We had a tornado that came through and an oak tree fell on my home. The insurance company paid to have a new roof put on and an 11X13 room that had to be completely torn off and rebuilt. Dewayne installed new steel panel roofing on and didnt put furring strips down first. So when he would screw the roof panels on, the screws would go directly into the wood and sometimes in a gap between the wood. Sometimes there would be 4 screws in one place, before he could find the wood to screw into. On the room that needed rebuilt, the interior doors that were re-hung would not close. Sometimes they do close but then I can hardly get them open. One has even busted from the force it takes to open and close. When they originally tried to re-install the doors, they actually stripped the screws completely out. So I cant even back the screws out to replace them. He only installed one support accoss the room and so I am having a problem with the room giving and there are tiles on the floor that are busting and cracking because of the movement. When he first started the job, he never brought me a contract or anything at all. I kept asking him all through the process for an estimate. We had originally agreed upon $33,000, then I added some things and the cost went up to $41,000. But then the final bill was $46,000. This work took all summer long to complete the job. There was a 2 week period that he didnt even show up at all. Then about every day through the summer he would leave around noon and call it a day. I am now having to take legal action against him. Because I will either have to fix this myself or pay someone to fix his botched job. I wouldn't recommend anyone having him to work on their home at all.
