NGE heating and air conditioning
Recent Review: The air conditioner was not blowing cold air and I did not know when the last repair had been done so I called for someone to come and diagnose the problem. The technician arrived on time. He was courteous, polite and professional. He gave me a full explanation of the problem and the cost before he completed any work. He had all of the parts he needed with him and was able to complete the work without any delays.

From start it appeared as though that all things were working with the A/C so the company was paid in full for all their service and equipment. Upon further review of the work the owner identified an issue in one of the rooms in the house and called for the company to fix the issue. The company said they would return to fix the problem but once they didn't arrive on the agreed date at the agreed time the owner called to asked why they hadn't heard from the company. The representative who answered the company's phone was rude, hung up the phone, and rather than complete the job to a quality standard told the owner to hire someone else to fix the problem. Totally regret calling this company. Not professionals in my opinion.

Fantastic experience. Was quoted over $4,000 from 2 different companies who said I needed to fully replace one of my AC units, John and his team did diagnostics, which no other company did, and were able to fix the problem for a small fraction of those previous lazy quotes...John even sat on the phone with me with my warranty company to get them to pay for the repairs even AFTER I told him that I would pay them out-of-pocket regardless of what the warranty company said!  Very friendly, fast, and fair....would recommend to anyone.

After reading the reviews and being referred by a family friend, I contacted Alto Heating and Air due to my central A/C not cooling. I spoke to Jerry on Thursday morning and he said he would be out that afternoon. He called me around lunch and said the job he was on had ran into some issues and he wouldn't be able to make it that afternoon and asked if Friday was okay. I told him that was fine but it would need to be after 1200 due to my sons kindergarten graduation. He said no problem. I called him back around 4 Friday afternoon because he had not shown up and got no answer. I have yet to hear from anyone at Alto even after several attempts and several messages left.

Let me start by saying that I am the third or fourth owner of my house, and that the Central AC is original to my 20+ year old home. I have a home warranty through Old Republic Home Protection. My AC has stopped working a few times since I purchased my home last year. Each time I have had to have J R Enterprises out, Chad (the Technician they sent each time) has been very professional and prompt. He calls before arriving at the house, and is very knowledgeable. He has been quick to diagnose my problem, and fix it. He has even had the necessary part on his truck every time (not hard since the parts going bad have been small, either electrical switch or the thermostat and a sensor). Chad is courteous and takes care not to track dirt or anything into the house. If I had to call someone out on my own, I would call J R Enterprises myself. The $60 was a service trade fee imposed by my home warranty company.

CEmpire Heating & Air Conditioning
Called Wednesday to try to get someone out then to repair A/C not working at all, but  Empire was unable to get anyone out that day, so we were told Thursday between 12 and 4. Around 3:30 they had still not arrived, so I called and was told it would be 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Around 5:30 the weather had gotten bad with thunderstorms, so the technician decided not to go, and we were bumped to first thing Friday morning. When I talked to Empire on Thursday afternoon, I requested that because my wife was at work and needed to not be involved in trying to work things out, to please make me the contact, and I gave my phone number. However, my wife called me from work early this morning to say that Empire had continued to call her, apparently ignoring my request. I called and asked to speak to someone about the situation because I didn't feel I would be able to give them a high rating like the previous three A ratings I had given with very positive comments. The owner, Martin Hoover, called me several hours later. After listening to me, he asked what could be done to help out. I replied that some type of discount on the bill would be greatly appreciated. He replied that he wouldn't do that because he felt Empire had done everything they should in a timely and responsive way. The technician was not there long, having found corroded batteries in the thermostat. The corrosion could have been cleaned out with soda water or vinegar and fresh batteries installed, and everything would have been fine, but he elected to replace a perfectly good thermostat with a new $178 one. And I'm still trying to figure out how thunder and rain kept him from fulfilling Empire's time commitment. The economy is still bad, and everyone is trying to survive these days, but I won't be able to partner with Empire again because they have apparently forgotten how important dedicated and satisfied long-term customers are.
