and Scott has been around this type of work since he was a kid. I picked this company because they were close to my home and I couldnt have asked for a better experience. I would highly recommend to other members.

Holt disassembled the toilet, discovered a bad main seal between the tank and the bowl. Replaced it, cleaned up, etc. Went well, we were very pleased.

Plumber arrived on time and diagnosed the issue. Though the the part only cost $12.00 the price was fair due to the service call.

Discovered the leak Sunday morning with a big wet stain on the kitchen ceiling.  The upstairs toilet (it had been leaking for sometime and did not know it). I shut off the water supply and mopped up the water.   I called DDS Plumbing first thing on Monday morning and they sent some one out to the house the same day at a time that was convenient for  me to leave work.  I showed him the toilet and my concern that the seal might be bad as that was where the water was coming from.  He took the lid of the tank and also looked over the bottom of the toilet.  He found the problem right away and had me come up to see the problem.  I told him to go ahead and fix it which took him less than a 1/2 hour.  He then showed me the rusted and corroded pieces that he replaced and showed me the fixes.  Showing the customer the broken pieces is a nice step by the plumber which builds trust.  I had used DDS Plumbing before for a slow water output from a kitchen sink and it was refreshing to see that they are just as great the 2nd time (not just the 1st time make a good impression).  They are truly a company provides the best quality, low  cost service EVERY time.  I will continue to use them and have given their name and phone number to my family members and friends. DDS Plumbing - thank you for your excellent service.

ABOB'S SEWEROOTER SERVICE
Sewage backed up from the basement floor drain. I called and arranged an appointment. The two man crew arrived at the scheduled time. They opened the floor clean out and used two different methods (a rotating snake and a pressure flush) to clear the sludge which was blocking the drain between the house and the septic tank. One of the access covers to the septic tank was opened, to observe that the method of clearing the drain had worked. They cleaned up after themselves. Afterward I turned on multiple faucets and the drain worked fine. I have had trouble several times before with this drain and Bob's crew appeared to me to do a more thorough and effective job than what I have seen done by other companies. I will use Bob's again.

It took time, but the job was done well. A trainee did the work while the more experienced plumber directed. They used parts I had purchased but was unable to install because of tight bolts in difficult places. They also used a $25 coupon given to me at their last visit, and left me with another. They cleaned up after themselves, too.
