Business Description: Joy of St. Croix has an internal structure unique to art galleries and studios: while consisting of just the owner, an office manager and a field manager, we support and coordinate roughly 10 artists and craftsmen. For example, we commision some jewelry to our specifications but allow the individual artists freedom of design. Likewise, the safety tubs are installed by a crew whom we reccommend, but the use of the crew is not obligatory to the purchase of the tub. We accept credit card and PayPal and are currently working on obtaining a finance company for our clients.

Recent Review: The project went exceptionally well.  Although quite expensive, I went into the project knowing that I was looking at top-end materials for my shower replacement.  The installation was completed on time and the results look great!

Recent Review: Mr. Starling first visited our house a few weeks before the work started. He understood what we wanted, and made some detail suggestions to improve the ideas. His quote was more than reasonable, and he came with good references, so we committed to his company fairly quickly. Mr. Starling did not purchase the materials for us, but did provide us a complete list of materials needed for the job, including the amounts of tile required for the various aspects of the job. His numbers proved to be quite accurate; there was about a box of each color tile we used left, and very little of the accent and trim pieces, just as one might hope. Due to a cancelation in his schedule, the work started sooner than we expected, really. He had access to our house during the day, which, while somewhat complicated, went without incident. Everything was done on schedule, the demo on the first day, the reframing of the shower area and initial plumbing work the second day, the drywall and backer board work in and around the shower the third day, touchup to be completely ready for tiling on the fourth day, the laying of tile on the fifth day, and so forth. Any delays were not of his doing. The biggest delay was due to someone closely involved with the composition of this review making a mistake with the initial tile order, requiring an emergency purchase of more materials, which took time to arrive. It has been two months since the work was done, and we are still quite satisfied with the work that was done. We might have done one thing differently, but that had nothing to do with Mr. Starling and his excellent team.

Recent Review: This is a family business (Alan is the contractor with his son-in-law Larry as his most able assistant).  Dependable and trustworthy.  We had no reservations with them working while we were not home- a key reason why we hired them again for the kitchen counters and are on their calendar for another project! We appreciated their flexibility as we developed the plan since this was a total remodel.  Alan and Larry showed up ready to work and wasted no time tearing up the bathroom.  We decided at the last minute to remove the jetted tub and expand the shower.  Alan helped us come up with the plan to use the remaining space to put in a makeup vanity.   Alan also suggested putting in a pocket door which eased the entry into the bathroom while removing a poorly designed door.  The tile floor and shower are exceptionally beautiful.  Alan and Larry are superb tile layers and shower builders.  The transition from the shower to the tile floor is seamless.  Alan was able to install the rain shower head despite the high ceilings in the bathroom.  He was also willing to customize the shower to our specifications, including adding an additional niche.   Alan and Larry went the extra mile to provide us the highest quality product.  After tearing up the original tile, they discovered that the builder had cut corners on the sub-flooring.  Larry installed new sub-flooring.  The also found that the walls required additional insulation which they gladly remedied.  After the cabinet builder installed the new cabinets, Larry came back to touch-up the paint. No home renovation plan stays on schedule as planned, but the shipping delay for the drain floor was not their fault.  We also had to get fit into the granite company's busy schedule.  Alan always found a way to keep the project moving forward. We miss having them around and look forward to seeing them again for our next project.

Recent Review: Mr. Keel and his team of workers at Dynamic Finishings are excellent and very professional. Mr. Keel came out to assess job and was able to give me an estimate in 1 day. The price was reasonable compared to other estimates, I had a range in estimates between 7500.00 and 15000.00. Also, he will listen to your ideas and make suggestions that will work better for the job at hand and will make the end product look amazing. He gave me a time frame of 15 working days for completion of remodeling and was done in 10 working days. The remodel included: replacing a 3-piece fiberglass tub with a curved tub and floating barn door sliding glass doors, replacing vanity and sink, replacing bathroom fixtures, replacing lighting, tiling from ceiling to floor all around the bathroom to include tub area and fixing ceiling with a smooth finish. His crew are the most professional and respectful I have ever met. They were punctual, worked full days and made sure everything was clean before they left every day. When they started the demolition, they put up a plastic partition, from ceiling to floor, to close off bathroom area from bedroom and had a vacuum running to trap dust, which was a blessing, because I would come home from work and not have to worry about cleaning before going to bed. Mr. Keel was always available for questions or comments and would come frequently to make sure job was going according to plan. His team fulfilled and surpassed my expectations for the remodel. I’m in love with my bathroom. I will recommend Mr. Keel and Dynamic Fininshings with the utmost confidence that they will do an outstanding job. I have attached before and after pictures of the bathroom and I think we can agree that it turn out amazing. Update: It has been 15 days since job was done and I got in touch with Mr. Keel about one of the sliding doors being difficult to open and he had someone come out and fix it the following day. We had already concluded our contract and he still made sure that everything was taken care of. Very impressed with his professionalism.

Recent Review: Plumbers did quality work and were quick, but I always felt like I was being pushed for more services. I am happy with the price I paid for the drainage pipe, but I had to negotiate for it. My original option was to pay 3600 for them to not have to dig up the front yard, but this option became unavailable based on how the city had the sewer tap laid out. However, this was not explained to me. I had to remind the plumber that we discussed a 2400 price for them to dig up my yard, which was the service they ended up performing, Had I not noticed, I would have been overcharged by 1200! They performed some other estimates on the house. Replacing both our showers with new pans and fiberglass enclosure was quoted at 6600, which when I  objected the price, was lowered to 3500 by saying they would use subpar materials...just by asking. That kind of negotiating doesn't give me a lot of trust in their business practices, but other plumbers said the 3500 sounded fair. They also quoted 3000 to replace and reroute pipes under our laundry room as they didn't drain into the sewer drain, but we had someone else do it for 650. overall they are very quick, and I would call them for an emergency clog, but otherwise I'd look elsewhere based on price/negotiation. yet, the plumber sent to our house performed high quality work

We LOVE our new bathroom and were very pleased with the quality of Allen's work. Numerous individuals have seen the work Allen did in our home and have been very complimentary of his work, as well. He was instrumental in the design of our new bathroom, making practical and aesthetically pleasing suggestions to best meet our needs. We found him to be very attentive to any questions or concerns that we had along the way. He was always pleasant, courteous, and professional. We had to be away from home for several days while the work was taking place, but had no reservations about allowing Allen to continue working in our home during our absence. He is honest, trustworthy, and stands behind his work. He is willing to "go the extra mile" to make sure that his customers are happy for the long haul. Allen was a pleasure to work with, and we would have no reservations about contracting with him again in the future.
