Roxine's Paint Brush
Award 2018Super Service Award
Recent Review: Hired Roxine to paint front porch railings and posts, window trim, and porch concrete floor. Roxine and her crew showed up on time, did excellent work, and even had a few suggestions that saved me a little money. This is the third time we have used Roxine, and have had excellent results every time.

KR CONSTRUCTION
Recent Review: Kenny and one of his crew came after we called, listened to what we needed done, and made suggestions. He gave us a fair estimate of materials and labor. The crew performed the job as per our agreement in a timely fashion, excluding bad weather days, at the estimated price. The quality of their work was very good.

Webber Construction
Recent Review: This was the best experience I have ever had with contractors.  They did an excellent job, were very professional, and the cost was reasonable.  Imagine replacing a railing system on a bridge 50 feet in the air!  I can't say enough as to their quality of work, their dependability, and their professionalism.  I will definitely use them again for my next project and would highly recommend Webber Construction!

Edge Enterprises
Recent Review: There many complicated challenges that had to be resolved. The 1903 style southern antebellum home had rear walls that were not square as common to the period of original construction. Secondly, the contractor had to clean up and modify first contractors work due to homeowners desiring a Ballew's system and not a frame rear screened porch. Every problem encountered found contractor normally proposing two solutions from which we could choose. When a problem required expert advice, the contractor brought the Ballew's expert to the job site where it could be discussed and resolved. The roofing system we wanted is not common to our area. We had special architectural requests accommodated which some did not believe could be done. Mr. Edge, without an increase to bid, found a way to satisfy our requests. This job had design angles and was not a simple job. Total cost included materials. We used a modified Ballew's system and composite materials. Also, we added one door installation and a re-installation of a door done by a different contractor. We are extremely pleased.

Super Handy Husband
Recent Review: Wow. Can't say enough good about the Super Handy Husband. Well, I am married to the #1 Super un-handy hubby. We just bought a home that needed work, and we needed a handyman.  Mark has been great. The house looks amazing. He is fair and honest. And the work is quality. And he even cleans up after himself. He has another guy, Nick, now working with him. Nick is great with wiring. We had a wall re-done (a bigger issue than we all imagined, but you never know when you remove a wall what you will find!) Mark did a great job with making the wall safe and finished nicely. He even installed door locks (yep, we bought a home without working exterior door locks!). And I am sure one day the persimmon (pinkish orange) deck that he power washed and painted will grow on him ;)   He tried to convince us to take the nice shade of brown, which did look very good. And the lighter brown/green shade he picked was nice too.  But we wanted to make a bold statement with color in the backyard. And we LOVE the color!   **  We highly recommend Mark for handyman work and home remodel. He also has a great sense of color and style, and knows what looks good with the home.  This is a rare find in a handyman! Give Mark a call and you won't be disappointed.  ** EDIT ---- see above. I cant say enough GET ESTIMATES IN WRITING, AND GET A DETAILED RECEIPTS OF COST OF MATERIALS. DO NOT PAY UNTIL WORK IS COMPLETED PER WORK ORDER.  Mark started off doing great work, but in the end work quality/ethics just diminished. EDIT AGAIN !!! 5-8-2013  Gas company out checking the gas lines, check our water heater install by Mark. The  water heater failed inspection, the rubber house for water overflow was a safety hazard and could melt. The gas company says this is a  SAFETY HAZARD and needs replaced. So we are calling a real contractor to fix this issue correctly. We will not be calling Mark to fix the water tank he improperly installed.

Recent Review: I hired Jay to do some remodeling to my condo in Helen. He found that we had major water damage inside the walls which threatened the structural integrity of the building. I was not surprised as there were indications that there were problems. What started as some remodeling ended with the rebuilding of 1/3 of my condo. When I saw Jay at work I knew that I hired the right guy. He is knowledgeable, professional and more than competent. These qualities were obvious to the building inspector, the condo board and to me. He rebuilt half of my condo while keeping an eye on the bottom line. The quality and scope of work he did is amazing – especially at the price. He was even there to help with first aid when my granddaughter was stung by bees! If I need anything done in the future, Jay is my guy. Thank you, Angie’s List, for helping me find him. If you are remodeling an older building be mindful of surprises when the surface is scratched. Always hire the company that cares enough about their profession to maintain their license and insurance. If you can get Jay to do the work, you will not be disappointed.

Jack is a true professional. He returned my call quickly and we made an appointment to meet. He was on time and very courteous. He was able to get to the job within a day or two which was helpful since I am selling my home. He completed the job quickly since it was an easy task for him. Jack did a marvelous job and I am thrilled with the results. On top of it all, he is just a really nice guy! I highly recommend him to my friends and wouldn't hesitate to call him again.

FTurner's Contracting Solutions
Mr Turner came out to talk. He was to provide a quote for the work we had agreed to. He then charged me $35.00 for coming to give an estimate. I did know this up front. This should have been the first red flag. I paid the $35.00 and never received the quote. He said up front that he is around $35.00/sq/ft on a deck. this could have been a $10k contract. I heard back from him once. I asked for pictures of work he has done with different handrails. to this day he had not called me back. I emailed and asked for the $35.00 back. no reply. I had to start over looking for someone to do the work. They are almost done.

AB&S Construction
They did an excellent job with everything they did. They were always on time and always cleaned up after their selves. They were very courteous and kind. If we had something that came up or something we had to do they had no problem working around our schedule. I have had work done on my house before and I have never had any company that did as good a job as B&S Construction. I trusted them completely if I was gone from my house for a little while. They are really good workers and you can tell they enjoy what they do. And they are extremely talented at their work. And they have been in business for over 20 years. If anyone needs ANY kind of work done at their home or office or basically anywhere then I highly recommend that you use B&S Construction. I promise you will not be disappointed.

ADoug's Homeworks
Doug came out and gave me a free estimate for the job. He measured the deck and took pictures, and we discussed what would need to be done and what I wanted to be done. I explained about keeping any damage to my flowerbeds against the deck to a minimum. I also told him I wanted composite decking used and that I needed a handrail. Doug and his assistant came early every morning to work on the deck. They had all the tools needed to do the job. Once the decking was removed and we could see what needed to be replaced or repaired, they made quick work of putting in new posts, joists, cripple boards and such. They had to work around a trellis at one end of the deck and gas lines for an outdoor grill. Doug put a protective cover over an air duct to my crawlspace that hadn't been put in originally. Doug didn't just go to a local big box store to find the best price on composite decking, but searched himself and saved me some money by doing so. I'm very happy with the Timbertec he purchased for me and the great warranty that comes with it.Once the deck was safe and secure again, Doug tore out the old stairs and built new ones that would be easier to use and up to code. They put down the new decking, finished the stairs, added new vinyl lattice all around the outside of the deck and added a new handrail/bannister for me by the steps. Doug had purchased enough decking boards that he was able to also replace the steps on the front of my house, which were rotting and in need of repair. I'm very happy with the job DougHomeworks performed for me. Everyone was friendly, polite and accommodating. The price on the job was reasonable and the workmanship was very good. I will definitely use this company again in the future.
