Recent Review: We had an excellent experience with ESOG, which built new basement retaining walls and waterproofed our basement. After spending a lot of time researching solutions and interviewing several companies, I went with ESOG because 1) the detailed construction plan was vetted by a certified in-house engineer complete with the all-important “PE” stamp and 2) the price was competitive. When the engineer determined during the final pre-construction inspection that additional structural work would be required to ensure structural integrity, ESOG did not charge more money for the additional work. All of the staff, from the salesman to the engineer to the work crews, were courteous and professional and delivered what they promised.

ALar Con Construction Inc
On November 18, we had an unfortunate mishap at my house. Someone crashed through my garage door, hitting my parked car and slamming it into my load-bearing bathroom wall. My car was trapped in the garage and there was cold air leaking into the bathroom. I will first start by praising God nobody was hurt. And now I will express my appreciation for Lar-Con Construction. Mr. Rowland and his crew were professional and courteous. The excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail given to this project were phenomenal as well as the timeliness in getting the project done. Lar-Con was there on Thanksgiving Week to start the project. The crew showed up when they said they would - every time. They made sure floors and walls were protected while they did their work and cleaned up every day before they left. Mr. Rowland kept in contact with me on this project and was always available whenever I had questions. My new garage door works better than ever. The wall looks like there was never any damage and the bathroom looks wonderful, even better than the original. I would hire Lar-Con Construction again in a heartbeat. This company is now the official builder of my household.

ACummings Cement Finishing
They have done such a great job I have hired them to do additional work for myself and my mothers. Allen arrived on time. He is great with bricks and reclaimed bricks. I am extremely happy with the service and he is a very talented mason.

FTonys Landscaping
Gave him $2640.00 for materials May 27, 2017 and it is now 14 Nov. 2017 and still no wall. Sent him a certified letter at the address on his business card and it came back unknown . Had to file a criminal complaint with Towns Co. Sheriff's dept. in GA. and civil papers in Clay County, NC. Very little hope of getting my money back. Have had to hire someone else to build the wall.

APK Masonry
Went great.  Absolutely no problems.  Out of five contractors called, one of three that responded, and one of two that was able to take on the task.

DPAUL DAVIS RESTORATION
After our home flooded in August, our insurance company hired Paul Davis Restoration to come in and restore our home. We are very young had never had a home owners claim before and trusted our insurance company would only send the best to complete a job well done. Sadly, we were mistaken. Although Paul Davis' workers were friendly, friendly didn't complete the tasks. You never knew who was coming or going or even when they were going to come and go. No one ever showed up on time and half the crew would just up and leave without notice leaving you wondering why your home was suddenly so quiet. We had several issues with work either not being completed or not being done right. There were a lot of cut corners. Their team was ridiculously short staffed leaving whoever was left at the end of the morning pick to just pick up where another worker left off. The drywall guys were painting, floor guys texturing, trim guys having to  do cabinet work.. etc. (not in that exact order but you get the drift). Then there were some days no one showed at all, or they would send just one person to do a 2-3 man job. The company is very disorganized. There was A LOT of mis-communication, unanswered phone calls, and broken promises. What should have taken no more than 2 weeks took around 6. As soon as they cashed their check from the ins company and got our deductible we never heard from the company again... its been more than 8 months and we still have unfinished work we are forced to just live with. We gave up trying to contact them. After going over a stack of paperwork from the ins company showing the figures they were charged for the work, my husband and I were blown away. A job that should have cost no more than 10,000.00 ran my insurance company more than 20,000.00. I pray we never have to go through that again but for future reference we know now to find our own contractors and have the work 100% satisfactory before we sign over a single penny.

This job went poorly from the start. It did not start when planned. I never got a formal contract and that was my error. We had days when workers did not show up at all and some days with only one worker. The owner, Jared Dean, only popped in for short periods and was not there to supervise the workers. There were changes in the original plan every day when we came home from work. By this time the project was half done, we had over $10,000 invested, the yard was looked like a bomb had gone off and truthfully, we felt held hostage by the situation and did not know what to do but try to humor the contractor and pray. After 2 months of work during the severe drought in the fall of 2016, the job was pronounced overbudget and "done". We had damage to the house from heavy equipment, damage to our trees which he promised to work around cable lines cut and cut again, utilities that he said were marked but turned out to be in a most inconvenient middle of the larger wall that he had to work around, He promised repeatedly that he would come back when it finally rained to fix any problems and he did once but bigger and bigger problems surfaced and POOF, he was not taking calls. I have deadman beams that are not covered with earth or gravel, the wall is crooked and shifting, the parking was not where it was supposed to be and way larger than requested. It is what it is. Don't make the same mistake I did. Get a contract. Insist on paying with a credit card that will back you up. And don't use Jared Dean of Ace Grading

AWilson Bros Landscape
Perfect! The project manager, Donnie Brooks, and the various crews were extremely knowledgeable, professional, responsive, and friendly. We saved for a long time to be able to do this major landscape project, and I can't say enough about how happy we are. The project had some demanding aspects to it, but Donnie and his crews were able to address them without any problems. From Donnie's plan to the execution of the plan, the project was of the highest quality, and the results are absolutely beautiful! A+++ all around!
