Recent Review: I could not ask for more from a building professional. Showed up when he stated, communicated very well, gave many recommendations and options for me to choose from, never rushed me when making decisions, started the work immediately after agreeing on what needed to be done and the price, very friendly and respectful of my family (worked around my young children's schedule), family owned local business, he does all work himself (plumbing, electrical, construction, painting, etc.) so I only needed to contact and deal with one person, he cleaned up after himself, he kept to his estimated time to complete the job, and I am very happy with his work and plan to use him again.

Recent Review: It was messy but that is to be expected when working on sheet-rock and carpentry. The work itself turned out very well. The job was to enlarge two closets, repair wood and sheet-rock, install two large doors with mirrors, casing, and paint. Good carpentry work; we had a couple of problems but he immediately asked what we thought and did not try to cover or hide the imperfection. Mr Tolbert was willing to redo a part that was not perfect - his suggestion. That, perhaps, is the most important quality: if something is not right, he will tell you, discuss ways to improve, and redo if necessary. He brought a helper to paint two rooms and the helper too was very professional. I would definitely hire him again to do carpentry, painting and other handyman work. My only 4 star instead of 5 was because it took him a while to get back to me with an estimate and a possible start day - that could be because he is overwhelmed with work. We had expected 4 days of work: 1 per closet, and 1 per painted room. He finished in 3 days (once he got a helper it went faster).

He came by, gave me an estimate, I called to schedule work in early December. He was going to call me with a work date.. In early January I called him and played phone tag for several days. He called the third week in January told me to be patient, he would call me back in a week. This is the second week in March. I have not heard from him since January. I CALLED ONCE AGAIN, LEFT A MESSAGE ,THEN TEXTED HIM.  He did not respond to either. I finally hired someone else, not on Angie's list and have been very satisfied.
