Recent Review: the door was replaced first. he removed the old frame and door and replaced it with a fire rated door and frame. since he was busy during the week he did this on a saturday with no extra charge for weekend work. the door was plumbed correctly and operates flawlessly. the vent fan was tricky because i have no flooring in the attic where the fan was located.that went well also. the fane was tricky because it had heat, fan and a light but he did everything correctly and works great.

Recent Review: Glenn Ray at Ray's Home Improvement is a very nice and easy to work with gentleman. His work was done soon after I made the call. He knew exactly what needed to be done on the phone initially with very little explanation of the problem making the experience easier. He came on time around my work schedule, was professional, and the workmanship was, in my humble opinion, very well done. I will definitely use him again for any of the services he provides.

Recent Review: Steve has done this type of work for me for several years. He keeps me up to date on the condition of two rental units and performs repairs throughout the year as needed. Always very timely and reliable. Good quality work, for a bargain.

Recent Review: This is a family business (Alan is the contractor with his son-in-law Larry as his most able assistant).  Dependable and trustworthy.  We had no reservations with them working while we were not home- a key reason why we hired them again for the kitchen counters and are on their calendar for another project! We appreciated their flexibility as we developed the plan since this was a total remodel.  Alan and Larry showed up ready to work and wasted no time tearing up the bathroom.  We decided at the last minute to remove the jetted tub and expand the shower.  Alan helped us come up with the plan to use the remaining space to put in a makeup vanity.   Alan also suggested putting in a pocket door which eased the entry into the bathroom while removing a poorly designed door.  The tile floor and shower are exceptionally beautiful.  Alan and Larry are superb tile layers and shower builders.  The transition from the shower to the tile floor is seamless.  Alan was able to install the rain shower head despite the high ceilings in the bathroom.  He was also willing to customize the shower to our specifications, including adding an additional niche.   Alan and Larry went the extra mile to provide us the highest quality product.  After tearing up the original tile, they discovered that the builder had cut corners on the sub-flooring.  Larry installed new sub-flooring.  The also found that the walls required additional insulation which they gladly remedied.  After the cabinet builder installed the new cabinets, Larry came back to touch-up the paint. No home renovation plan stays on schedule as planned, but the shipping delay for the drain floor was not their fault.  We also had to get fit into the granite company's busy schedule.  Alan always found a way to keep the project moving forward. We miss having them around and look forward to seeing them again for our next project.

He has such a fine reputation and he does lots of good work in this area. I have seen some of the homes that he has done; it was beautifully done, very professional and very well made. Recent Review: David is a great guy. He always responds promptly (even when sometimes visiting family in Canada), arrives on time, works diligently, communicates well, and is nice to my kids.  He often gets supplies that we don't have time to get before a job.  When my toddler escaped his crib and would not stay in his room after our second child was born, David came right away to fix our "door emergency."  When remodeling our master and half-baths, he and his wife worked as a team to help design the new bath and stay within our budget.  Several of our friends also recommend David.  One uses his services to help maintain their rental houses.  He is our go-to guy for all the things that go wrong on our house.  We trust him enough to let him work while we are away.

FRH Builders
I called this builder and got his voicemail.  After several days, Russell left me a message.  After playing phone tag several times, I talked with him on the phone.  He was very busy and asked could he call back the following week.  I agreed and then waited several weeks before calling him back.  His excuse was that he ruined his phone, which had all his email and contact information stored on it.  He agreed to come do an estimate on Friday, October 16.  He did not show up nor call that day.  On Saturday, October 17, he called my husband and apologized, saying he just got too busy.   He showed up and began making all kinds of suggestions: a pocket door, a poured shower basin, etc.  Then we showed him the back steps where we wanted a simple hand rail installed.  He then began a long spiel about how he could install a wheelchair ramp and that he had just the right one at his house he could use there.  This man talked ad nauseum about the ramp, which we really had little interest in.   He could not give us an estimate that day but said he would get back in contact with us.  Today is October 23 and we have yet to hear from him.  As far as we are concerned, he has lost our business.  I can only foresee a nightmare remodeling project with someone who is so unprofessional at the onset. We have hired another contractor and the whole first-time meeting and estimate process was painless and stress free, which we needed after meeting with this contractor.

We LOVE our new bathroom and were very pleased with the quality of Allen's work. Numerous individuals have seen the work Allen did in our home and have been very complimentary of his work, as well. He was instrumental in the design of our new bathroom, making practical and aesthetically pleasing suggestions to best meet our needs. We found him to be very attentive to any questions or concerns that we had along the way. He was always pleasant, courteous, and professional. We had to be away from home for several days while the work was taking place, but had no reservations about allowing Allen to continue working in our home during our absence. He is honest, trustworthy, and stands behind his work. He is willing to "go the extra mile" to make sure that his customers are happy for the long haul. Allen was a pleasure to work with, and we would have no reservations about contracting with him again in the future.

AHobbs Painting
Billy and his son usually come out together from Hobbs Painting Company. They are basically painters. They are simple people. They may not seem to be professional as far as their outfit and outlook goes but their work sure is professional. Billy is a perfectionist. He has worked for a lot of people in the industrial area. He is very honest. He is just an excellent painter. His paint lasts longer than other painters I have used in the past. His work has last for us for eight years. He just had to do some touch up on the moldings once during that time. His prices may be a little bit higher than the others. However, it seems to be cheap considering how long his work lasts. His work is the most cost efficient. I would continue to use Hobbs Painting Company in the future.
