Kirkland's Flooring
Recent Review: Kirkland's prices out-competed any other company's that we looked at when comparing quality of carpet and pad. The sales rep that we worked with mostly was professional and knowledgeable. When he didn't know, he asked. The carpet was installed within a week or so of ordering and done within about 6 hours. Three men came to the house (at least one smoked - outside, but the smell was still on his clothes). They were not terribly professional in appearance, but were respectful and seemed experienced. One of the installers in particular was very willing to answer any questions I had and let me watch the progress at any point. After the original carpet was removed, they swept the floor, but not very well. Dirt was still on the subfloor and dirt and other objects were still between the tack strips and the walls. I took a vacuum to clean these areas and the floor after they'd swept. I didn't mind doing this, but felt this minimal cleaning should have been done by the installers in preparation for the new carpet. The installation went well with two exceptions. First, not all of the pad pieces were entirely removed, which is evident when I walk on the carpet on those areas. Second, part of the pad had a hard chunk of material in it, which is also evident when walked on - it's a hard spot. I have only one complaint about the completed, installed carpet. In one bedroom, behind the door, the carpet was cut slightly too short, so it does not fit under the baseboard. Not a huge deal because of the location - I'm just relieved the mistake wasn't in a more visible location. I plan on calling them back to re-stretch one area of the carpet in the hallway and fix one seam that is visible, but I don't anticipate any problems with the call-back. Would consider using this company again if the price was right.
