EDMISTEN HEATING & COOLING
Recent Review: Super! It was a very challenging installation, over 5 days, with tight crawl space and limited access points. The Edmisten team did a super job. Special thanks to David Shore for spec'ing, pricing and planning the job and to Gio and his team for the installation. Great guys and they have my highest recommendation. I will certainly use them for any future HVAC service needs.

Moncrief Heating & Air Conditioning
Recent Review: Received a quote used by my insurance company to repair a flooded part of our system (due to a washer overflow that entered a floor vent.) The service men arrived on time, worked through the day, did exactly what they said they'd do plus made a minor repair on our dryer vent connection that was not detected until the ceiling was opened. They showed me the repairs when finished, cleaned up thoroughly, and hauled off the old material. I've used them before and would do so again!

Scott Walker Heating and Air
Recent Review: After a complete assessment of my 13 year old outside broken air conditioner unit, (furnace, and duct work located in crawl space) under house, I asked for a quotation for repairs and new replacement with several levels of Seer rating.  Scott took the time to show me his observations in detail, explain the options, and benefits of each choice, along with expected utility savings.  I was somewhat surprised at the total cost for the high end system, but it was not too far out of what I could find on the internet. ( It was rather difficult to get competitive cost information without multiple quotes).  The fact that I wanted the best filtration system available ($1500 extra) plus major duct work modifications were necessary to get two zones (with dual thermostats) added to costs.  I also got the best available control systems with internet features, and the two zone thermostats synchronize with each other.  I am very pleased with the planning, scheduling, installation, and follow up of Scott Walker Heating and Cooling.  Still waiting to get my first utility bill, which will take a year to fully realize accurate savings with the new system.  I have dealt with various types of contractors in industrial settings for over 30 years and I was very comfortable with the capabilities and performance of this contractor.

JF Maxwell Company Inc.
Recent Review: The work went well. They removed the vent covers to the ductwork throughout the house and cleaned inside the ducts using a powerful vacuum, same for the clothes dryer. They were thorough and worked fast. The clothes dryer is located in the garage. There was an existing problem with the ductwork from the dryer to the outside air. For an extra $75 they rebuilt the ductwork, replaced some pieces, and did an excellent job.

Atlanta Air Care

Recent Review: Atlanta Air Care not only did an excellent job installing a new HVAC system, but they all troubleshot the problems caused by a totally inept company which had installed ductwork last summer. The ductwork was installed, but much of it either incorrectly or it was the wrong size. In short, Atlanta Air Care excels at what they do!

Recent Review: Upstairs AC was 20 years old and basically dying. Honestly, I didn't call around too much because the weather was warming up and we needed it fixed ASAP. I feel the cost was probably average, didn't get the feeling it was excessive or cheap. The guy giving the estimate spoke with my wife and showed the changes in the ductwork on his ipad. We talked over the phone and he explained it to me but I wanted a visual of exactly what he was planning. I asked him twice to send me the plans but he never did. It sounded like an upsell but our son's room is right over the garage and has terrible air flow out of the vent so I thought it was reasonable enough to give it a try. They did include a $300 discount for the job so that helped. Also, I didn't feel he was trying to upsell us on the actual unit and he seemed reasonable to what we needed. The day of install was a slight issue but nothing major. We were the 2nd job scheduled and it was going to take half a day to install this. The first job was running behind and my wife was getting worried this was going to get cancelled but the guys finally called and said they were on their way. Had a couple of very nice guys, Steven and Chavez install the unit, condenser and change the ductwork. They were very professional, laid down the appropriate plastic on the floor and wore booties, didn't leave too much of a mess (hard not to track down insulation from the attic though) and finished the job in the evening without much of a break. I'll have to say, the difference between living in a house for 2 summers with a dying AC unit and getting it replaced truly was night and day. The unit worked all summer without a problem. As a nice surprise, the changes in the ductwork actually made a tremendous difference. Now our son's room and adjoining bathroom have probably 3-4x the amount of airflow as before.

C & R MECHANICAL SERVICE
Recent Review: Rick and his crew have always been punctual, courteous, and fair. They respond to phone calls right away and they provide high quality work. Rick always is honest about what is needed for our home... and if equipment is needed, he always explains our options. (He has never tried to sell us something we don't need.) He also calls us when a seasonal service is needed... We never have to remind him. We have recommended them to several of our friends.

RAINWATER HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING INC
Recent Review: Craig Rainwater came out and gave me an estimate that was less than the others I had received. However, the main reason I decided to go with Rainwater is because I felt that I could trust Craig. He did not try to sell me things I didn't need. For instance, I asked about a 5-ton unit, but he said I only needed a 4-ton unit. I also asked about including the first-year maintenance plan for free as other companies had included in their proposals; he said that I was buying a very good system and would not need to be on a maintenance plan for five years or so. His honesty was refreshing! My only complaint is that the Lennox rebate was not as much as I had expected.

Empire Heating & Air Conditioning
Award 2018Super Service Award
Recent Review: Our AC compressor died upon returning from a week away. We knew we would have to replace our system at some point because it was VERY old. We have a 2 story, true split level home and always had problems with regulating temperature in the summer and winter as the thermostat was located on the lower level. In replacing a system, we wanted this problem to go away.  Empire could have quoted other name brands however we went with the Amana system because it has a lifetime warranty on several parts to the original purchaser and 10 yr warranty that can be transferred to any subsequent homeowner. Empire threw in 3 yr labor and maintenance plan which is also transferrable. Empire was only company to quote a 3 ton system originally. When I questioned the sales guy on it he came back out and saw that he had missed 2 ducts. He changed to a 4 ton system with no price increase. I was very pleased with their service - on time, no hassle and seem to really know their stuff - from the sales process through the implementation. The install team raved about the zoning system and told me about the improvements that have been made in the technology in recent years. I talked with the install team on a daily basis and learned a lot about HVAC systems. They always were friendly and open to answering my questions about what was going on with the installation. As I am a detail oriented person and this was a large change to our home systems, I wanted to understand as much as possible. Our other option was to install 2 separate systems and after living with a zoned system for a few days I believe we made the right decision. We have worked with a lot of contractors to do various projects around the home. We have gone with the cheapest price and regretted it. We typically go with the middle of the road price but also who we feel will do what they say they're going to do, when they say they're going to do it and stand behind their work. Empire met all of these expectations. After the system was turned on the first time, I froze on both levels and am now in the process of finding the right temperature. Problems solved!
