Recent Review: I thought the price was high but since the homeowner's association did not accept a prebuilt aluminum shed, I went with this.  The estimate for the fence was a bit more than Lowe's and I did not get another estimate for the shed.  The fence looks very nice and there have been several drive-by people to inquire about it.  I did not watch every step of the installation but I hope they put cement in all the post holes as they said.  When pushed on, the fence has a lot of give but they assured me that was the nature of vinyl fences.  When they were finished with the fence, they had provided latches on the gates, but no handles.  They responded quickly to come and provide the handles on all the gates.  After that, the main walk gate was sagging and did not close without lifting it up. I called and they returned several days later to fix that. The storage shed also looks very nice and seems well built, however, I noticed as they started on it that they were putting the foundation directly on the ground.  I went out and commented that in my experience with past sheds they were on supports and up off the ground.  The builder called the boss and they raised the shed 6-8" off the ground on cinder blocks.  There were several days of rain after they had the flooring and frame up.  They covered half of the flooring and the materials on the lawn with a tarp.  The flooring and wall materials got very wet.  I swept the standing water off the floor.  The roof, vinyl siding, vents, etc. were all constructed in a timely manner.  As they were putting up the siding, I noticed that the flooring did not feel sturdy.  Upon looking the material up on line, it was sub-flooring. . . so I asked, "is that the final flooring, since it is described as sub-flooring and not as strong as plywood"?  At that point they said they would put a layer of plywood over.  I think they used a thin plywood. I should have specified thicker as the floor still does not feel as strong as I think it should.  After they said they were finished, there was a foot of bare wood along the bottom outside which looked unfinished to me.  I called and they said they would be glad to cover it with a baked enamel aluminum, which they put on the 3 sides that show.  Now it looks beautiful (for a storage shed).

Recent Review: This is the third trip here for a list of repairs or replacements and they NEVER dissapoint.  They are an absolute delight to work with. They take pride in everything they do and everything is accomplished with professionalism, expertise and in a timely fashion.  They show up on time or early, complete the projects within the time they say they'll be done and never complain if we add more to their list of things to do. Total Home Repair is nothing short of Stellar.  We've used them three times and will never call anyone else.  Their charges are more than fair and with them purchasing what they need, it saves me the time of trying to find and buy something I know nothing about. I don't think there's anything these two guys can't do. They DO EVERYTHING and do it perfectly. I see there are two Total Home Repair Company's listed with Angie's list.  The one we use and HIGHLY recommend is Brent McCurdy's Total Home Repair on Brown Bridge Road, Covington.

Recent Review: EXCELLENT!!!   "The Deck" - Hal did a great job on everything.  He took out our old deck and added a 45' x 30' deck off of our kitchen that goes 1/2 way around our above ground pool.  Some would say, it's just a deck but we know better.  This thing is AWESOME and has become the centerpiece of our home.  Hal added a 21'x24' roof over part of the deck which perfectly integrated with our existing roof and looks as if it were part of the original house.  But that's not all, Hal added what he calls the Florida treatment inside of the covered area, 2 fans, some electrical outlets, superb finishing work and wallah, our own paradise right outside our kitchen doors.  To simply say it looks great is an understatement.  The roof and decking is as solid as granite.  Hal used 6"x6"s on all the posts which makes it just scream class and stability.  To top off the deck Hal added world-class railings and framed in the lattice work underneath along with hinging the sides so we also now have more storage space than ever!!!  "The Fence" - Hal ripped out our old chain-link and wood fence then replaced it with a piece-by-piece built fence along with a 16' drive through gate and 2 large man-doors which are all super solid and extremely well built which was our requirement in this wind-tunnel we live in and to keep our 2 large-breed dogs in.  It's a fence, it looks great and works as planned.  But the review does not end there.  Since the fence was built we had a tree fall on it and a small tornado.  A large wild cherry tree fell squarely on the fence, the fence was soo solid that it literally held the tree up while only losing a few pickets. It saved our pool.  That's old world craftsmanship there!   Hal came back and had it fixed in under an hour. The tornado was a different story.       The tornado hit across the street and took out 30 large trees then jumped over the house and took out another 8 trees in both our neighbors yards. We did not even lose a fence picket.  Maybe it was a miracle but I think it was just good craftsmanship on Hal's part.  "The Porch" - Hall added 6' onto our existing front porch along with all new decking and rails which match our back deck.  It look great. "The Lean-to" - Hal added a 24'x12" lean-to onto our existing shed. It has a tin roof to match the shed and looks just as it it was supposed to be there. Very solid and very well-built.  It to survived the tornado which because of it's length off of the shed (12') really surprised me.  Again, that is really only due to solid craftsmanship. Overall, Hal is very meticulous and somewhat of a perfectionist. He is a 1 man show so it takes a little longer but the quality of work is well worth the wait. Hal was even very (EXTREMELY) patient, careful and friendly with our 2 large-breed St. Bernard/Great Pyrenees mix dogs.  They can be a handful at times but Hal was very understanding. So if you have pets just know that Hal will take care of them as if they were his own while he is working with you. YES, we would use Hal again and YES we highly recommend Hal to all of our friends and family. PS.. I have not figured out how to upload pics to this site but if you want to see pics of the work just email me at poolroommj@yahoo.com and I'll send some right over.  We don't mind sharing as we are very proud of our new additions to our home.

FJames Jordan BJ's Hauling and Construction
James Jordan took $1000 on 11/27 to start construction of my shed. He then asked for $460 towards the build to pay bills. Has since quit returning phone calls, voice messages and texts. This man is a liar and a thief. I have spoken to a friend of his and also another man that is a local business owner. The business owner says he was run out of Florida, GA and Maryland. He is now back in the North Florida and SE Georgia area. Do not do business with this man. He is 66yrs old and has all kinds of stories about how he is godly but in the end he is just a crook. Drives a large blue dump truck that says BJ's Hauling and Construction. Last contact was on 12/12/17 when the concrete was poured and that's the last time I saw him.

After I paid him in full, everything started to go sour. The level of expertise wasn't there and the work was amateur at best. The city has sent him a "Stop Work" citation, and he hasn't responded to the city. I have attempted to correspond with him multiple times and I asked him to come and complete the project and he claims he has no more money to complete the project. I have found out that he has done this to several other member of my community.

We've had literally dozens of tradesmen over the years but have never had one with the high degree of professionalism and expertise like Mr. McCurdy and his partner. They arrived promptly, were extremely easy and pleasant to work with. They went above and beyond with attention to detail in the prep of each project and this quality of work continued with the finished product. We had a long list of items to be fixed, upgraded or repaired and they completed all within the time he said they would. We've never had such high quality work before. We thought his price was low compared to what all they did and the quality of it and we feel he saved us a lot of money.  They cleaned up afterward and we couldn't be happier with all the results.  I'll ONLY use Mr. McCurdy for any future projects.

FTerry McClure
Very poor, have to hire reputable plumber to redo all the work and will have to take Mr Mcclure to court to get our money back, also may file complaint with state officials to insure Mr Mcclure will not be able to do work that should only be done by license professional. The state can issue a cease and desist order and could bring criminal charges against him. I hate to do this but the only alternative would be for Mr Mcclure to refund my money and remove all the stuff he installed.
